Before the echo of his voice died down, a phone call ca through, the very sound of a ringing phone he now feared the most but also desperately wanted to hear.

He feared it because he feared receiving bad news. But he also wanted to hear it just in case there was news about Lu Weixi, or perhaps the company’s situation had improved?

The ringing of the phone was like the grating noise of a tal scraping across porcelain. Qin Zhiyou didn’t speak, and no one else dared to answer. Perhaps he was indeed too tired after such a long ti without rest, even his reactions were half a beat too slow. By the ti he thought to answer it, the call had already been disconnected. He glanced at the caller ID; he recognized the area code, 001 – it was from Arica.

It wasn’t from the kidnapper, but it was from Arica. In that mont, Qin Zhiyou felt an urge to evade. He knew there were still hours before the market opened in New York, but he felt almost like he was experiencing a stress reaction upon hearing the words "Arica, New York," his heart racing.

He suddenly sat down on the chair, and just as he did, the door to the eting room was pushed open. Then Secretary Wang, gasping for breath, rushed in: "Boss Qin, there’s been an incident."

Those words again, and just like before, Secretary Wang was related to both the kidnapping and work matters. The sight of him made Qin Zhiyou terribly anxious; he tried to stand up, but everything went black for a mont from lack of sleep, and he sank back down into his chair: "What happened?"

Secretary Wang said: "Soone’s here."

"Who is it?" asked Qin Zhiyou again. Could it be Zhao Zihuan again? Wasn’t the pressure from his calls enough that he had to walk right up from the Hilton across the street?

Secretary Wang himself had been up for 72 hours, struggling to say what he should, and could only gesture towards the door: "He’ll explain it to you personally."

Qin Zhiyou and everyone in the room turned their gaze back to the door, and there they saw him—a foreigner entering. This man looked sowhat shabby, wearing slippers, with scruffy beard, and wrinkled clothes; he was clearly not from the sa world as the neatly dressed elites in the room.

This man might be unfamiliar to other employees, but to Qin Zhiyou, who was very concerned about his wife, he definitely knew him: it was his brother-in-law Qin Zhigu’s deputy, the building designer Paul, who had previously worked with Lu Weixi.

But what was he doing at the company?

Seeing everyone in the room staring at him, Paul didn’t mind and went directly to where Qin Zhiyou was by the desk, handing him so docunts: "Philip sent these to you. He’s currently in Arica and it’s not convenient for him."

Qin Zhiyou was bewildered, he pulled out the docunt folder and imdiately understood – these were from Qin Zhigu! Using his architect Simon White’s na, he offered to join Hanhai Group and provide about three hundred million cash in hopes of legitimately becoming a shareholder at Hanhai.

Three hundred million in cash wasn’t much, but Simon White’s reputation in the design world abroad was indeed a significant marque. He is currently designing a skyscraper in Arica, standing a hundred floors tall at about three hundred ters. So was it him who made that call just now?

Indeed, after Qin Zhiyou finished reviewing Qin Zhigu’s investnt proposal, Secretary Wang also brought up the current tweets from Qin Zhigu. He wrote directly: "I am personally joining Hanhai Group, as a designer, as a partner, as an honor to the family."

Although the tweet didn’t get many likes, it was seen by a particularly large number of people. Clearly, the stock issues at Hanhai had garnered widespread attention from the financial sectors of both countries.
