Chapter 1346: Chapter 1339: eting is Fate (5)
Lu Weixi still wanted to resist, but Qin Zhiyou used his long arms and legs to his advantage, pinning her down at the edge of the bed, then with a roll, he pressed her beneath him.
Even though Lu Weixi was underneath, her spirit wasn’t defeated, nor was she willing to let his advances disrupt her composure. She cursed breathlessly, “Qin Zhiyou, if you’re capable, let go!”
“Why should I let you go?” Qin Zhiyou didn’t release her. Although he brought her down with him, his movents were still very gentle, careful to only misalign the sheets and he also protected her abdon, all because he was afraid of injuring her, “I like you.”
Lu Weixi’s anger diminished sowhat, struck dumb by his words. Her hands still propped on his shoulders, originally intending to push him away, and even her facial expression wasn’t particularly well-managed, contorted in a grimace. But after Qin Zhiyou spoke, she beca completely frozen, like she had been hit by a pressure point technique, her expression stiffened and her body remained motionless.
The hands that had been pushing him away now felt weak and feeble and almost turned into clinging vines, nearly wrapping around his neck.
It took a long ti for her to slowly shift her gaze away towards the window, “I’d believe in ghosts before I believed you.”
Qin Zhiyou just laughed. A car passed by outside the window, and its headlights briefly illuminated his face, “I’m an atheist, but if you say that believing requires believing in ghosts, then I’d begrudgingly believe in ghosts and such.”
It took Lu Weixi a very long ti to turn her head, only to find Qin Zhiyou still watching her. His gaze was focused, as if he intended to etch her into his heart. Since their first eting nine years ago to the present, he had matured from his youthful vigor to a quieter deanor, but he indeed had a face that won would like. Especially those eyes, which made her feel like a completely different being when he looked at her seriously. Even she admitted that she was initially drawn to Qin Zhiyou by that face.
But now, looking at him staring at her so earnestly and from such a close distance, even she found it hard to et his gaze, wanting to look away, only to have her chin gently nudged by his hand, turning her face back to him.
“Why are you looking at like that?”
Lu Weixi felt a mix of unbearable tension and an inexplicable sense of nervousness, so intense that both her breathing and heartbeat quickened. Qin Zhiyou pinched her chin, preventing her from looking away. Gazing into his eyes, looking at his face, and his slightly parted lips, she suddenly felt a bit thirsty, and her heart thudded violently as if it had been struck.
Qin Zhiyou chuckled softly, leaning down closer to her ear, “Do you know? If a man keeps looking at a woman’s face, it’s either because there’s sothing on her face.”
“What else?”
Perhaps because of his leaning in, his voice seed extra deep and resonant, magnetic like the sonorous lody of a cello. With every word, her eardrums seed to tremble lightly, “I just told you, didn’t I? I like you.”
Since Lu Weixi had t him, she had never heard him speak words of affection. At first, Qin Zhiyou rely teased her occasionally, physically liking to take advantage, but he never spoke the words out loud. Even after they were married, he never expressed affection, and the most he did was express physical desire when they were divorcing. Platonic love, it seed, had never existed in his vocabulary.
