674: Chapter 674 Beginning with Evil 674: Chapter 674 Beginning with Evil “This is absolutely impossible, even if my boss played it himself, he wouldn’t be this proficient.” Little Jia stared blankly at the computer screen, watching Han Fei navigate through life and death, andering among his five female friends.
Other gas could be explained by talent, but this urban romance horror ga required no operation, rely making the right decisions and precisely analyzing the psychology of each character.
Little Jia had never seen anyone survive the first week on their first try.
What’s more peculiar is that when others play, they deliberate for a long ti over each choice to avoid dying, but Han Fei makes his decisions without even blinking.
It’s as if he’s not playing a ga but reviewing his own life.
Li Guo’er, standing on the other side of Han Fei, also fell into deep thought.
She had witnessed firsthand how Han Fei made the sa choices as that man, acting decisively when saving people, not exploring various possibilities like other players.
He was too imrsed, treating every ga character as if they were real, living people.
To the uninford outsider, this might just seem foolish on Han Fei’s part, but to Li Guo’er, one of the ga’s characters, Han Fei was exuding a special quality at that mont.
That quality, she had seen it in another person before.
Now, as the two silhouettes slowly rged, her gaze changed.
In half an hour, Han Fei had unlocked seven female characters and was starting to be chased by female ghosts.
When the first female ghost appeared on the ga screen, Han Fei’s pace of play significantly slowed; he stared at the screen for a long ti.
“This female ghost looks completely different from Xu Qin.”
Relieved, Han Fei also regained so of his rationality.
He had beco so imrsed that he had started to see himself as the male lead of the ga.
Even more bizarre, new cracks began to appear on the dark veil sealing his mories within his mind.
“Why have you stopped playing?” Little Jia moved a chair over to sit beside Han Fei.
“Watching you play is truly enjoyable, so smooth.
Did you get amnesia from being hit by your ex-girlfriends?”
“I’m pondering a question.” Han Fei turned to look at Li Guo’er.
“This ga was developed by your company, adapted from real events, and the male lead is your boss; is the female coworker in the ga you?”
Although the question was sowhat impolite, after a brief pause, Li Guo’er nodded.
“The male lead was my team leader; he died of illness a year ago.”
“A year ago?” Han Fei picked up a piece of paper and a pen from the table and drew a mother and son.
“I once t this mother and son at the entrance of Paradise.
Do you recognize them?”
During his weakest mont, Han Fei had followed the clues left in a script to et that mother and son at Paradise.
He didn’t know why he did it; he just felt it was a very important matter for him.
“The woman you drew is my team leader’s second wife, and the kid is called Fu Tian, his second son,” Li Guo’er recognized the mother and son that Han Fei drew.
“Why would your team leader’s wife and child help ?
Why did she look at with that kind of unconditional trust?” Han Fei had a conjecture in his heart, and he promptly asked another question, “Tell about your team leader’s family and people related to him.”
After Han Fei said this, both Li Guo’er and Little Jia decisively refused him.
Although the team leader had died, he remained a special presence in their hearts, and they seed worried that Han Fei might harm his family.
“Don’t worry, I’m only doing this to verify sothing.” Han Fei didn’t press Li Guo’er and Little Jia any further and continued to focus on the ga.
In this horror romance ga with ninety-nine possible death endings, Han Fei stubbornly survived a month, maintaining all female friends’ Goodwill at a delicate level, neither too high nor too low, just enough to prevent death.
“It looks like you’ve reached your limit, I said how could such a ga possibly be cleared?” Little Jia muttered softly, “This ga probably has no ending at all.
On the night when I first released it, my house was haunted, the computer turned on by itself, I don’t even know what the final version of the plot is…”
I didn’t an to ntion the haunting, but when Little Jia looked down at Han Fei, who was sitting in front of the computer, the panic in his heart erupted uncontrollably.
The scene was all too familiar; the ghost sitting in front of the computer that night seed to be the very person before him!
It was just as Little Jia opened his mouth wide with fear that Han Fei activated all the female friends’ side quests, triggering the final countdown for survival.
With every choice he made, another crack appeared on the mory barrier in Han Fei’s mind.
All past decisions were affecting this desperate future, with every character from the ga being etched into Han Fei’s mory, assailing the great lock that sealed off his mories.
“I think I know what the ending is, I wrote it with my own hands.”
After nding the regrets of the ten won, Han Fei was faced with his last choice, to die or to continue living.
Up to this point in the ga, he had expended countless brainpower and energy to avoid death, and most people would likely choose to continue living, but after a mont of hesitation, Han Fei chose death.
This was a ga about atonent, where the ultimate goal was not to keep the protagonist happily alive but to help him atone for his sins.
“No, don’t do this!
You’ve co so far!
How could you choose to give up?” Little You couldn’t understand Han Fei’s choice, but it turned out to be the best possible ending.
After the suicide of the main character in the ga, an Easter egg that no one had ever seen appeared.
Above the corpse of the main character, the soul of a different person erged, completely unlike that of the main character’s— a handso young man with a gentle gaze.
Seeing the Easter egg on the computer screen, Han Fei felt as if his brain had been struck, he stared, dumbfounded, at the body on the ground and the soul erging from it!
“This is the clue I left for myself!”
Another soul resided in the team leader’s body, existing solely to help the leader atone; it would only reappear after the leader had fully atoned for his sins.
The soul on the computer screen walked through the city’s corners, watching from afar the leader’s forr family and friends before slowly walking away.
“So this is the real ending!”
The the of the ga was love, yet it was filled with traps and despair, all endings leading to death, and even the ga developnt company did not know what the true happy ending was, as the only designer who knew it had already died.
In this situation, however, Han Fei had brought out the real ending.
Li Guo’er and Little Jia beside him stared at Han Fei in utter shock, the figure buried deep in their hearts now completely rging with the man before them.
“Team leader?”
“Was it you who saved ?”
The two forr subordinates spoke at the sa ti, and Han Fei’s head was pierced with a tearing pain!
“I once atoned for that man; the ga chronicled the last part of my life.”
“Player Number 0000, please note!
You have reached Stage Seven!”
Two different sets of mories collided together, and Han Fei rembered so things, but those mory fragnts were not his own; they ca from a person nad Fu Yi.
“Tell everything related to Fu Yi,” Han Fei’s voice left no room for refusal.
After a brief exchange, Han Fei understood many things, and he also knew why the mother and son had helped him.
“My wife recognized ; it seems she was also the first to notice sothing was amiss.”
Han Fei pieced together the mory fragnts in his brain sea, “Fu Yi’s eldest child is nad Fu Sheng, the paper molder on the top floor of Building One in Happiness Residential Community is also nad Fu Sheng, and all the people in this city who want to kill also have the surna Fu.
What has happened in the city within just one year?
I saved him from the Abyss, so why does he want to kill with all his might?”
“Fu Sheng left the city half a year ago, saying he was going to study in another place, but then I saw him once in Paradise,” Li Guo’er said with a complicated look in her eyes after learning the truth, “It seed like he disappeared in Paradise.”
“The real Fu Sheng disappeared in Paradise, and then countless madn with the surna Fu appeared in the city, as if all the different stages of Fu Sheng’s life had gathered here,” Han Fei turned off the ga, “Maybe I should tell Fu Sheng’s mother about this and help her find her child.”
Many previously incomprehensible matters now had explanations, and Han Fei silently stared at the computer screen, his gaze falling on the icon for the ga “Plants vs.
Zombies”: “Two sets of mories, two kinds of helpers, so human, so ghosts.
Compared to the other five forces, we are not far behind.”
Getting Little Jia to download the ga’s save files into the laptop, Han Fei listed out all the corresponding people in the ga.
“So that’s how Goodwill is used.”
The night outside the window was dense, and the mont when malice would erge was fast approaching.
The evil ghosts out of Paradise’s control would soon be hunting the ga participants and the innocent throughout the city.
“With only one hour left until daylight, take the laptop with you and follow to find Fu Sheng’s mother,” Han Fei rose from his seat, his voice cold and decisive, betraying no signs of fatigue.
“We’ve just gotten back,” Little Jia complained with a grimace, “My team leader never made us work overti before.”
“I’m not asking you to work overti; I’m searching for the only way out for you,” Han Fei headed toward the living room, “F won’t just sit and wait for death; he has the ability to predict the future.
Tomorrow is probably when the chaos will start, and the days and nights of this city will soon beco blurred.”
Previously, Li Guo’er would have opposed Han Fei and made her own suggestions, but ever since she found out that Han Fei might be the soul attached to that person, she beca his most loyal assistant, no longer voicing any doubt.
The two donned white masks, placed the deadly blades in their backpacks, and opened the front door.
“My god!
You guys are really going all out,” Little Jia followed with the laptop, looking apologetically at Little You, “I’m sorry to have dragged you into this.”
“It’s okay, I don’t want to be separated from my mom.
If anyone tries to take her away, I will resist to the end,” Little You held her phone around her neck, her eyes filled with unwavering determination.
Haven’t been ho long, the group found themselves in a taxi once again.
As night was about to yield to day, it was the darkest of tis, and any creature that moved might beco a target of malice.
To warn all ga participants, Paradise also lit up the sky with one blood-colored firework after another.
The huge eyeball exploded in midair, with the bloodshed signifying that danger was near.
“Last ti, we were lucky not to encounter any uncontrollable evil ghosts, but we might not be so fortunate this ti, so be prepared,” Han Fei was clearer than anyone on the inside, “I heard the words ‘First Generation Ghost’ from the mouth of the Kuangxiao Monster; those out-of-control ghosts are very likely to be the so-called First Generation Ghosts.”
“First Generation Ghosts?
Could it be that ghosts are created?”
“I don’t know who the first Ghost is, but I do know that Director Fu’s orphanage has always been torturing orphans, wanting them to reach a certain state, just like Number Eleven, and ,” Han Fei’s eyes under the mask were sharp and indifferent.
“This city hides the most fundantal secret, and I will unearth it bit by bit!”
The taxi traveled through the night, and when there was only half an hour left before dawn, the neon screens on the skyscrapers began to flicker.
The large screen was no longer playing aningless advertisents, but instead started broadcasting a red alert, the whole screen engulfed in glaring red.
“Han Fei!
How did you and Li Guo’er appear on the big screens of the high-rise buildings in the downtown area?” Little Jia exclaid in shock, originally thinking he had seen wrong.
Looking out the window, Han Fei saw that the police had issued the latest A-level wanted orders, with Li Guo’er, suspected of murdering Du Shu, topping the list; F, who openly attacked the police, involved in multiple violent cases, and suspected of serial murder cases, ranked second; Han Fei, with a ntal disorder, possessing multiple personalities, attacking dical staff, and suspected of serial murder cases, ranked third; Qiangwei, the manager of Perfect Life Inn, ranked fourth…
The police had issued a total of eleven wanted notices, each person’s na highlighted in the most dangerous red, all of them bloodstained individuals who flouted the rules like madn!
“Damn!
Both of you are wanted!” Little Jia said he wasn’t scared, but that would be a lie: “That F seems to have thought the sa as you!
Did you know he would do this, so you wanted to get him on board with you?”
“He can foresee the future, so when I make a decision, I must consider the worst-case scenario,” Han Fei’s white mask turned blood red from the light of the screen.
“Being wanted is no big deal, although I’ve always thought of myself as a good person, but I vaguely rember soone calling the Soul of Evil.”
Listening to Han Fei’s cold voice, Little Jia inexplicably shivered.
Among the eleven people on the screen, so were rated as A-level threats, but so were rated so because A-level was the highest classification the police had for criminals.
Sitting in the back, Little Jia and Little You both broke out in sweat.
With eleven A-level wanted criminals in the city, and two of them in the car, how could they not panic?
Only Li Guo’er sat next to Han Fei, gripping the steering wheel, continuing to drive forward.
“We’re almost there.”
Ten minutes later, the dark taxi slowly drove into a rundown residential area.
Before they even got upstairs, they heard disordered footsteps inside the complex; several ga participants wearing white masks were erging from a building.
The leader, clad in a black coat, held a sleeping child in his arms.
“F?”
The vehicle ca to a halt, and Han Fei, dressed in a suit, pushed the car door open, stepping out with Accompany in hand.
“You always seem to be one step ahead of ; is this your ability to foresee the future?”
Han Fei stood in the middle of the road, blocking the only exit.
“Step aside,” F said calmly, with no hint of emotional fluctuation in his voice.
“I’ll step aside, but you have to leave two things,” Han Fei bound the Red Rope around his hand.
“What do you want to take from ?” F asked, while more players walked out from behind him.
“That Black Saber that can’t kill , and the child in your arms that I raised.”
The streetlight flickered and then went out, the Curse creeping along the Red Rope.
Han Fei stood in the shadow, his eyes beneath the mask staring straight at F.
