Chapter 408: Chapter 26 Ashen-faced_2

“Look at the commotion.” Because Qiaoqiao always had trouble pronouncing rolling r’s, she liked to say “look at the commotion” instead of “watch the fun.”

Lin Xiaoguai imdiately breathed a sigh of relief; if Mrs. Yu was standing by doing nothing, it ant her son wasn’t at a disadvantage.

When they arrived at the scene, Lin Xiaoguai found that her son wasn’t at a disadvantage at all; he was actually making others suffer a loss.

“Chunchun, hit his head hard!”

“Hold down his hands, quick!”

An old man was lying face down on the ground, with Little Spring Breeze riding on top of him, yelling, “Giddy up, giddy up, why aren’t you running?” and angrily turning his head to say, “I told you not to call Chunchun, call Little Spring Breeze or Big Brother!”

The crowd of kids, none older than four, completely ignored him and continued to call out whatever they pleased.

“You little brats, let go, release !” the old man flailed and cursed.

Unfortunately, his arms and legs were pinned down by a group of children. He yelled fiercely, but with no intimidating effect whatsoever.

Qiaoqiao got down from Lin Xiaoguai and rushed over, too, while Little Sun and Sisi sat quietly to the side.

“What’s going on here?” Lin Xiaoguai asked Mrs. Yu.

“That person…” Mrs. Yu hesitated before saying, “You recognize who that old man is, right?”

“Who is it?” The old man was a ss, and Lin Xiaoguai couldn’t figure it out after staring for a long ti.

“It’s Fan Quanfu.” Seeing her puzzled expression, Mrs. Yu whispered, “It’s the old man who previously deceived Young Master, Miss Xinyu, and Young Master Ping’an.”

Lin Xiaoguai ca to a realization but was still puzzled, “How did Little Spring Breeze get into it with him?” She knew her own son well; although Little Spring Breeze was domineering, he wasn’t the type to cause trouble on purpose.

“It was the old man who caused it himself,” Mrs. Yu said, frowning with a hint of schadenfreude. “Madam, didn’t you put a lot of snacks in the kids’ pouches? That shaless old geezer tried to trick the children out of their stuff, but they wouldn’t have it. Later, the third young master wanted to climb a little hill and found the pouch inconvenient, so he set it aside on a bench. That old man really is shaless, he began eating from it while the kids were away. The other children saw it and obviously couldn’t stand it. He claid he was just tasting, and the kids were almost tricked by him, but when the third young master ca back, he saw that almost all the snacks had been eaten, leaving only two toffees.”

“You know the temperant of the third young master, and yet that old man insisted on arguing that there hadn’t been much food in the pouch in the first place. The third young master couldn’t argue with him, so he just pounced and pushed him. The other kids saw it and naturally wanted to help, and this is the result.”

Lin Xiaoguai was sowhat speechless at the absurdity of the old man.

“Okay, Little Spring Breeze, co back here,” Lin Xiaoguai called her son.

She wasn’t afraid of much, except that the old man might bla the children if sothing happened to him.

Little Spring Breeze, still feeling unsatisfied, stomped on the old man a few tis. Hearing his continuous cries of pain, he smirked proudly and stood up, walking back to his mother.

“How co you’re covered in sweat from playing?” Lin Xiaoguai took the coat that Mrs. Yu passed to her and dressed her son.

“Shen Chi’s wife, you have to give an explanation for today’s incident. I’m already one foot in the grave, and to think I would be toyed with by a bunch of children, how am I supposed to live on?” Fan Quanfu got up from the ground, crying and sniveling at Lin Xiaoguai.

Lin Xiaoguai was taken aback, “Wasn’t it you who first snatched the children’s food?” Yet, she breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that the old man was vigorous enough, indicating he wasn’t injured.

Fan Quanfu choked, then angrily said, “Who’s spreading lies? At my age, why would I snatch food from children?”

Lin Xiaoguai blinked, “If that’s not the case, how did you find your way in here?”

Fan Quanfu was startled, “Are you implying you want to drive out?” His tone was quite displeased.

“No, that’s not what I an. It’s just…” Lin Xiaoguai glanced at his empty hands and said, “Mr. Fan, if you’re not buying vegetables, please don’t just walk in here in the future. If sothing goes missing within the farm, it will also keep us from wrongfully accusing you, won’t it?”

She called over an employee who was walking by with a bag of grass, “Zhou Xiuxiu, could you go to Minister Han and tell her it’s from ? From now on, if people co to buy vegetables, don’t let them in. Conduct the transactions at the guardhouse instead. Otherwise, if things go missing, it gets unclear.”

After pausing, she added, “Also, set specific tis for the transactions. Don’t let idle folks co in all the ti and disrupt the farm’s work.”

Her son had made a fool of the man today, and given his deanor, he didn’t seem the type to let things go. Since they were now enemies, she saw no need for courtesy. She decided it was ti to suppress his arrogance, so he wouldn’t treat Zhi Xin Garden like his own backyard.

Did he think she was easily bullied? Minister Han’s tricks were sothing she was well-acquainted with from her past life—it was just a matter of whether she wanted to use them.

“Ah, I’ll go tell Minister Han right away,” Zhou Xiuxiu said excitedly, keenly aware of the implications in her boss’s words. This wasn’t her first rodeo, and she would certainly share with her sisters how to carry out a face-slapping operation to the end.

This rotten old man had been an eyesore to her for a long ti. Most custors left promptly after buying vegetables, but he would linger aimlessly in the farm. Before you knew it, he would have swiped a green onion here, a garlic bulb there, and once even a chicken egg!

Because of him, quite a few people had been fined!

“You, you…” Fan Quanfu was so angry he couldn’t speak.

He had deliberately chosen a ti when Minister Han was away to co today, yet not only had he been outwitted by a bunch of children, but even Lin Xiaoguai, whom he thought easy to deal with, had managed in just a few words to embarrass him thoroughly.

The worst part was, it seed he wouldn’t be able to enter the farm anymore and miss out on potential perks! (To be continued.
