Bo Qin caught up, "Where’s Jian Dan?"

Madam Bo, "She’s gone to the guest room to rest for now. Your grandfather asked you to co back to speak with him. After that, you can go see Jian Dan."

Entering the study on the third floor ans sothing, Bo Qin knows it very well. He nodded heavily, "Mom, I’m fine, don’t worry."

Madam Bo, "Who’s worried about you? I’m more worried about Little Jian Dan, okay? You’re tough-skinned, what’s there to worry about?"

Bo Qin: "..."

This logic, for his mother, really doesn’t count for much.

...

The study on the third floor is where family discipline is enforced; it’s also grandpa’s office. In this household, grandpa was the one who predominantly used this place, but over the years, there weren’t many who were disciplined there. If Bo Qin were disciplined, he’d be the first in five years.

Bo Qin pushed the door open and saw grandma sitting beside grandpa, winking at him vigorously.

This symbolic habitual movent was all too familiar. When they were young, grandma would help the brothers just like this, all of them escaping punishnt, admitting wrongdoing to soften grandpa’s heart, always with this kind of hint.

But back then, grandpa rarely punished them, and when punishnt was due, he would absolutely not go easy because of these things. It depended on the severity of the mistake and whether it could be redied.

He comforted grandma with a smile, "Grandpa."

Grandpa caught grandma’s little action and snorted, "Decades have passed, and you still haven’t had enough fun."

Grandma froze for a mont and then acted like she hadn’t heard, continuing with what she was doing, totally ignoring him.

Grandpa: "..."

Bo Qin found it both amusing and annoying. Grandpa couldn’t reprimand grandma, so he had to vent on him instead?

"Tell , what’s happening between you and Jian Dan?"

Bo Qin fell silent. He was considering where to start with this matter, but Grandpa assud his silence was an admission of guilt and nearly gave him a thrashing.

"Bo Qin, a man of the Bo family, should stand tall and firm. If you did wrong, you did wrong. No matter your feelings of gratitude toward Jian Dan, how could you raise your hand against a child you’ve raised?"

Bo Qin was helpless, "Grandpa, my silence doesn’t an I’m admitting anything. I’m just thinking about how to clarify this matter."

Grandma caught the hint of an inside story and blinked, "Was Jian Dan wronged?"

Bo Qin nodded.

The protective look Grandma had just now completely crumbled. She looked at her eldest grandson with a sigh, "You’re over thirty, at the age of settling down, but I didn’t expect your interest would be in soone so young. Your potential is sowhat similar to those scoundrels outside."

Bo Qin blinked, "Hold on, Grandma, where is this coming from?"

He adjusted his stiff expression before explaining the situation in detail, albeit hiding so insignificant matters, like Jian Dan acting voluntarily, replacing them with an account of his confusion and misjudgnt, without attributing a single fault to Jian Dan, admitting it was all his own fault.

Grandpa listened and furrowed his brows, "Are you telling the truth?"

Bo Qin nodded, "Grandpa, it’s definitely the truth; that’s how things are."

Grandma, "The Pei family does indeed have ambitions beyond reach. No wonder they went all out against you; it’s because of Jian Dan, right?"

"Hmm."

Grandma nodded, "At least you have a conscience. Now, let’s talk about what you’ll do since Jian Dan is pregnant."

Bo Qin responded almost without thinking, "Didn’t Grandma just say that at my age, it’s ti to settle down?"

Grandma was surprised, "So this ti, now that we’re bringing it up, you have no objections?"

Bo Qin nodded, "I’ll follow whatever Grandma decides."

"Hah, good, good, truly the dutiful grandson."

Grandpa looked at this cheerful childlike deanor from Grandma, indulgingly affectionate in his deep eyes, but ti’s favor had only made them more spirited as the years passed.

Grandpa waved his hand, "Since the matter is clarified, I won’t hold you accountable. Go visit Jian Dan."

"Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma."

Bo Qin went out and saw Madam Bo waiting for him at the end of the corridor. He walked over quickly, Madam Bo’s gaze fell on his arm, seeing no marks, "The old man didn’t lay a hand on you?"

Bo Qin humd in acknowledgnt, "The matter was explained clearly, Grandpa doesn’t believe it’s my fault, so there was no punishnt."

Madam Bo sighed in relief, "Alright then, go keep Jian Dan company."
