Chapter 664
Anton went outside the casino, followed by Kirk, sono, Omar, and Abul.
“Why do you dislike the casino?” Kirk asked him, and Anton simply shrugged.
Abdul whispered beneath his breath that it was because Anton had never won a single bet, which everyone heard, and Anton glared at the young boy, causing Abdul to gulp audibly. Anton summoned three Spirit Wolves and commanded the wolves to sit on Abdul. So of the pedestrians were startled, and so even scread. Soon, a group of guards appeared, but cald down imdiately when they saw that the spirit wolves were just sitting on a young man.
“What’s happening here?!” One of the guards asked sternly.
“One of my soon-to-be employees disrespected , so I commanded my summons to sit on him as punishnt,” Anton simply said.
“Since this is an internal matter, so be it as long as there’s no blood. Please rember to avoid any commotion. You all know that our kingdom is currently being attacked by the undead,” the guard said.
“I know. I’m actually a Supre Rank Wizard who was part of the force that defended ndoza from the undead and was also part of the force that battled the undead at the fortified camp between ndoza and this kingdom. I’m currently on vacation and will return to the frontline in a week,” Anton said proudly.
The group of guards, though, looked a little doubtful, probably because of how young Anton looked, but they still beca extrely respectful. Everyone knew that powerful wizards could turn themselves young, so it was not that unusual for a youth to suddenly declare that he was a Supre Rank wizard. Since the issue was minor, the guard did not want to bother Anton anymore and left. If the issue were big, they would probably have found ways to verify Anton’s declaration.
After that, Anton dismissed the Spirit Wolves and no longer bothered with Abdul. He would let Kirk, sono, and Omar discipline the young man. He then teleported away from the four guys and decided to explore alone.
Anton was still wearing ordinary clothes, so walking around the streets of New Drennor, he was treated like any of the normal youths walking around. He stumbled into what looked like a plaza full of street perforrs. There were dancers, singers, minstrels of every instrunt, actors performing street plays, puppeteers, poets, illusionists, sellers of snake oils, and more. He stayed and watched every act that caught his fancy and was extrely generous in donating to the perforrs since he tossed gold coins into their hats or buckets. The funny thing was, the perforrs would imdiately notice if the coins that were tossed by viewers were gold instead of iron bits or copper, and they would imdiately scramble to find the gold coins and would keep them in their person. They would all do so even if they were in the middle of a performance, so to be respectful, Anton would toss his donation after performing.
Anton rembered singing in the sa kind of street before with his guitar and singing songs from Earth. He knew that he was good enough of a singer and a guitar player that he could probably join the perforrs and people would also watch him, but he wanted to remain part of the audience.
He knew that the plaza perforrs had already noticed him because he was one of the few who was extrely generous and kept tossing out gold coins into hats and buckets. He was the only one to do so repeatedly, going around and tossing coins as if they were pebbles on every performance that caught his fancy.
Anton imagined that he had probably caught the eye of so of the more unscrupulous part of the crowd and would accost him the mont he was away from the more populated area.
One of the very few good things that happened in New Drennor during the attack of the undead was that the guards patrolling the kingdom were extrely vigilant and would prevent any chaos from occurring, which made the kingdom sowhat peaceful. He had even heard from Ishmael that the criminal underground was lying low.
Anton did not care. He went around and watched all the perforrs in the plaza, sotis he would stay for more that a couple of their set performances and he would reward a gold coins on very performance so if he stayed at a particular artist’s location and watched three or four of the said artist set performances, that artist would have earned three or four gold coins from him, which Anton understood was an enormous amount of wealth for the common people.
After a few hours of watching the street perforrs, he ate street food and drank fruit juices from the nearby food stand, and returned to watching the street perforrs. He thoroughly enjoyed the performances and only stopped when the sun started to set. When he had decided to return to his inn, Anton knew that he was lost.
Anton saw that one of the perforrs, one of the jugglers who juggles all sorts of things, starting from balls to the dangerous swords.
“Hey, are you done with performing?” Anton shouted at the juggler, and the juggler, who looked to be in his mid-twenties, looked cautiously at Anton and nodded.
“I’ll give you a gold coin if you lead
back to my inn. I’m lost and I don’t know how to get back.” Anton then gave the na of the inn to the juggler and threw a gold coin at the man.
The juggler grinned.
“My na’s Roml, and thank you for tossing a couple of gold coins to my performances. I know your inn and I’ll lead you there,” the juggler said.
The juggler, carrying a huge bag on his shoulder, started walking, and Anton followed suit.
“Are you so sort of rich noble who escaped his bodyguards? That’s extrely dangerous. If these were normal tis, you wouldn’t find
going near you, but since the guards are extrely vigilant, it’s safe as long as we stick to walking on the main roads.” Roml said while they were walking.
“I’m not a noble. I’m a powerful wizard, so I’m not afraid of being accosted,” Anton simply said.
The juggler looked at Anton in disbelief and just continued walking. Roml continued talking about his life as a juggler, as if it were his duty to entertain Anton while they walked. Anton was surprised that it took them more than an hour to walk before they arrived at his inn.
“Thanks for leading
here,” Anton said, then tossed another gold coin at the juggler, who grinned, waved goodbye, and disappeared among the pedestrians.
When he entered his suite, he saw Kirk, sono, Omar, and Abdul, who was full of bruises, entertaining Tess and her parents, and Ishmael and his family.
“I’m not in the mood. We’ll watch movies tomorrow,” Anton simply said and headed directly to his room and shut the door.
After that, he used a town portal scroll inside his bathroom and returned to the Rose Manor. The mont he was back in his room, he cast the Blizzard spell, turned into Mana Rain, which was his signature signal to tell everyone he was back at the manor, and soon he heard a knock on his door.
When Anton said “Enter,” the butler opened the door, and he was followed by Anders, Luna, and Alfred. He saw that Raymond was carrying food and drinks and was thankful since he was hungry.
While he was eating, Alfred and Luna clamored for the next episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and when he gave them the next three episodes, they imdiately left, and Raymond followed them.
Anders joined him at the table but did not eat since the family had already eaten.
