Chapter 605
All the wizards in the eting room saw that even though the ranking stone indicated that Anton was still an archmage, everyone noticed that the indicator was showing that Anton would only need a few more “power points” and he would reach the Supre Rank. Anton was also aware of that. He knew that once he was done with the current ladder season of his Diablo II ga inside his system, he would probably officially enter the ranks of Supre Wizards.
“Look at that. You will probably beco a Supre Wizard by the ti you're 20 years old. You can count wizards that age that reached that rank in one hand,” One of the wizards said to Anton.
After that comnt, everyone introduced themselves to him. Anton tried his best to morize the nas and faces of the wizards there since all of them were powerful, supre wizards. He did not want to offend any of them. When everyone was done, it was ti for Anton to introduce himself. He knew that just saying his na and his birthplace wasn’t enough, so he gave a summary of his life from the ti his family started running from the Undead Coalition till they reached this continent.
While he was telling his life story, Anton could hear the battle that was going in beyond the door. He knew that the undead attack started around seven in the evening, and several powerful mage teams were on standby to replace the ones utilizing the long-range and magical strengthening arrays.
After he was done telling his story, Cedon appointed himself to teach Anton a lot of things he needed to know while he was assigned to them. According to Cedon, the ten magic arrays were truly the center of the defense of the west wall. Each section of the wall only had a single long-range array, but the center had ten, and not only would it allow the spellcasters utilizing the array to have an extrely long range in casting their spells, but the power of their spells would also going to be magnified.
For safety reasons, there were several groups of mage teams assigned to the center section of the main wall.
Anton then asked a question that had been bothering him for a while.
“Why don’t we bring the battle to them? Why are we remaining passive here?”
“On the first few days that ndoza was attacked, we did try to bring the fight where the Undead Coalition had landed. Unfortunately, the undead were prepared. You must have heard rumors that the ones leading the invasion were three semi-divine liches? It wasn’t true. The one leading the invasion is a divine Monarch Lich. We lost a lot of Supre Wizards that day, and we believe that half of them beca liches or vampires, which made the coalition more powerful. Now, we do have a divine wizard in ndoza, but if Divine Wizards fight each other, a lot of the land would be devastated, and there is a chance that ndoza would not survive that fight. There was even a chance that our Divine Wizard might lose. We were inford that the Divine Lich from the Coalition is a truly powerful being that was several thousand years old,” Cedon said with a grim tone.
Anton sighed at the fact that the truly powerful beings that stood on top of organizations of this world were truly powerful. It humbled him. He thought that he was starting to beco powerful enough to make a difference, but now he knew that he was still very far away from that.
At around ten minutes before midnight, all the wizards in the room stood up and headed towards the ten magic arrays on the wall. Anton and Cedon followed them. The magic arrays had no rankings, so the wizards just randomly entered the arrays. Cedon chose the tenth array and Anton chose the one beside Cedon’s.
The mont Anton viewed the army that was coming through the array’s lenses, he couldn’t help but gasp at the enormity of the undead horde. He thought that the horde was one hundred tis larger than the one that had attacked the section he was in the night before.
Anton felt that with the size of the army that was attacking the center sections, all of his spells would probably look like stones thrown at an ocean with minimal effect. He then turned his attention to the defenders beneath the wall, and he could see that the lee fighters there all looked extrely powerful. Their gears glowed like twinkling stars, which was a testant to the powerful effects of their enchantnts, and the eyes of the defenders looked like those hardened soldiers who had seen a thousand wars and were ready to fight a thousand more.
He knew that those powerful lee defenders were citizens of ndoza, probably ready to lay their lives in the defense of their ho.
Anton contemplated what his reaction would be if he were the one who was asked by a kingdom to lay his life in defense of his ho; he would have said that he would not have the courage to do so. He lived a very short, unfulfilled life back on Earth and would not want to experience the sa thing in this new world.
But he was tired of running. Ever since Anton had transmigrated to this world, it felt to him that he had been doing nothing but running away. If ndoza fell, he would return to Ormunda, since that was where the manor was, where his father was staying, and the magic academy where his sister was studying. There, if worse cos to worst and Ormunda was attacked by the Undead Coalition, he would not run anymore and do everything in his power to defend it, even if it might cost him his life.
Of course, Anton would not sell his life cheaply. He would make sure that the Undead would venerate his na as an enemy who laid down countless undead.
The mont he heard the alarm that stated that the undead horde was now within the magic array’s range, Anton imdiately started to cast his spell rotation. First, he made sure that all of his gear was ready, including his weapon, which was the Death’s Fathom Dinsional Shard. He saw that the wizards noticed his glowing wand, and if he must say so, the shard was a gorgeous piece of equipnt. He had always been wearing his other gear that he transferred from the ga to reality, like his Harlequin “Shako” Crest headgear, his Chains of Honor armor that he was wearing beneath his mage robes, the Beast Collar Amulet, and his Arachnid sh Spiderweb Sash.
Coupled with all of his gear that his Sorceress character was wearing, which was reflected in reality, and the stats that he had earned from leveling up his ladder characters, Anton was currently at his peak.
Anton first cast his Frozen Orb spell five tis in a row. He then cast the teor spell five tis in a row, then he cast his Hydra Spell ten tis in a row, then the Fire Wall spell five tis in a row, then the Blizzard spell five tis in a row, then Chain Lightning five tis in a row, then rinse and repeat. He focused on casting his Sorceress spells since his equipnt, both in-ga and out of the ga, was geared towards enhancing the Sorceress’s skill tree.
Because the magic array also enhanced the effect of spells, Anton could see that the area of effect and the damage of his spells were greatly enhanced. At first, he thought that because of the sheer size of the undead horde, his spells would look and feel like he was tossing stones in a river, but his spell casting did have a great impact on the enemy horde.
