Chapter 604

Anton and Charlie arrived at the barracks soon after, and they saw that Captain Leonard was actually waiting for them by the door.

“What has taken you so long? I’ve been waiting for 30 minutes!” Captain Leonard exclaid when Anton and Charlie got near him.

“We’re out shopping for spells. We did hurry ho without managing to buy anything the mont I heard your ssage from the token,” Anton said.

Charlie looked guilty, though, and Anton could only look at the druid wryly. Captain Leonard saw Charlie’s reaction and just snorted. Then he commanded Anton to follow him.

“What happened, Captain?” Anton asked as he and the captain walked towards one of the largest buildings near the west wall.

“I did tell you to prepare yourself to be assigned sowhere else. The Supre Pudonis will tell you the details. I don’t know anything more,” Captain Leonard said.

The guards who stood by the building's door did not stop them, and Captain Leonard just entered the building with a straightforward attitude.

Captain Leonard and Anton then entered one of the doors by the side and which led to a large eting hall. There were a bunch of old wizards having a discussion inside the eting room, and Captain led Anton to the side and silently waited. Normally, a bunch of old n and won’s eting would bore the hell out of Anton, but they were talking about interesting topics like the attacks of undead and what kind of rank the attacking undead had.

Anton was extrely surprised to learn that there was a rank above the Invincible, but he realized that he should not have been. They were called Semi-Divine. The rank above that was called Divine. He learned from listening to the eting of the old wizards that the ones leading the invasion of the Undead Coalition were three Semi-Divine rank liches.

At first, Anton thought that the wizards were being careless because they did not care that he and Captain Leonard were able to hear their eting, but apparently, it was intentional. They allowed them to hear what they considered trivial information, but for the important confidential information, they would simply cast a quick spell that would surround them with magical energy that prevented any sounds from coming out.

Based on the snippets Anton had heard, the eting was about to conclude. After waiting for about an hour, everyone finally stood up and left using the other door behind the huge eting table, except for Supre Pudonis.

“Thanks for arriving fast, Leonard, Anton, and sorry for disturbing your rest,” the supre mage told the two, who simply nodded.

Supre led them to another room, and when they entered it, it looked to be an office, and Anton assud that it was Supre Pudonis’s office.

“The reason I ask you here is that we want you, Anton, to be assigned to the center section of the wall. You are as powerful as a Supre Wizard, and your magical stamina is exceedingly impressive. I was also inford that you desire to inflict damage on the undead, and joining the other powerful wizards in the center section will allow you to do so. The center section has ten long-range and spell-strengthening magical arrays. The most powerful undead concentrated themselves on the center section. If you accept this new assignnt, you will have to say goodbye to your squad and will be permanently assigned to one of the mage’s squads,” Supre Pudonis told Anton.

“I accept, sir. We already prepared ourselves for this to happen. I just wish that you would give my Captain and my squad sufficient rit,” Anton said, and saw the captain briefly smile.

“The rits had already been added to their profiles, so you don’t need to worry. Go ahead and spend the rest of the day resting or with your squad mbers. At around 10 pm tonight, soone will co to your barracks to lead you to your new place of rest and then to the eting room where you will et your new squad mbers. All nine of them are Supre Wizards. You’re the only one who will be the archmage rank among them, but everyone understands that your magical stamina is among the best, so don’t worry too much about them. You will be the youngest. The youngest mage before you arrived was a 30-year-old wizard nad Cedon.”

After Supre Pudonis had said all he wanted to say regarding Anton’s new assignnt, Anton and Captain Leonard returned to the barracks, but halfway there, Charlie t up with them to lead them to the tavern where they could et everyone.

Anton and his squad celebrated until around three in the afternoon, and after that, they all returned to the barracks to rest for their shift later. Mauri, Suvina, and Fran separated from the n and went to their barracks to sleep. Anton and the others did not sleep imdiately. They talked for a couple more hours before they rested. Thankfully, everyone would benefit from Anton’s Pearl of the Ocean one last ti.

At around nine in the evening, Anton woke up and prepared himself to transfer to another unit. He did not do much to prepare since all his belongings were always inside his inventory, so after cleaning himself up, he went outside, and the soldier who was supposed to lead him to his new abode was already waiting for him.

The west wall of ndoza was so large that it took Anton and the one leading him to arrive at the central station 30 minutes by carriage before they arrived there. His new room, where he would stay to rest, was in a building a few minutes away from the gate that would lead him up to the parapets, where he would et with his new mage squad.

Anton was expecting to be assigned to a small room since he would only need the place to rest and nothing else, but his new abode was actually a luxurious apartnt with its own complete bathroom.

“I guess powerful wizards are not mistreated here,” Anton told himself while surveying the apartnt.

The soldier who was leading him was waiting patiently by the door. When Anton was done inspecting his new place, the man then led him to the eting room on the wall where he would et his new mage squad.

After walking for several minutes, Anton finally t the wizards who would be with him in the magic arrays at the center section of the wall, defending ndoza. All nine Supre Wizards were talking to each other. Anton saw that the wizards’ ages ranged from their early thirties to what appeared to be an extrely old man, around eighty years old. Still, of course, Anton knew that he should not judge based on appearance because there was a chance that the wizards were using spells to disguise themselves, but that was only his theory.

“Ah, this must be Archmage Sunder. The vaunted archmage who can cast supre-level spells non-stop for more than three hours without needing to rest. My na is Cedon. I used to be the youngest here, and now, you will be the new baby of the group. Thanks for relieving

of that assignnt!” The young-looking supre wizard who called himself Cedon said.

“Are you really just an archmage, Mr. Sunder? I have a rank stone here. Is it okay for us to give you a cursory test? My na is Supre Leilona,” One of the three lady wizards said.

When Anton said that he did not mind, Supre Leilona imdiately handed the ranking stone to Anton, and the results showed that he was indeed still just an archmage.
