Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Art Fanatic

Yan Yushi paced within the shop, looking at the paintings hanging on the walls around him.

Almost all of the paintings were of various weapons or wild beasts.

However, the weapons lacked any spirit, and the beasts were drawn horribly, devoid of any Spiritual Qi. Yan Yushi wasn’t disappointed because he had no expectations to begin with.

He was just passing ti here out of boredom.

The paintings here were far inferior to those the Yan family had bought at high prices, not even on the sa level.

In his view, Li Changqing hadn’t even reached the threshold of a painter.

And these paintings were pure trash, utterly incapable of leading one to enlightennt.

Let alone for soone like him, who had difficulty attaining enlightennt to begin with.

Shaking his head lightly, Yan Yushi decided not to waste any more ti here. He turned to leave, but just as he turned his head, he was deeply attracted by sothing on the shelf.

"What is that?" Yan Yushi walked over, face full of surprise.

A lifelike fierce tiger!

It was as if Yan Yushi was deeply captivated by sothing, taking step by step toward the wooden sculpture.

He stood there, bewildered.

This thing... was sothing Yan Yushi was seeing for the first ti!

Yan Yushi didn’t know what this was, but the impact the fierce tiger had on him was far stronger than the impact of any painting.

At this mont, in Yan Yushi’s eyes, the fierce tiger seed to co alive!

He could even hear the sound of the tiger roaring in the mountain forest by his ear.

It echoed through the heavens, shaking his ears!

The sound resonated, trembling his soul, making Yan Yushi feel an imnse pressure.

How can it be!

How could this thing have such power?

Yan Yushi had a strong premonition that if he contemplated this object, he would definitely have a chance for enlightennt.

To embark on the path of cultivation.

How could such a treasure exist in this little shop?

"Do you like my wooden sculpture?" Just then, Li Changqing walked over, seeing Yan Yushi staring at his wooden sculpture for a long ti, thinking he might be able to sell it.

"Wooden sculpture? This thing is called a wooden sculpture?" Yan Yushi was at a loss for words, as if any words of praise in the world dimd in comparison at this mont!

This object truly amazed him.

Yan Yushi’s tone suddenly beca respectful, bowing with clasped hands to Li Changqing: "Senior, I was just rude."

"Ah?" Li Changqing was taken aback, wondering what was going on?

When was he rude?

At this ti, in Yan Yushi’s eyes, Li Changqing appeared mysteriously unfathomable. This wooden sculpture was made by him, which must be more skilled than those painters hired by the Yan family!

"Senior, could this wooden sculpture be for sale?" Yan Yushi asked anxiously, thinking that such a treasure could hardly be for sale.

But Yan Yushi really wanted it badly.

He felt that this wooden sculpture was his hope.

With this thing, he would surely attain enlightennt and embark on the path of cultivation.

By then, the Young Clan Leader of the Yan family would still be him!

"This..." Li Changqing was about to say that, of course, the wooden sculpture was for sale, but just as he said one word, Yan Yushi knelt in front of him with a thud.

"Please, Senior, make it happen!" Yan Yushi said, full of anticipation.

Really?

Do you love this wooden sculpture so much?

Li Changqing could hardly believe it. Yan Yushi turned out to be such an art enthusiast!

"It’s for sale," Li Changqing quickly said, "Get up."

"Many thanks, Senior!" Yan Yushi was ecstatic.

"I don’t know how much the wooden sculpture costs?" Yan Yushi imdiately asked.

Li Changqing maintained the previous price, holding out five fingers.

Five taels of silver.

If Yan Yushi thought it was expensive, Li Changqing’s bottom line was three taels of silver.

Anything lower wouldn’t do.

Seeing Li Changqing hold out five fingers, Yan Yushi said nothing and imdiately took out a silver note from his sleeve, slamming it on the table: "I’ll buy it."

After speaking, without waiting for Li Changqing to react, Yan Yushi took the wooden sculpture in his arms and ran out, fearing Li Changqing would change his mind.

"In such a hurry?"

"A silver note for five taels of silver?" Li Changqing picked up the note, and was dumbfounded at first glance.

Five thousand taels.

It turned out to be a five-thousand tael silver note.

"Damn." A national curse escaped him. Li Changqing’s first reaction was that the silver note was fake; otherwise, why would Yan Yushi run so fast?

But after examining it repeatedly, Li Changqing really couldn’t tell where the note could be fake.

It seed real.

Li Changqing slumped into the chair, starting to doubt life.

A wooden sculpture sold for five thousand taels?

This was beyond being an art enthusiast; it was being insane!

He clearly understood the purchasing power of five thousand taels of silver in this world.

For an ordinary person, they wouldn’t earn that much in a lifeti.

His son, as a disciple of Dao Mountain’s ancient ground, barely made over a hundred taels of silver a month; who was this person, to be so wealthy?

Wealth aside, they must be foolish.

One deal like this and he could retire?

"Wait." Li Changqing cald down after the initial thrill; that was just a child, and who knew why the child had so much money.

But five thousand taels of silver wasn’t a small amount, even for so big families.

If the adults at ho knew a child spent five thousand taels to buy a wooden sculpture as a toy, wouldn’t they co to demand it back?

If he refused, it’d be a matter of getting skinned in this fantasy world, where power was truth.

"Alas." Li Changqing looked at the silver note in his hand and sighed, deciding to wait and see. If soone ca to demand it back, he’d return it.

If nobody ca for it...

Then he’d deal with it later.

The Yan family.

In the evening.

"Master, have you really made your decision?" Inside, a well-dressed woman begged the man in front of her, her face full of pain.

The man was the current Patriarch of the Yan family, Yan Botao.

His face showed not a trace of emotion, only determination in his eyes.

"I have decided, Ying’Er. Although I am the Clan Leader of the Yan family, it’s not solely up to ." Yan Botao said calmly, "Yu Shi will turn fifteen next year, yet he hasn’t even stepped into the mundane transformation, nor attained enlightennt, and won’t be able to lead the Yan family in the future. So, I have to make this decision."

"But that’s too cruel to Yu Shi." The woman looked heartbroken.

"He’s not young anymore. So things, he will have to bear sooner or later." Yan Botao sighed lightly, "If only Yu Yuun were a boy, she could inherit the Yan family, and it wouldn’t have co to this."

Saying this, Yan Botao stepped forward to open the door.

At this ti, six figures were already waiting in the courtyard in front of the door.

The eyes of all six were fixed upon Yan Botao.

"Clan Leader, have you made up your mind?" A man in a blue robe stepped forward and asked respectfully, "If you haven’t decided, we’ll continue to wait here."

"Let’s go." Yan Botao’s stern gaze swept over everyone, "We need to find Yu Shi. To depose him from his position as Young Clan Leader, we must tell him face to face."
