Elena’s POV

"Seriously? You’re going to cower behind an innocent human? That’s disgraceful, even by vampire standards," I declared, my voice echoing through the cave.

"I find that rather insulting," Julian replied as he stepped into the shadowy cavern. The master vampire imdiately tightened his hold around the trembling human hostage.

"Where are the others? You promised to bring your entire family," I demanded, my eyes never leaving the master’s pale face.

"They chose not to participate," Julian answered with a slight shrug.

"I don’t give a damn about their preferences. They need to be here. This monster makes all of you look bad," I snapped, my frustration boiling over.

"Why are you taking your anger out on ? Go find them and express your displeasure directly," he shot back.

"Believe , I plan to. Damned bloodsuckers. You can never count on any of them," I muttered under my breath.

A low, nacing growl rumbled from the master vampire, but suddenly Malakai materialized beside him. In one swift motion, he swept the woman into his protective embrace while the master found himself pressed against the cave’s rear wall.

"That stung a bit," Malakai admitted, glancing in my direction.

"But damn, it felt incredible to finally voice that truth," I replied with a wicked grin.

"Malakai, escort her to safety," Julian commanded. Without hesitation, his brother lifted the woman in his arms and vanished from the cave.

Now Julian and I stood face to face with the master vampire when I heard the familiar sounds of approaching footsteps. Dante, Vera, Wren, Evie, Petra, Clara, and Felix filed into the cave behind . All vampires united by a common goal - eliminating this particular bastard who tarnished their reputation and made their existence increasingly difficult. Especially considering they sustained themselves on animal blood rather than human.

"This seems rather one-sided," the master observed, straightening his posture defiantly.

"No, what was one-sided was trapped in the center of this cave surrounded by your lackeys with no escape route. I simply evened the playing field. Then I tilted it in our favor," I explained coldly.

His eyes darted around the space, clearly searching for an exit strategy. But Dante moved with supernatural speed to the master’s left while Silas positioned himself on the right. There was no way out without going through them, and they were prepared for exactly that scenario.

Regardless of his strength, we were all ready for this confrontation. We understood we couldn’t accurately gauge his power, so their instructions were clear - survival first. If the master hurled them aside, they should stay down until needed again rather than continuously charging at him.

That’s precisely how events unfolded. The master extended both arms and sent Dante and Silas flying backward into the cave wall. He attempted to flee, but we had anticipated this and blocked every possible exit.

Petra managed to intercept the entrance he targeted. Knowing he could kill her instantly, I sprinted up behind him and swept his legs, sending him crashing to the ground.

I seized him by the neck and grabbed a handful of skin on his back, then hurled him across the chamber until he smashed through his ornate throne, reducing it to nothing but scattered debris.

I approached him slowly as he regained his footing and bared his fangs nacingly. In response, I allowed my canines to elongate and my claws to erge.

This ti he charged directly at , but I sidestepped at the crucial mont. My outstretched arm caught his throat, sending him tumbling backward once more. I imdiately planted my foot firmly on his neck.

"Are you planning to continue toying with this creature, or will you finish it?" Silas inquired impatiently.

"I need him to understand that death is imminent," I replied, staring directly into the master’s eyes.

His expression transford the mont he realized I hadn’t co to capture him for experintation or interrogation. I was here for one purpose - execution.

In the sa instant he grasped my leg, I lifted it clear and dropped down beside him, sinking my teeth deep into his neck. I shook my head violently from side to side until his head separated completely from his body, then stood and kicked his severed head away from the corpse.

"Well, that was quite the spectacle," Silas comnted dryly.

"Incinerate all the remains. I won’t risk any possibility of survival," I ordered.

Clara retrieved a torch and systematically set every body ablaze as we began our exit from the cave. I remained at the entrance, ensuring she torched every single corpse, particularly the master’s remains.

I couldn’t afford to take chances that sohow he might survive this ordeal.

"I noticed flas at the other battle location as well," Silas ntioned.

"Yes, they’re burning the remaining minions they eliminated," I confird.

We erged from the cave as dawn approached. The scent of sunrise filled our nostrils, and Julian’s family needed to depart before daylight beca dangerous for them.

I expressed my gratitude to each of them for standing with in this fight. They assured that I only needed to ask - they would always provide assistance when I needed it most.

The threat was finally eliminated, and the innocent people in our territory could sleep safely once again.
