Chapter 44: Thoughts

“I used to like you very much and was very obedient to you, but this is not a reason for you to look down on .” Bai Ran looked at Chen Chen coldly. Her voice was very soft but powerful.

“Don’t always treat like a little white rabbit that you can wave over at will. I’m not as weak as you think.” With that, Bai Ran turned to leave.

At this mont, Bai Ran’s eyes suddenly beca clear. The determination and decisiveness in her eyes were sothing Chen Chen had never seen before.

He suddenly realized that he had never really known Bai Ran.

Even Jiang Yun, who was at the corner, could not help but look stern.

He had known Bai Ran for a long ti and had never seen this expression on her face. It was definitely not the gaze of a naive little girl.

He recalled how the staff in the company had praised her for being professional as a newcor. Later on, he had even especially gone to watch a live shoot.

At that ti, he had only thought that she was talented enough. But now, he had to reevaluate Bai Ran.

What was she hiding?

“Wait.” Chen Chen grabbed Bai Ran’s arm. “Don’t leave yet!”

Before Bai Ran could react, she was pulled into Chen Chen’s arms.

Bai Ran struggled for a while before saying, “Let go of !”

“I’m not letting go. If I let go, you might really disappear.” Chen Chen’s mind was filled with Bai Ran’s determined gaze. His heart seed to have split open.

He hugged Bai Ran tightly as if he was trying to fill the huge ravine in his heart with this real touch.

“Ahem.” Jiang Yun couldn’t stand the two of them hugging each other. He coughed twice and said, “Mr. Chen, you seem to have forgotten sothing. I’m Ran Ran’s boyfriend.”

“May I ask what you’re doing?” Jiang Yun glanced at Chen Chen’s hands.

This voice sounded out of nowhere. Chen Chen turned around and subconsciously loosened his grip.

Bai Ran felt the restrictive force weaken a little. She quickly pushed Chen Chen away.

“Are you that unwilling to let touch you?” Chen Chen looked at the empty space in his hands, his eyes filled with loneliness.

Jiang Yun quickly pulled Bai Ran to his side and placed his hands on her shoulders. He asked in concern, “Are you okay?”

“Don’t touch her!”

When he saw how intimate Jiang Yun was with her, the loneliness in Chen Chen’s eyes instantly disappeared and was replaced with sharpness.

“Let’s go!”

Bai Ran ignored Chen Chen and pulled Jiang Yun to the entrance of the movie theater.

Bai Ran left in a hurry and quickly disappeared from Chen Chen’s sight.

Chen Chen pulled out his phone in frustration and tapped on a number. “Ye Lin! Co out and drink!”

After leaving the door, Bai Ran’s heart cald down a little when she felt the breeze on the street.

Although she was very distant and decisive just now, it was difficult for her to go against the admiration in her heart for more than ten years. If she continued to stay here, she might not be so rational anymore and would almost run away.

In the bar.

“Why? Are you being bullied by your Ran Ran again?” Ye Lin teased as he took a sip of his wine.

“Can she bully ?” Chen Chen’s gaze was cold and expressionless.

“Stop pretending in front of your own brother. Look how many tis you’ve been drinking to drown your sorrows recently,” Ye Lin said as he pushed the wine glass on the bar toward Chen Chen.

“Looks like I can’t call you out again.” Chen Chen took the wine and took a sip. He looked at the golden liquid thoughtfully.

“Sigh, to be honest, you’re already unhappy.” Ye Lin pursed his lips. “I say, you deserve it. You clearly like Ran Ran, but you’re still so indecisive.”

“Who said I like her?” Chen Chen imdiately denied it and continued, “I like… Hu Wan.”

Towards the end, Chen Chen subconsciously hesitated for a second or two.

“Look, your own answer has already betrayed you,” Ye Lin said seriously.

“No.” Chen Chen lowered his head, unwilling to look at Ye Lin.

“Ask yourself this. If not for what happened back then, would you have really taken care of Hu Wan?” Ye Lin straightened Chen Chen’s body and looked him in the eye.

“Of course!” Chen Chen replied firmly, but he still turned his head subconsciously.

“Besides, she’s a patient. I won’t ignore her,” Chen Chen quickly added.

“Is that so?! Then isn’t it just responsibility?” The corners of Ye Lin’s lips curled up into a mocking smile. “Do you really think we’re blind just because we follow your lead and say that you and Hu Wan are a couple?”

“No matter what I do to Hu Wan, it’s impossible for to like Bai Ran.” Chen Chen, whose thoughts had been poked, grabbed the wine glass and recklessly drank it.

“Then why have you been delaying the divorce? Why are you not happy to see or anyone else touch her or say a word to her? Don’t you realize that only she can affect your emotions?”
