The two surgeons who were sitting behind the desks imdiately flinched in fear due to Ethan’s anger. They felt their souls leave their bodies for a mont. Even though the three people’s faces were unfamiliar, they could already sense that they were very powerful people. Especially the one that just banged his fist on their desk.
The surgeon with the bald hair was the first one to recover and he looked at Ethan, whose face had already turned ugly since they were just quiet and hadn’t replied yet.
"Excuse sir, but we don’t know anyone called Felicia Hart," he replied with the utmost respect even though he was much older than Ethan.
Erika interrupted him, "That’s impossible. Felicia had co here the previous day to have her costic surgery done by Mr Gilbert and I’m sure that you people must have assisted in the surgery at so point."
The two surgeons glanced at each other with confusion etched on each of their faces. They couldn’t quite understand what Erika was saying and that alone made her blood boil but she decided to be cool.
"We don’t know who Felicia Hart is," the second surgeon finally spoke. He brought out a book and continued, "This is where we write all of our patients’ nas and I’m sure that there isn’t any patient called Felicia Hart."
Both Erika and Ethan glanced at each other before she proceeded towards the book and opened it, in search of Felicia’s na. They had to turn page after page but after every turn, they couldn’t find Felicia’s na written anywhere in the book.
"This isn’t right," Erika mumbled to herself. She turned the pages again, starting from the beginning but still couldn’t find the na that she was looking for. She looked at Ethan and slightly shook her head. "Her na is not there," she said to him.
Ethan glared at the surgeons and he didn’t need to ask them anything before they started to explain.
"That’s all the nas of our patients written on the book and I’m sure that we haven’t made any mistake in skipping anyone’s nas," said the old surgeon. His body had started to lt and it seed to be immune to the aircon in the office.
"Did Mr Gilbert perform any surgery on anything the previous day?" Erika asked him and the man nodded his head.
He pointed at the last na written on the book. "That’s the na, Lucia Martinez. She was the one that Mr Gilbert operated on yesterday."
Ethan, Erika, and Edward frowned deeply, unable to understand what the surgeon was talking about. They were here looking for Felicia and suddenly they had the na Lucia Martinez written on the book.
When the three intruders didn’t make a sound yet, the old surgeon thought that they didn’t believe him and he continued to explain. "She was the lady with many cuts on her face and she ca here with a scarf to cover it up. In the beginning, Mr. Gilbert told us that we should assist him in the operation but suddenly changed his mind and only told the nurses to assist him instead and after a few hours, he had completed the surgery. Around evening ti, he suddenly said that he wasn’t to quit so he left," he spoke as fast as possible as if he was being held at gunpoint but the glare he was reviewing from them was way worse than a gun. It was like his oxygen was being sucked away from his lungs as the office turned uncomfortable.
Just when he finished talking, the younger surgeon nodded his head several tis, indirectly saying that his co-doctor was telling the absolute truth.
"Was Mr Gilbert the one who wrote down the na, Lucia Martinez?" Erika asked the older man and he nodded his head.
"Yes, he was the one who did it."
Erika’s hand dropped, nearly giving up. After hearing what the older surgeon had just explained to them, it only ant that the doctor had run away.
"How about Lucia Martinez, is she still in this hospital?" She asked him and he shook his head.
"A group of people ca here to take her away close to midnight yesterday and Mr Gilbert gladly discharged through a phone call," he replied.
Erika hissed out of frustration. They were so close to finding Felicia and now that they were here, she had already escaped.
"Do you know where Mr Gilbert went? I an the hospital he will be working for?" Edward asked them. He had been staying quiet, attentively listening to the exchanged words.
The older surgeon shook his head again. "He left without telling us anything. We don’t even know if he’s going to another hospital," he answered their questions. His white coat was already drenched in sweat and he just wished internally that they would believe what he was saying and leave the office already.
"What do you an?" Ethan questioned him.
The older surgeon gulped down his saliva in fear before he replied. "He ntioned that an important work had called for his attention and that there was a chance that he would leave and not co back here again."
Now Erika was shocked. It was very obvious now that the man was running for his life since Adrian was also hiding himself so that they wouldn’t be able to find him. From their interaction the day they went to the hospital, Erika already guessed that they were very close, and possibly, they were together at the mont, she thought to herself.
Erika turned to Ethan and said, "Let’s go, there is no useful information lying here for us." She turned and left the office. Both Edward and Ethan glared at the surgeons before following behind Erika and left the office also, finally giving the doctors the space to breathe again.
"I must say, Adrian is really smart," Edward stated. "He got Felicia discharged knowing fully well that Erika would co looking for her.
"That’s not all," Erika added. "He also had her na changed to confuse us."
