Ye Qilan got furious the mont he saw Su Hongxing showing concern for Xiao Ji.
That stupid woman—does she not realize Xiao Ji is playing the “wounded hero” act? So clueless. Why doesn’t she care about him instead? Why waste her concern on Xiao Ji, that drama king?
“I’ll go upstairs, but not now. I’ll wait for the doctor to get here. Are you making the call or not?” Su Hongxing glared at Ye Qilan.
Ye Qilan narrowed his deep-set eyes. “To you, who’s more important— or that drama king? When I hit him, did your heart ache for him?”
Su Hongxing felt utterly powerless and couldn’t be bothered to argue further with Ye Qilan. Was this really the ti for him to be throwing a jealous fit?
She quickly dialed the family doctor’s number. The doctor promised to arrive within twenty minutes, and only then did she feel a sense of relief.
When she stood up, she saw Ye Qilan standing coldly to the side, clearly enraged. He seriously had the nerve to be mad? Did it even occur to him that hitting Xiao Ji was essentially like hitting himself?

Once Xiao Ji fell asleep, Su Hongxing finally stepped out of his bedroom.
At the top of the staircase, Ye Qilan was waiting for her, blocking her path. Judging by his stance, he had been expecting her.
“What do you want?” Su Hongxing slowed her steps, tilting her head slightly to look up at Ye Qilan.
Already tall, and standing two steps higher than her, she could only lift her gaze to et his. She wondered if he was deliberately using his height to intimidate her.
“Be honest with —who’s more important to you, or him?” Ye Qilan demanded chillingly.
Su Hongxing thought for a mont and was about to reply when Ye Qilan suddenly cut her off. “Don’t give an answer now. Tell tomorrow!”
With that said, he stord off furiously.
Su Hongxing felt completely exasperated. Ye Qilan acted like a madman—were they not the sa person? She couldn’t very well just stand by and let him beat Xiao Ji to death.
As for who mattered more, it was undoubtedly Ye Qilan. But in his fit of jealousy earlier, he’d prematurely robbed her of the chance to tell him the truth.
Passing the master bedroom, she paused and knocked on the door.
Ye Qilan had his back to her. Looking at his tense, rigid posture, she softened her tone and said gently, “With you, it’s love. With him, it’s loyalty. If I had to choose, without question, you’re the only man who’s ever truly walked into my heart. So don’t ask silly questions like this again—it’s only you who could possibly get jealous of yourself.”
When she finished speaking, she closed his door and returned to her own bedroom.
On the other side, Ye Qilan was beyond thrilled, wondering if he was hallucinating. This seed to be the first ti in all this while that she had willingly opened her heart to him.
The overwhelming joy hit him like a poor man suddenly winning the lottery, instantly becoming a millionaire.
