Si Mingjing stood on the stage and said, "Thank you, Dean Chen. Thank you to every guest who has traveled far to be here. Thank you to the teachers and students of Yecheng University, and thank you to everyone who has co to listen to this lecture on conquering cancer."
She had prepared well for her presentation, and once on stage, she spoke with confidence and poise.
Although she had never formally attended school, she conveyed a depth of knowledge as soon as she began speaking.
She spoke of her master’s journey to conquer cancer in a way that was lively and interesting, avoiding the use of arcane academic jargon. Even Qin Jingqiu, who knew nothing about dicine, found it fascinating to listen to.
dical students from Yecheng University whispered among themselves, "Has she really never attended school? I feel she lectures more interestingly than our dical teachers."
"Traditional Chinese dicine doesn’t require formal schooling, as practitioners typically learn from a master from an early age. Perhaps that’s better in a way, focusing on one thing. Unlike us, who struggle through twelve years of study before we can concentrate on a specialty we’re interested in. If I had started learning dicine at five or six years old, I could talk about it just as confidently."
"There are quite a few esteed academics and experts from the dical field here today to listen to Si Mingjing’s lecture. She must be sothing special."
"Didn’t she say so herself? These are her master’s research findings; she’s just presenting them to the public. It’s her master who’s really impressive."
"Doctors beco more prestigious with age; this is true for Western dicine and even more so for Chinese dicine. Miss Si is so young, I doubt she is that capable herself."
Si Mingjing was around the sa age as the students, even younger than so of the dical students, which led many to doubt her abilities.
Many dical experts, particularly in the field of cancer research, were in attendance.
So of them had been studying cancer for decades. They listened intently to Si Mingjing’s lecture but didn’t think she or her master had much skill, attributing their success to good luck.
"Those who plant trees provide shade for future generations. Paclitaxel has long been recognized worldwide as the most effective natural cancer-fighting drug to date. Her master rely discovered on Prison Star that the Yellow Pine and the Short-leaf Rosewood Pine belong to the sa botanical family. This discovery allowed for a high-efficiency extraction of paclitaxel without the clinical toxic side effects found in the Rosewood variant. This doesn’t prove Chinese dicine is superior to Western dicine!"
"That’s right. It was Wani and Walt who made a significant contribution to cancer treatnt in 1963 when they extracted paclitaxel from the Short-leaf Rosewood Pine."
"If Yellow Pine existed on Earth, allowing for the extraction of natural, non-toxic paclitaxel, humanity would have conquered cancer by now. Her master just happened to be in the right place at the right ti, which only served to exaggerate Chinese dicine’s efficacy. At the end of the day, they just benefitted from standing on the shoulders of giants and achieved a modicum of success."
So Western dical professionals were quite resentful.
They believed that Si Mingjing’s master was able to tackle cancer simply because he discovered a Yellow Pine on Prison Star that could produce natural, non-toxic paclitaxel.
Luck played a big part in this success.
Just because of this, the dia dared to call Si Mingjing the beacon against cancer, claiming that Chinese dicine had cured cancer – too arrogant!
Even though Si Mingjing’s lecture was indeed brilliant, so in the audience wished to discredit Chinese dicine.
Moreover, several Western dical experts who looked down on Chinese dicine had co prepared, intending to dampen Si Mingjing’s spirit!
One Western doctor nad Wang Qing particularly detested Chinese dicine. His grandfather had believed in Chinese dicine and, instead of going to the hospital when he fell ill, sought treatnt from an old Chinese doctor. This led to a delay in his treatnt and ultimately his death. Wang Qing deeply hated Chinese dicine, blaming it for his grandfather’s demise.
During the question session, I must make everyone understand that it wasn’t Chinese dicine that was incredible; it was just her master’s luck, Wang Qing thought to himself.
He had prepared a complex dical case of a patient and wanted to see how Miss Si would treat it with Chinese dicine.
If she can’t cure it, then Traditional Chinese dicine is nothing but a scam!
He was determined to seize this opportunity to reveal the true colors of Traditional Chinese dicine as chaff! He must not let the world be swept up in a wave of TCM! Otherwise, more ignorant patients like his grandfather would end up dying at the hands of TCM practitioners! He felt he had the responsibility and the duty to let the world know that putting faith in TCM was a death wish!
At that mont, Si Mingjing’s lecture ended.
The host took the stage and said, "Now let’s move on to the question-and-answer session. We invite dical colleagues present here to share their explanations and views for an academic discussion with Miss Si, and we also welco the students to speak out enthusiastically."
Wang Qing imdiately raised his hand, but the host called on another doctor, saying, "Dr. Xian, please go ahead."
Xian Chen had raised his hand the highest, afraid that the host would not see him. He even stood up, standing out from the crowd, and imdiately caught the host’s attention.
Taking the microphone, Xian Chen said, "Miss Si’s lecture was extrely enlightening. I’ve always known TCM to be profound and vast. Many cases that are difficult for Western dicine have been effortlessly resolved in Miss Si’s hands—I’ve heard of a few such cases in A Country."
"For example, Mr. Mo’s son was my patient. After discussions with the entire dical team, we concluded that amputation was the only viable treatnt. We were at our wits’ end. However, with a single, decisive action from Miss Si, Mr. Mo’s son was cured. This forced to acknowledge her skill."
"There was also a young patient nad Sun Yuanyuan, who was brought to our hospital and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. But after Miss Si treated her with acupuncture, she actually cured her cerebral palsy!"
"Miss Si’s dical skills have beco legendary in our hospital. They say that her mastery of TCM can cure a hundred diseases. I deeply regretted never having witnessed her skills myself. Therefore, today, I’ve especially brought a patient. I wonder if Miss Si can treat him? This would allow all of us here to witness the breadth and profundity of TCM firsthand?"
These words were obviously provocative!
Yet many Western dicine experts in the audience silently applauded Xian Chen.
Si Mingjing stood unflinchingly on the stage and asked, "May I know what illness Dr. Xian’s patient has?"
Xian Chen made a phone call, and soon after, a patient was wheeled in from outside.
The sight of the patient caused a stir among the audience.
Qu Liushang stood up and shouted sternly, "Doctor, this is too much!"
The patient sat in a wheelchair; it was clear at a glance that he was a person with ALS!
Even if they wanted to test Ajiu’s dical skills, they should not have picked soone with ALS to put her on the spot.
Qin Jingqiu also frowned deeply, thinking to herself, This doctor is malicious, deliberately creating trouble to embarrass Mingjing!
The large man who had been standing in the back of the classroom for several dozen minutes was already furiously rolling up his sleeves, wishing he could punch Xian Chen all the way to the Pacific Ocean!
Only Mo Yinhe, with one hand propping his chin, sat lazily in his seat, not moving a muscle. He gave a devilish wink towards Si Mingjing, who had been pushed into the eye of the storm on stage.
It was as if he was saying: This heartless deed? I did it. I’m the one who found this stooge!
