Dong Xin Yan returned to the apartnt, collapsing onto the sofa. Her small ho was still as cozy and comfortable as ever, with all the arrangents and decorations thought up by her and Cheng Ziyang together.
During this period, too many things had happened one after another. Even though she had decided to part ways with Cheng Ziyang, she hadn’t yet had ti to properly pack up his things, leaving his shadow everywhere in this apartnt.
She had moved here after graduating from university, nearly over two years ago now. Over two years of mories filled the entire small space.
Everywhere she looked, she saw traces of him.

Dong Xin Yan blinked, tears unknowingly filling her eyes again. She rested the back of her hand on her forehead, closing her eyes, tears slowly seeping from the corners, slipping down.

The sky gradually turned dark.
Gu Ningyi’s tall figure leaned against the car, hands in pockets, lifting his eyes slightly to gaze at the floor of the apartnt where Dong Xin Yan was. It was still dark, with no light at all.

Suddenly, the phone rang. He slowly fished it out of his pocket, glanced at it, then pressed to answer, "Hello."
From the other end ca the composed voice of Secretary Lin, "Mr. Gu, Dr. Zhan just called, saying he agreed to co to China for Cheng Ziyang’s consultation. However, he still has so personal matters to deal with on his end and can only set off the day after tomorrow."
"Alright, coordinate with his timing. Notify the day after tomorrow and arrange a helicopter to pick him up directly. I want him to arrive in China in the shortest possible ti," Gu Ningyi instructed concisely.
Secretary Lin was slightly surprised, paused for half a second, and imdiately replied, "Understood, I will handle it right away."
