With the explanation from the people of the Lingxiao Hall, the players had gained a preliminary understanding of the Demon Race.
Demonization was actually a state, but this state wasn’t permanent. After a player died, this demonized state would disappear. In other words, demonization couldn’t be considered a race. The players gathered together, discussing where to start. After all, they were blazing a new trail and needed a good understanding to advance, right?
While everyone was still in a daze, people from the House of Evolution rushed over. A group of individuals in White Coats didn’t say a word. They dragged the corpse of the demonized person back and then created a stone platform using Earth Magic. The demonized person’s body was placed on the stone platform, and soon the group of White Coats surrounded it. Under the shocked gazes of the players, they took out dissection tools from their Storage Rings: scalpels, sterile gloves, dishes, forceps, disinfectant...
Seeing these professional items, none of the players could help but feel their scalps tingle.
What are they doing? Are these people from the House of Evolution all professionals?
"Damn! Does the House of Evolution really have so many talented people?"
"That just blew my mind! They actually dissected that demonized person?"
"I’m speechless! This is the first ti I’ve ever been scared of doctors. I don’t want to go to a hospital ever again in this life!"
"An autopsy, just like that. My heart aches for that demonized person, just for a second."
Watching the skilled craftsmanship of the House of Evolution mbers, many players were filled with terror.
Who on earth could have imagined this?
It seed that in the eyes of the House of Evolution, even a demonized person—and perhaps by extension, the true Demon Race—was rely an object for research.
The leading White Coat from the House of Evolution, wearing a mask, skillfully finished the dissection and then sutured the wound.
"Its structure is not much different from an ordinary person," the White Coat announced, his voice earnest. "However, its ability to unleash such explosive power is entirely due to the Demon Runes on its body. Take note: the strength of these demonized beings, and likely the Demon Race, is related to Demon Runes. These runes are probably where Demon Qi gathers. This is important."
He continued, "Furthermore, although the physical structure of a demonized person isn’t significantly different from the Human Race, after being invaded by Demon Qi, their internal organs enter a state of extre hunger. In other words, when an ordinary person undergoes demonization, they transform into an emotionless, bloodthirsty monster, driven solely by the instinct to devour."
Hearing the SCRITCH-SCRATCH of pens as the House of Evolution mbers rapidly took notes, the other players’ expressions changed.
Damn, this is serious business. It’s just a ga; do we really need to be this intense?
"What’s the deal with the House of Evolution?" soone muttered.
Dung Beetle touched his chin. "Are all these doctors abandoning their dical practices to play a ga instead?" he mused.
Everyone was dumbfounded. What kind of question was that? As if any of us would know!
Xu Nian was also shocked by the House of Evolution’s actions.
When it cos to dedication, the House of Evolution really takes the cake! Starting with a dissection? Who could even handle that?
"Old Zhu, take so people and capture a few Demon Race mbers. Our research needs living specins," the leading White Coat said to the Iron-blooded War Hero.
The Iron-blooded War Hero nodded imdiately and led the War Alliance into the dark red mist. Seeing the War Alliance take the lead, the other players also began to organize into teams and enter.
They were quite aware of the dangers lurking in this new frontier; one careless move could attract significant trouble. So, they needed to be extrely careful.
If we’re killed by a mber of the Demon Race, so be it. But if we undergo Demonization and then get targeted by the House of Evolution... Ugh!
Just thinking about it made them shudder.
"People of Wood Leaf Village, form teams of five and spread out! Your primary objective is to hunt down mbers of the Demon Race!" Dung Beetle promptly commanded. "If you encounter trouble, imdiately activate your Communication Ring’s location function. Nearby players must provide rescue support at once! If anyone undergoes Demonization, don’t try to resist. Let the Demon Qi consu you to complete your Reincarnation!"
"Understood!" the Wood Leaf Village mbers replied, their excitent palpable. Following Dung Beetle’s orders, the players dispersed.
Xu Nian was quite satisfied with the current situation. The braver the players are, the easier my job becos, right? Keep up the good work, everyone. I won’t forget your contributions once I advance my Realm.
Watching the players begin to scatter, Xu Nian turned with a satisfied expression and stepped into the Inter-Provincial Teleportation Array, heading back to the Profound Yellow Sect to wait.
After all, the Teleportation Array is right here. If mbers of the Demon Race discover it and use the array to co over, it’ll be a good opportunity to hone my skills.
As the players ventured deeper, they initially encountered only a few demonized individuals. No true mbers of the Demon Race had yet erged. These demonized individuals were of a very low level; killing one only yielded a single Contribution Point, and these points were awarded exclusively to the player who landed the killing blow. Those who assisted received nothing.
What a total rip-off! the players grumbled.
But it was precisely this scarcity that motivated them to work even harder.
Why? With such ager pickings, who could possibly be satisfied? We’re all players here; no one wants to miss out on a chance for rewards, right?
This was especially true. They had spent many Contribution Points during the recent Double Seventh Festival, and the Fourth Test Players didn’t have many to begin with. Consequently, Contribution Points had naturally beco the most valuable and important currency.
Dung Beetle, leading the Ao Xiang Squad, unknowingly ventured into a Dense Forest shrouded in thick fog.
