Fang Zhen stepped through the Light Gate. After a mont of disorientation, the scenery around him changed.
When he could see his surroundings clearly, he couldn't help but gasp in amazent.
He had appeared on a high mountain, a cliff edge directly before him. The mountain was so tall that it allowed him to survey the entire landscape below.
Looking out, he saw a vast, azure sea stretching to the horizon. In every direction, the edge of the water was shrouded in a thick, encircling fog.
He was now on a mysterious and enchanting island.
The island was like a brilliant jewel set upon the sparkling surface of the sea, its silhouette partially hidden by a shroud of clouds. Although the sun was not visible, a golden light shone through the haze in the sky.
His current location was a towering mountain, its peak capped with a touch of snow, like a silver crown upon the island's head.
Clouds and mist swirled around the mountainside, a mysterious veil bestowed by nature.
At the foot of the mountain, a dense forest covered most of the island. The trees were ancient and towering, their branches and leaves lush, providing a safe haven for the island's creatures.
Deep within the forest, he could faintly make out a serene lake, its water so clear it mirrored the sky and the surrounding green trees.
Every vista on the island was filled with a hazy, poetic beauty.
The majestic mountains, the mysterious forest, and the tranquil lake were a balm to the soul. It was as if he had stepped into a paradise far from the mortal world—a dream destination for anyone who yearned for nature and peace.
Looking at the island, Fang Zhen's mood improved considerably.
'Finally, a dungeon that isn't a complete hellscape.'
Although he still couldn't see the sun, this environnt was a massive improvent over the Naless World and the Curse Seal World.
It could practically be a tourist destination.
He quickly observed and morized the island's landmarks, noting the relative positions of the forest, the lake, and the high mountain.
At the sa ti, he understood that the Light Gate had appeared on the mountain peak mainly so that he could see it from any point on the island, preventing him from getting lost and unable to find his way ho.
'How thoughtful.'
After morizing the island's general terrain, Fang Zhen turned his bike around, preparing to head down the slope.
He planned to go to the lake first.
Whether beast or human, all living things needed to drink water.
Though the forest was teeming with life and might offer other sources of water, waiting by the lake gave him a much higher chance of encountering people.
He rode his Jue Ying motorcycle down the slope on the other side of the peak.
The motorcycle bounced along the naturally ford mountain path. Luckily, the slope wasn't exceptionally steep, so careful driving would be fine.
Fang Zhen didn't dare to go too fast, treating it as a mountain descent that he could keep under control.
After riding downward for a while, having descended what felt like several hundred ters in altitude, vegetation began to appear, and the trees grew more nurous and lush.
Surprisingly, on what should have been a pristine, untouched mountainside, the path continued to cut a line through the forest, extending downward as if it had been built by soone.
Fang Zhen felt a little curious.
He didn't dwell on it and just kept riding.
After descending another one or two hundred ters, the forest on both sides beca a dense, vibrant green, as if he had entered a lush, prival jungle.
Fang Zhen was focused on driving.
Suddenly, an extrely uncomfortable feeling welled up in his heart. He felt an inexplicable malice radiating from the road ahead, warning him that proceeding would trigger sothing dangerous.
At the sa ti, his Super-sense Precognition reacted.
He foresaw a Tripwire suddenly materializing out of thin air a second later, stretching across his path to throw him from his Jue Ying motorcycle.
He imdiately slamd on the brakes.
As the Jue Ying screeched to a halt, Fang Zhen yanked the handlebars, sending the motorcycle sliding along the ground. The friction scraped the paint off the side of the bike, but it also brought its center of gravity much lower as it skidded down the path.
Just as he perford this maneuver, a Tripwire shot up from the ground, barring the middle of the path.
Fang Zhen should have been thrown by the Tripwire, but his preemptive action allowed him and the bike to drop their center of gravity and slide right underneath it.
He wasn't stopped, and he didn't even look particularly disheveled. It was almost as if he had just perford a motorcycle stunt.
However, one entire side of his Jue Ying was now scratched to hell.
After dodging the Tripwire, Fang Zhen planted a foot on the ground and righted the motorcycle.
His eyes were like ice.
If it hadn't been for his Death Aversion and Super-sense Precognition, he would have fallen for that Tripwire trap.
He hadn't been going slow. A stunt like that wouldn't have killed him, but if he were wearing actual full-body armor, the fall would have resulted in broken bones and serious injuries at the very least.
His attacker was vicious.
Fang Zhen wasn't about to take this lying down. He kicked down the motorcycle's rear stand to park it, simultaneously grabbing the long spear from the front of the Jue Ying as he charged into the woods where the Tripwire had appeared.
The Tripwire hadn't been set there permanently; it wasn't an automated trap. Out of the corner of his eye, Fang Zhen had thought he'd seen soone hiding in the trees.
No matter who it was that tried to ambush him so viciously, he was going to teach them a lesson, even if he didn't kill them.
"Huh? He dodged it?"
A voice, seemingly quite surprised, ca from within the woods.
As soon as Fang Zhen entered the woods, he saw two people step out from behind a tree.
One was tall and skinny, the other short and stout. Both wore identical black robes that looked sowhat like those from Ancient Arabia, though they wore no headscarves. Instead, they each had a circlet on their head that looked like it was made of bronze.
The one who had spoken was the tall, skinny man, who appeared to be in his forties.
The man was gaunt and fleshless, his face expressionless, giving off an air of cold numbness.
