Chapter 705: Chapter 705: You’re Still Green if You Want to Fight !
While they were chatting, Qin Jiang appeared. He had two reasons for visiting this ti: first, to see his future father-in-law, and second, to find Erbao.
Qin Jiang paid Xiaobao a few complints, asked about Erbao’s whereabouts, and then, suppressing his excitent, he stood up to leave.
It was a good thing Qin Jiang was such an outstanding man; otherwise, Lin Feng would have felt the distinct grief of having his prized cabbage rooted up by a pig.
Fatso used every complintary word he could think of on Qin Jiang, feeling that the man truly deserved it. Lin Feng was also delighted to hear his future son-in-law being praised. He smiled and said, "Alright, let’s get back to our own business."
Fatso trotted after him. Seeing how Qin Jiang was trying to win over Xiaobao, he doubled back and told the boy with a beaming smile, "Whatever you want to eat in the future, just tell your uncle, and your uncle will buy it for you. Sa for toys. You can have anything you want, okay?"
Countless people were probably queuing up to shower Xiaobao with gifts, so he wasn’t the only one. Still, he had to be the most diligent of them all.
Xiaobao flashed his white teeth and said sweetly, "Thank you, Uncle!"
anwhile, a travel-worn Qin Jiang arrived at Erbao’s company. Her secretary announced that a ridiculously handso man was there to see her.
Erbao thought one of her brothers had co, but the secretary added, "He says he’s your boyfriend."
Erbao’s eyebrow arched. The word ’boyfriend’ left her a little stunned. But she quickly recalled that she did, in fact, have a boyfriend. If he hadn’t said so, she would have completely forgotten he existed.
Erbao put on a reserved air and coughed. "Have him co in."
The secretary, who was also a handso man, smiled and left. A mont later, he ushered the man into the office, considerately closing the door on his way out.
Erbao sat perched on her large desk, spinning in her office chair as she watched Qin Jiang with a half-smile.
For so reason, this man easily stirred her emotions—a woman’s emotions. She’d seen plenty of handso n, countless both at ho and abroad, and she’d even t others with his kind of appeal. But this was the first ti one had ever made her heart flutter.
"Yo, finished with your business? A mont ago, my secretary told
I had a boyfriend. I’d nearly forgotten you even existed."
Qin Jiang wasn’t offended and smiled faintly. "Your secretary is quite handso."
Her eyes lit up the mont she saw . She’s just putting on an act and pretending to be angry.
Erbao propped her chin on her hand and grinned. "He is quite handso. A graduate from a prestigious university, professionally competent, sensible, and obedient. Seeing him during my tedious workday is enough to cheer
up."
This was true. Erbao’s previous secretary had been a woman, and she was capable enough. It was just that she had a preference for handso n, so she hired one. The key was that he could act as her shield. There were too many diocre yet overconfident n out there. They had no idea of their own worth yet still flocked to pursue her.
Qin Jiang smiled. He was very good at controlling his emotions. "Did you miss
while I was gone?"
After all that, he should at least be a little jealous. But he had no reaction at all. How boring.
"Miss you my ass. I’m so busy every day I don’t have ti for that," Erbao said, half-joking and half-serious, as she picked up a file from her desk.
Qin Jiang sat down gracefully. "Busy? Busy enough that you still had ti to go to Renjian Fugui with your friends?"
Erbao flared up the mont she heard that. "How do you know? Were you there? What were you doing? Speak!"
Qin Jiang laughed. "I not only know you went out to have fun, I also know what you did."
Erbao had gone to M City on a business trip a while back and had gone out with a few of her close female clients. One of them was a wealthy heiress who had started her own business. She was capable and attractive, and Erbao liked her a lot. The crucial part was that their personalities clicked. They went to Renjian Fugui, and things got a little wild. It was only thanks to the good upbringing Lin Feng had given her that Erbao knew where to draw the line. She rarely partied that hard anymore. That was too close for comfort!
A little guilty now that Qin Jiang had brought it up, Erbao protested, "I didn’t do anything in the end!"
Qin Jiang had already guessed as much. He smiled faintly. "Who knows."
Erbao chuckled. "Never mind . First, tell
how you knew. Hmm? Were you there too? So, what were you up to? Spill it!"
The re thought of this damned man having fun while she was away made Erbao grind her teeth.
"That’s my friend’s club," Qin Jiang explained. "He ntioned it to ."
Erbao said, "Oh... So is that why he gave
a twenty-percent discount in the end?"
Qin Jiang raised an eyebrow. "What else did you think?"
Erbao had been preening like a peacock, assuming the man had taken a liking to her—after all, she had countless pursuers.
Qin Jiang then asked, "When do you get off work? I’m hungry."
Erbao glanced at the docunt in her hand. "It’s still early. If you’re hungry, you can go to the restaurant downstairs."
Qin Jiang didn’t speak, his aningful gaze fixed on Erbao.
Erbao got the hint instantly and coughed lightly. "Then wait for
a mont!"
Just then, Sanbao finished her tasks and ca over to ask Erbao when she would be heading ho. "Qin Jiang, you’re back?"
Qin Jiang smiled. "I just ca from seeing my future father-in-law. I haven’t been here long."
Seeing the situation, Sanbao said with a smile, "Alright then, Second Sister, I’ll head ho first. You two carry on."
Erbao nodded. "Sure. Tell Dad that Qin Jiang and I won’t be ho for dinner tonight, but I’ll be back later."
Knowing that both his daughters were in relationships, Lin Feng had ordered them to co ho every night and not stay out.
While Erbao worked, Qin Jiang lounged on the sofa to rest, his face showing a hint of fatigue. As soon as his mission ended, he had rushed over without a mont’s rest.
When she finished her work, Erbao delegated the remaining tasks to her secretary and called it a day. She squatted down to look at Qin Jiang and called to him, "Wake up, it’s ti to eat."
With his eyes still closed, Qin Jiang smiled. "Had your fill of looking? Am I handso?"
Erbao deflated his ego. "Handso? Are you as handso as my dad? By the ti you reach my dad’s age, you’ll probably be completely bald."
This comnt successfully silenced Qin Jiang.
Never mind the question of handsoness; he couldn’t make any guarantees about going bald. It seed he was already struggling with so hair loss... It was a good thing he was genetically blessed; otherwise, the eventual devastation might be too horrible to look at.
Seeing Qin Jiang struck by her jab, Erbao couldn’t help but laugh.
Trying to take
on? You’re still too green!
「In the evening.」
The Lin family had finished dinner. Zhang Yuxi kept checking the ti, wondering when her daughter would be ho. What she worried about most was her daughter getting pregnant before the relationship with Qin Jiang was official. She herself had gotten pregnant by accident, but she had been lucky enough to et a perfect man like Lin Feng. But there was no guarantee Erbao would be so lucky!
"If she’s not back by ten, just see how I’ll deal with her."
Seeing Lin Feng open a dical book, Zhang Yuxi grew anxious. "Why aren’t you worried at all?"
"What’s the use of worrying?" Lin Feng soothed his wife. "Our daughter is a grown woman. In the blink of an eye, she’ll be turning thirty. She knows what she’s doing. Whatever happens, she has the ability to take responsibility for her actions."
