Lunara frowned slightly, glancing around as if expecting soone to be watching her reaction. A na and a phone number. That was it. No ssage, no explanation. Just a slip of paper left under her plate.

She instinctively glanced at the waiter who had served them, but he was already walking away, attending to another table.

Naomi, noticing Lunara’s sudden distraction, leaned in. "What’s that?" she asked, her voice low.

Lunara hesitated before sliding the paper toward Naomi, who picked it up with a raised brow. "Huh," Naomi mused. "Are we sure this isn’t so secret admirer situation?"

Before Lunara could respond, Eryx’s voice cut through. "What’s that?" His eyes flicked between the two won, sharp and curious.

Lunara quickly crumpled the paper in her hand, her heartbeat quickening. "Nothing," she said, too fast.

Eryx didn’t look convinced. Without hesitation, he handed Mila over to Naomi and reached for Lunara’s hand. His grip was firm as he pried open her fingers.

"Open it," he demanded.

Lunara tried to resist, but Eryx was quicker. He snatched the crumpled paper from her grasp and smoothed it out. His eyes narrowed the mont he read the na written on it.

"Adam."

Without another word, he turned sharply, scanning the restaurant for the waiter who had just delivered their desserts. His gaze locked onto him, and he strode over.

"You gave her this?" Eryx’s voice was low, controlled but there was an edge to it.

The waiter blinked, montarily caught off guard. "I was just asked to deliver it," he said quickly. "It wasn’t from ." Sensing the tension, he gulped.

"Who?" Eryx demanded, his brows furrowing.

The waiter imdiately turned, scanning the café. He spotted soone near the exit and pointed. "There he is."

A man in a dark brown suit was walking out of the café, his pace steady but unhurried.

Eryx didn’t hesitate. With long strides, he closed the distance and grabbed the man’s arm just as he reached the entrance. "Excuse ."

The man halted, slowly turning his head. His gaze t Eryx’s, and for a mont, sothing flickered in his eyes before he smirked.

"Eryx," he drawled, his tone almost amused. "Didn’t expect to run into you like this."

Eryx’s grip on the man’s arm tightened. "Adam?" His voice was low, and seed surprised, "What are you doing here?" The question sounded edgy.

Adam let out a short chuckle, seemingly unfazed by Eryx’s grip. "Is that any way to greet an old friend?" he mused, tilting his head slightly.

Eryx didn’t loosen his hold. "I asked you a question." His voice remained cold, eyes scanning Adam’s face for any hint of his true intentions.

Adam exhaled through his nose, his smirk never quite fading. "Relax, I was just passing by. Thought I’d leave a little note for an interesting woman I happened to see." His gaze flickered briefly in Lunara’s direction before settling back on Eryx. "Why?"

"Interesting woman and it happened to be the one I was talking to?" Eryx’s voice was starting to lace with anger.

Adam raised his eyebrows, feigning surprise. "Oh? Why? Are you interested in her too?" His smirk widened as if he found the whole situation amusing.

Eryx’s eyes darkened, his patience wearing thin. "Cut the act, Adam," he said coldly. "You don’t just ’pass by’ and leave notes for random won... and especially not my wife."

Adam arched his brow and nodded briefly. "Wife?" He glanced briefly at Lunara again, then back at Eryx. "Now that is interesting. Didn’t peg you as the type to settle down."

Eryx clenched his jaw. "You’re avoiding my question."

Adam’s smirk deepened as he casually rocked back on his heels. "I thought you chose Seraphine," he said, tilting his head. "What happened? Did she reject your love confession or what?"

Eryx’s expression hardened, but he didn’t flinch. "This has nothing to do with her," he said sharply.

Adam let out a low chuckle. "Oh, but it does, doesn’t it?" He glanced at Lunara, then back at Eryx. "You were so sure about Seraphine back then. And now, here you are, introducing soone else as your wife. Makes wonder... was she a second choice, or just a convenient replacent?"

Eryx stepped forward, his jaw tight. "You don’t know anything, Adam."

Adam’s grin widened. "I know enough." He slid his hands into his pockets, eyes gleaming with amusent. "But hey, it’s none of my business, right? I was just curious."

Eryx’s patience was razor-thin now. "Stay away from her."

Adam held his ground, the amusent never leaving his face. "Woah... now, you’ve made even more curious."

Eryx’s jaw clenched, his grip tightening ever so slightly. "This isn’t a ga, Adam."

"Isn’t it?" Adam tilted his head, his gaze flickering toward Lunara once again for a brief second before returning to Eryx.

"You started the ga, Eryx. Don’t act surprised now that I want to play too." His voice dropped just enough to carry a quiet threat. "She seems quite special to you that makes you act this edgy."

Eryx’s jaw tightened. "She has nothing to do with this," he said through gritted teeth.

Adam let out a low chuckle. "Oh, but she does now," he murmured, rocking back slightly as if enjoying the tension. "Unless you want to admit that she ans nothing to you?"

Eryx’s expression hardened in an instant. "She ans nothing to ," he said flatly. "It’s just an arranged marriage."

Adam raised an eyebrow, his smirk deepening. "Is that so?" He let out a low chuckle. "Then you won’t mind if I take an interest in her, right?"

Eryx’s silence was enough of an answer.

Adam smirked. "Thought so." He adjusted his cuff, his tone almost teasing. "Well, let’s see how this plays out, shall we?" With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Eryx standing there, fists clenched at his sides.

Eryx exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair before turning back toward the café.

His steps faltered.

Lunara stood at the doorway, her expression unreadable, but her eyes told a different story. She probably had heard them.

For a mont, neither of them spoke. The weight of unspoken words settled between them, heavier than the conversation he had just had.
