The car has been in heavy silence since then. Lunara tried to tell her, but nothing ca out and Naomi chose to seal her lips.

As they neared the house, Lunara finally spoke. "Naomi," she turned slightly to look at Naomi, who was driving with an unreadable expression, "I know you’re mad, but I only just found out about this myself. I didn’t know that the man I married was your brother."

"Ara..." Naomi glanced at her briefly before shifting her eyes back to the road. "I’m not mad at you for that. I’m upset because you didn’t turn to when things got hard. If anything, I should bla myself. You’ve been suffering since you married him, and all I could do was offer you words of encouragent because you never let help." She sighed, recalling every ti she had tried to offer Lunara financial support.

"No, it’s not your fault. Maybe it’s true... maybe this is just my fate." She snickered, but her words sounded hollow in Naomi’s ears.

"Bullshit," Naomi snapped. "You make your own future, Ara. Sotis things don’t go as planned, but that doesn’t an you were dood from the start. This... this isn’t fate."

Lunara lowered her gaze, her fingers gripping the fabric of her clothes. "Then what is it?" she murmured.

Naomi sighed, shaking her head. "It’s a ss. A ss that you got dragged into, and a ss you can still get out of."

Lunara let out a shaky breath. "It’s not that easy, Naomi..."

"I never said it was easy," Naomi replied firmly. "But you’re not alone in this. So stop acting like you have to carry everything by yourself."

Lunara looked at her, searching for sothing in her expression. For the first ti in a while, she felt the smallest flicker of hope.

"And ask for a divorce. I’ll make sure you get your alimony. What a jerk of a husband you have." Naomi rolled her eyes as they finally pulled into the driveway. "I’ll support you a hundred percent if you divorce him, even though he’s my brother."

Lunara gave a weak smile but said nothing. As Naomi parked the car, she turned to her. "You don’t have to decide anything right now. Just rest first, okay?"

Lunara nodded. "Thank you, Naomi."

"Don’t thank yet. I’ll make you eat properly and sleep like a normal person again." Naomi smirked, getting out of the car.

But Lunara remained in the car, her head craning as she scanned her surroundings.

"You look like a erkat, you know?" Naomi teased, pulling open the door. "He’s still not back—probably roaming around town, looking for you." She giggled.

Lunara sighed in relief but quickly straightened up. "I wasn’t looking for him," she muttered, unbuckling her seatbelt.

"Sure, sure," Naomi smirked, stepping aside to let her out. "Co on, let’s get you inside before you start overthinking again."

"Thank you," Lunara mouthed the words as she pouted her lips, holding her emotions cutely. "I don’t know how to repay your kindness."

"Just don’t...my family’s wealth would not budge even if I support you for your whole life. So, please, ask for my help." Naomi pinched Lunara’s cheeks. "Oh! You must be hungry, let’s eat so—"

Naomi raised an eyebrow but didn’t push. "Of course, you can. I’ll bring the food up for you."

Lunara gave her a small, grateful smile. "Thank you."

Naomi sighed, squeezing Lunara’s hand gently. "Ara, you don’t have to hide, you know."

"I just... I need so ti," Lunara admitted, lowering her gaze.

"Alright, take your ti," Naomi said, forcing a smile. "But don’t lock yourself away forever, okay?"

Lunara nodded, and with that, Naomi led her inside.

At that mont, Eryx was boiling with anger as he still couldn’t find Lunara. He had gone to the place he left her earlier, his company, the bus stop, and now this shop was his last stop but she wasn’t here either.

Frustrated, he kicked a burned piece of debris on the floor, watching as it scattered. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a heavy sigh.

Eryx turned sharply. "Did you get the address?"

"Yes, sir," Callum replied, but his expression was serious. "But there’s bad news, Gideon Winfield was just arrested."

Eryx’s brows furrowed. "What?"

Callum quickly explained the details he had just learned, his voice steady despite the tension in the air.

"Never mind, just drive to his house. I need to make sure she isn’t there," Eryx said, turning and heading out right away.

As they got into the car, Callum started the engine and pulled onto the road. The silence stretched for a while before he spoke. "Sir, there’s sothing you might not know about that house."

Eryx, still staring out the window, barely reacted. "What about it?"

Callum hesitated for a mont before continuing, "The bungalow Gideon Winfield is living in right now, it was supposed to belong to Lunara’s mother. But after she was forced out, they took it from her."

Eryx’s grip tightened into a fist. "They chased her out of her own ho?"

"Yes," Callum confird. "From what I found out, Lunara’s mother fought to keep it, but in the end, she had no choice but to leave. Lunara didn’t even fight for it, she just walked away with whatever she could carry. And now, that man is living there like it was always his."

Eryx exhaled sharply, his patience running thin. "What about his business? Is it still standing?" He crossed his arms, leaning back in his seat. "If it is, tell Adam to deal with it." Closing his eyes, he tried to push down his frustration.

Callum hesitated before speaking again. "But, sir... what if Miss Lunara isn’t really your wife?" He knew he was pushing his luck, but curiosity got the best of him.

Eryx’s eyes snapped open, his gaze eting Callum’s through the rearview mirror. "What if you lost your job tomorrow?"

Callum instantly clamped his mouth shut.

Eryx scoffed, then ran a hand through his hair, the tension in his jaw evident. "Callum... the details, the hints... everything points to her. And you’re asking ’what if’? That’s exactly the kind of thinking my mother is betting on." His eyes darkened, his tone firm. "I won’t let her play ."

Silence settled in the car as they neared the Winfield bungalow. Eryx tapped his fingers against his knee. As the house ca into view, his eyes narrowed. "Let’s go," he muttered, pushing the car door open the mont they stopped.
