Chapter 219: Chapter 219 I Like Won
“Mum!!!!!!!!”
Wu Haipeng really did shout, so loudly that both Tang Chuxia and Mrs. Wu had to cover their ears.
Mrs. Wu scolded him peevishly, “What are you shouting for? Did I say sothing wrong? Do you have any idea how much effort your Aunt Hong and I have put into finding out whether you two are really dating soone?”
Wu Haipeng pulled the blanket over his head and gave up on listening any further.
The remaining Gu Beihuai had a face full of black lines, “Aunt, I like won!”
Mrs. Wu let out an “Ah,” “Didn’t you say you liked n yourself?”
Gu Beihuai: …
He felt like he was lifting a rock only to drop it on his own foot.
In order to anger Mrs. Gu, he had claid he liked n, and now it had beco a shackle he couldn’t shake off.
He rubbed his face and glared at a snickering Tang Chuxia.
He explained earnestly again, “Both Haipeng and I like won, not n!”
Mrs. Wu voiced an “Oh,” and then followed up with worried questioning, “You two brothers haven’t fallen for the sa woman, have you? I’m telling you, although you brothers have similar tastes, you can’t co to blows over a woman!”
Gu Beihuai felt exhausted. He also understood why Wu Haipeng had given up on communicating with Mrs. Wu.
How could there be any communication?
Their thought processes seed to be on different planes.
“Aunt, I can act as a witness. Brother Haipeng indeed likes won, and he has already secretly proposed without telling you!”
As for the remaining one, she deliberately said nothing, and it was obvious that Gu Beihuai noticed and was grinding his teeth in irritation.
But at this mont, he couldn’t really express his thoughts about Tang Chuxia; the two had always been at each other’s throats.
Mrs. Wu was infuriated by her son’s audacious move. If it weren’t for the fact that her son was still ill, she would definitely have given him a thrashing.
“You just wait, once your leg is healed, see if I won’t break it again!”
Mrs. Wu gave a command and went back ho to prepare for the proposal. How could they propose empty-handed? Wouldn’t that show a lack of sincerity? Now that her son finally had taken a liking to won, how could they let this chance slip away?
Mrs. Wu rushed back ho while Wu Haipeng sighed.
“I didn’t even ntion who it was, and she’s already this worked up!”
Wu Haipeng really admired his own mother’s gusto; anwhile, Gu Beihuai pointed at Tang Chuxia, “What did you an just now? What’s this about vouching for Haipeng? What about ?”
Tang Chuxia feigned surprise in response, “Do you have soone you like? Who is it? Your little sister will help you propose!”
Gu Beihuai gritted his teeth.
Wu Haipeng’s gaze swept back and forth between the two, “When did you two get so close as to jest with each other?”
Tang Chuxia put her hand around Gu Beihuai’s neck, looking smug as she asked Wu Haipeng, “We’ve always been close!”
Wu Haipeng scoffed, “That’s enough. It’s a miracle you two aren’t fighting. But Brother Huai, who exactly do you like? Is it soone we know?”
Gu Beihuai shrugged off Tang Chuxia’s hand, pointing at Wu Haipeng’s leg, “Take care of your leg!”
Tang Chuxia giggled, “Brother Haipeng, you’re lucky your injury isn’t too severe. If it were any worse, Brother Huai would have had to cling to Lin Qingchen’s leg and beg for rcy!”
When it ca to this topic, Wu Haipeng was very interested and pleaded with Tang Chuxia to tell more.
There was no way Gu Beihuai would let her speak; he covered her mouth and dragged her outside.
Wu Haipeng banged on the bed fra, his leg suspended, unable to move, he could only crane his neck to look outside, shouting as he did so, “Brother Huai, don’t create a scene, be careful or she might turn the tables on you!”
Gu Beihuai yelled, “Shut up!”
He dragged Tang Chuxia out, and just happened to run into the nurse who was doing rounds.
The nurse winked at Tang Chuxia, “I knew you two were perfect for each other!”
Tang Chuxia responded with a smile, silent because Gu Beihuai was covering her mouth.
Gu Beihuai couldn’t warn the nurse and could only plead, “Don’t go talking nonsense to my mom!”
The nurse indicated she understood, “I get it, I’ll just say you and Xiaxia were ssing around!”
Right after she finished, Mrs. Gu’s voice erged from behind them, “ssing around? Is this still ssing around?”
Mrs. Gu looked around and finally took a feather duster off the wall, chasing after Gu Beihuai, wanting to hit him.
“I’ll let you bully Xiaxia, have you no sha?”
Gu Beihuai ran away, leaving Tang Chuxia behind with instructions not to cause any trouble.
Tang Chuxia grabbed hold of Mrs. Gu, “Aunt Hong, don’t chase after him. Actually, I’m not at a disadvantage!”
Mrs. Gu thought it over and agreed, then took Tang Chuxia to the office to talk, ignoring her worry-free son.
In the office, Mrs. Gu once again scolded her son before asking Tang Chuxia what brought her there, learning that it was about Wu Haipeng’s situation.
“His issue really isn’t that big, Elder Huang ca over and helped with it!”
Tang Chuxia voiced her acknowledgnt, and Mrs. Gu continued, “Even if his leg recovers, he won’t be able to return to his previous condition. I guess he’ll have to retire!”
Mrs. Gu sighed, “So does Huai, I actually hope they all retire. It would be safer than going on missions!”
Tang Chuxia didn’t know how to respond, so she simply consoled Mrs. Gu, but it didn’t seem very effective.
Fortunately, Mrs. Gu soon got busy with a patient.
Tang Chuxia left the office only to be caught by Gu Beihuai.
He pulled Tang Chuxia’s arm and they left the hospital.
“What did my mom say about ?”
No matter how Gu Beihuai asked, Tang Chuxia wouldn’t tell him. In the end, Gu Beihuai led her to a dead-end alley and cornered her against the wall, “Are you going to talk?”
Tang Chuxia wasn’t intimidated by this tactic and extended both hands to hook Gu Beihuai’s neck.
Her body also moved closer to him.
“What? Are you going to force yourself on ?”
Tang Chuxia’s smile was brilliant, “Actually, you could be more direct, I prefer that!”
Gu Beihuai was speechless; he’d t brave won, but rarely had he co across one as shaless and straightforward as Tang Chuxia.
He tried to pull her hands away but found Tang Chuxia entangling him even more.
“Don’t be shy, I’m easy to appease. Just kiss , and I’ll tell you everything!” Tang Chuxia threw a flirtatious look at him, full of seductive aning.
Gu Beihuai just stared at her, wishing he could see right through her, to see what her heart was really made of.
The atmosphere remained tense.
Gu Beihuai had been interrupted many tis, but this ti he glanced around, saw the deserted alley, and figured no one would interrupt him again.
So, he held Tang Chuxia by the waist and lifted her slightly.
“Tang Chuxia, do you have a heart?”
Gu Beihuai’s voice, filled with endless complaints, rose beside Tang Chuxia’s ear. Far from frightening her, it actually made her body go limp.
“Then why don’t you open up and check?”
