This morning, she clearly woke up in the other person’s bedroom, yet didn’t see him, nor did she see him co down during breakfast... How to put it, although the maid had ntioned that the neighbor living opposite her didn’t want to et outsiders due to a leg illness, Jiang Nuan still found it strange upon reflection. After all, she herself was a doctor; although she hadn’t studied psychology, she had learned a bit, and patients in such situations tend to have so sort of world-weariness. Such personalities are often expressed in social anxiety, similar to what the maid described, with an unwillingness to interact with outsiders.
How could such a person easily take her in yesterday and even let her stay in the bedroom?
Very strange indeed.
The more Jiang Nuan thought about it, the stranger it seed, and she didn’t even notice that Lemon had already sent her many new ssages.
She was lost in thought for a good five minutes until Lemon, having run out of patience, made an overseas call to her, and Jiang Nuan finally saw the ssages on her phone.
[Raise Hand to Tug at Dimness: Did you see the neighbor living opposite you? What does he look like?]
[Raise Hand to Tug at Dimness: Speak up, I’ve been curious for a long ti, is he a handso guy or a dinosaur? Did you see him?]
[Raise Hand to Tug at Dimness: Oh man, go disappearing again, always vanishing when you’ve piqued everyone’s curiosity, it’s so frustrating!]
[Raise Hand to Tug at Dimness: Did you not see my ssages or are you purposely ignoring ? Could the neighbor living opposite you be a massively ugly guy? Nuannuan, reply to my ssages, it’s killing .]
[Raise Hand to Tug at Dimness: If you don’t reply, I’m going to call you.]
After skimming through, Lemon’s firecracker-like voice exploded on the other end, "What’s going on with you? Why aren’t you responding to my ssages? I’m here texting away, and when you see it, you could at least say sothing back."
Jiang Nuan rubbed her throbbing temples, standing up, and her legs were a bit numb, nearly collapsing back into the chair unexpectedly.
"I was just lost in thought and didn’t notice your ssages. I haven’t seen what the neighbor opposite looks like; I haven’t even t him."
"But you said he took care of you when you were sick?"
Jiang Nuan didn’t know how to explain that the care she ntioned was different from what Lemon imagined.
"It should have been the maid from his house who took care of ."
"So, from start to finish, you never saw that thick-skinned neighbor of yours?"
Feeling a bit embarrassed after yesterday, Jiang Nuan, who used to call the neighbor thick-skinned, explained helplessly, "I haven’t seen him, he seems quite mysterious."
"I thought you had seen him." The regret was palpable on the other end of the line, but Lemon quickly shifted her tone, "Forget it, let’s not talk about him. Is your cold better?"
Jiang Nuan had already recovered from the fever, after drinking so porridge this morning, she had regained quite a bit of strength, "Much better."
"By the way, haven’t you called Fu Yi yet?"
The re ntion of this na felt like a stone pressed against Jiang Nuan’s chest, weighing her down emotionally, she parted her lips and moved them, "I called."
The person on the other end seed quite surprised, "You called him?"
Jiang Nuan knew what she was thinking, so she quickly said everything she wanted to ask, "But I hung up just after connecting, and up till now, he hasn’t called back. Not sure if he didn’t have his phone with him or just doesn’t want to call back."
"...Fu Yi didn’t call you back?"
Even more surprised tone.
As if she had heard a cot collide with Earth.
Fu Yi’s feelings for Nuannuan were clearer than anyone else’s; what on earth was going on, could it be that Fu Yi had really let go?
