“Young people have their careers to tend to, it’s alright, next ti he’s back, just visiting will do. We don’t need gifts.”
“Mrs. Lin’s birthday entails a necessity for gifts, we surely can’t overlook that, otherwise, if my brother finds out I pocketed the gift he prepared for you, he’d definitely scold to death.”
Her words were feigned annoyance, but her expression was full of youthful coquettishness, which delighted Old Madam imnsely.
“He wouldn’t dare, if he scolds you, tell him to call , I’ll talk to him,” chuckled Old Madam.
Shen Siyuan, holding her hand and shaking it playfully, implored, “Mrs. Lin, the gift was specially prepared for you by my brother and , please accept it!”
Su Xiansui watched Shen Siyuan’s ingratiating and coquettish behavior towards Old Madam with disdain. Since failing miserably a couple of tis because of Rong Yan, she realized that whether it be her cousin or the rarely seen but prestigious aunt, both inherently protected Rong Yan. “There’s no need, I like anything you kids give !” Old Madam rarely received gifts personally, and showed no intention of opening it on the spot.
“Please have a look~ It was a gift my brother and I went through great lengths to obtain, I just want to make you happy,” Shen Siyuan persisted, as this gift she put so much effort into getting would be pointless if not opened on the spot.
