Chapter 41: Chapter fourty one:urges

After dinner, it was already close to ten o’clock.

Rosaline spoke up, "It’s getting late. Why don’t you stay the night here and leave tomorrow?"

"Alright."

Alicia stayed downstairs with Rosaline for a while, watching television before eventually heading upstairs to wash up.

Alexander, anwhile, was still working in the library.

Not long after, however, he began to feel dizzy. Closing his laptop, he stood up and returned to the bedroom.

The room was empty, but the sound of running water ca from the bathroom.

Alicia was taking a shower.

Alexander’s heart began to race as several images flashed through his mind.

His brows furrowed as an unusual warmth spread through his body.

He knew exactly what was happening.

Walking to the wardrobe, he grabbed his pajamas, intending to use the other bathroom to wash up.

But when he tried the door handle, he realized—

It was locked.

He tried again, but the door wouldn’t budge. Suddenly it dawned on him—the door had been locked from the outside.

He said nothing. He simply stood there quietly, listening to the sound of water running in the bathroom while an increasing restlessness grew inside him.

The sound of the water slowly stopped.

Alicia walked out and froze in surprise when she saw Alexander sitting at the edge of the bed. She had forgotten to grab her pajamas since they always kept spare clothes here.

Her hair was still damp, and she was wrapped in a bath towel that hung loosely across her chest, barely covering her hips. Her neck looked graceful, her shoulders slender and smooth. The towel could hardly hide the curves of her body.

Alexander seed to recall how it had once felt.

Her long legs, pale as milk, were exposed, smooth like satin.

Their eyes t.

Alicia quickly looked away and walked toward the walk-in closet.

"What are you doing sitting here? Why haven’t you washed up?"

Alexander’s gaze was dark and intense as he stared at her.

"The door was locked from the outside," he replied in a low voice.

Alicia imdiately understood and pointed toward the bathroom inside the room.

"I’m done. You can go ahead and wash up."

Alexander picked up his pajamas and entered the bathroom.

Inside the separated wet-and-dry bathroom, the scent of shower gel lingered in the air.

It was Alicia’s scent.

The fragrance drifted into Alexander’s nose, stimulating his nerves and sending the scent straight to his brain.

The heat inside him beca increasingly unbearable. Closing his eyes, his mind filled with mories of the intimate monts he had shared with Alicia.

anwhile, Alicia sat on the bed. After changing into her pajamas, she briefly scrolled through her phone before preparing to sleep.

After a mont, she suddenly realized Alexander had been in the bathroom for quite a while, yet there was no sound of running water.Feeling suspicious, she lifted the blanket, got out of bed, and walked to the bathroom door.

Faintly, she could hear heavy breathing from inside.

A few seconds later, realization struck her.

Her face flushed instantly.

She hurried back to the bed.

After a while, the sound of water finally started running inside the bathroom, then stopped.

Alexander eventually ca out.

Alicia felt the bed dip beside her.

Soon, she drifted off to sleep.

In the middle of the night, Alicia stirred half-awake when she heard heavy breathing beside her ear.

She suddenly woke up completely.

The breathing wasn’t from a dream.

It was Alexander.

In the moonlight, she glanced at him.

"Alexander... are you alright?"

"No," he replied, his voice hoarse.

"Why is your face so red?"

She reached out and placed her hand on his forehead.

It was burning hot.

"Alexander, you have a fever?!" she exclaid, sitting up imdiately in alarm.
