Mo Wenwan studied Lu Xing. Although she couldn’t discern his thoughts, there was one thing she knew for certain. Since the man she admired didn’t admire her, there was no point in patiently waiting for the right mont. Instead, it was better to actively seize the opportunity herself. And now, there seed to be a perfect opportunity right in front of her.

When Lu Xing heard Mo Wenwan’s words, he imdiately knew she was the sa type of person as him. He took the initiative to ask her about her life. Their conversation flowed naturally, and by the end of it, they went straight to a nearby hotel, booked a room, and, fueled by the intoxication of alcohol, embraced and ended up in bed together.
"Last ti, I didn’t take a good look. This ti, I’m going to make sure I carefully check every part."
Lu Xing exhaled softly by Mo Wenwan’s ear, prompting her to chuckle and tease him, her laughter gentle yet shy: "You’re really good at sweet-talking. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were everyone’s lover."
"I am everyone’s lover—loved by all."
As he spoke, Lu Xing’s hand caressed Mo Wenwan’s flushed cheek while simultaneously unzipping the back of her dress.

The two drifted into deep sleep. When they woke up the next morning, they were unusually calm.
Lu Xing watched Mo Wenwan’s figure, observing her practiced movents, his mind filled with conflicting thoughts. Soon, the clothes she had called soone to deliver arrived. She gave Lu Xing a faint smile before going into the bathroom to change.
"I never expected—she’s actually quite a steadfast person."
Lu Xing dressed himself neatly, and Mo Wenwan erged fully styled.
"Miss Mo truly lives up to her na, as graceful as ever."
Mo Wenwan didn’t feel particularly pleased by Lu Xing’s complint; she sensed politeness rather than genuine admiration. Even though they had spent the night together, their relationship couldn’t transform overnight—they remained strangers, unfamiliar and distant.
Lu Xing glanced at the sun outside and checked his watch: "It’s just past eight. Want to grab breakfast together?"
Mo Wenwan shook her head: "No, I prefer getting to the office early. Besides, I have a very important eting today."
"What a pity."
Lu Xing spread his hands and made a deliberately pitiful expression.
Mo Wenwan couldn’t help but think his "pity" wasn’t genuine, but rather carried a hint of relief, which amused her enough to make her want to mock him. However, after last night’s intimacy, she found Lu Xing to be an excellent companion in bed. She approached him and planted a kiss on his left cheek, then turned and left the room.
Lu Xing was left speechless by Mo Wenwan’s bold gesture.
He deliberately waited two minutes before leaving the room, handling the checkout at the reception downstairs on his way out.
The two went their separate ways, as if nothing had happened the night before. Mo Wenwan was resolute in her desire to investigate Lu Xing thoroughly—to find out whether he might gain the upper hand in the fight for the Lu Family’s inheritance.
