The director’s words made everyone present hold their breaths. Seeing Huang Shan in a bad state, Hua Tiantian had no choice but to put her energy into performing her new role.
Thanks to her professionalism, solid acting skills, and thorough study of the two female leads in the script beforehand, she successfully fild three scenes and won unanimous approval from the entire staff.
The assistant gave her a thumbs-up and said, "You were amazing! Have so water."
"Don’t praise . Didn’t you see the director’s eyes burning with fire?" Hua Tiantian comnted as her gaze involuntarily flicked toward ng Yan.
ng Yan noticed her glance and deliberately returned a thumbs-up, which caused his face to flush red.
"Tian Tian, what’s wrong? Is the water too hot? Your face is all red."
"Nothing."
Hua Tiantian replied as she shyly drank her water, though she couldn’t help but feel thrilled inside.
"How many scenes are left?"
The assistant flipped through the script and said, "Just the last scene—the one with the slap."
"A slap?"
Hua Tiantian suddenly rembered that, indeed, the final scene included a slap. However, with the roles switched now, it ant she would be slapping Huang Shan during the shoot. For so reason, it felt like revenge.
"Wait, revenge?"
"Once you’ve gotten your revenge, I’ll leave."
Her mind flashed back to sothing ng Yan had said earlier, and Hua Tiantian finally understood his words. So that was his aning all along.
"Could it be that ng Yan deliberately invested fifty million just to give an opportunity for revenge? That’s impossible—fifty million isn’t five thousand bucks. Even with all his money, he wouldn’t act that recklessly."
Hua Tiantian muttered to herself, understanding the revenge part but unable to make sense of ng Yan’s intentions.
Huang Shan was extrely worried, recalling how she had deliberately caused NGs before in order to slap Hua Tiantian over ten tis during a scene. Now that their roles had flipped, she couldn’t help but wonder whether Hua Tiantian would seize the chance to retaliate. Stroking her own face, she trembled nervously, thinking that if her face got swollen, how would she show up tomorrow?
Since ng Yan, his secretary, and bodyguard were on-site, paired with the director’s unwillingness to waste ti, all the reshoots were carefully tid. Thanks to Hua Tiantian’s exceptional performance, the overall progress of filming hadn’t been significantly delayed.
"Ready... action!"
Huang Shan looked at Hua Tiantian with a face full of worry, her eyes fixed on Hua Tiantian’s raised arm. Startled, she instinctively stepped back two steps, even dropping the script she was holding onto the floor.
The director didn’t lose his temper, but the other staff mbers were visibly disgruntled.
"What’s going on? Are you expecting all of us to stay up all night with you?"
"Exactly—the way this is going, who knows how long we’ll be shooting."
"Making everyone go hungry..."
The complaints from all directions caught Hua Tiantian’s attention. She turned to Huang Shan, frowned, and said, "You’re not planning on NGing a few more tis, are you? Wasting my ti is one thing, but wasting everyone else’s ti isn’t behavior befitting a professional actor."
"Who are you to lecture ?" Huang Shan suddenly snapped, furious.
"Because you haven’t even morized your lines. I didn’t even move my hand yet, and you’re already dodging."
Hua Tiantian’s domineering words left Huang Shan speechless.
The director, now fed up, slamd the script down and shouted at them, "We’ve shot this scene so many tis already. Huang Shan, if you don’t start showing so professional actor’s attitude, I’ll seriously consider replacing your role."
"Director!"
Huang Shan, anxious and biting her lip, looked utterly furious and resentful.
