"Looks like everyone ca to see you, President ng."
"Fifty million is just a number to . Oh, and you don’t need to thank ."
ng Yan paused mid-step, turning back to look at Hua Tiantian, who seed hesitant to speak. The smile on his face faded away.
"What are you even talking about? When did I ever say I wanted to thank you? So narcissistic."
Before Hua Tiantian could figure out ng Yan’s true intentions, she was almost stunned by how the staff were crowding around him. ng Yan’s presence was as magnetic as a top-tier celebrity; most of the onlookers were won, but there were even a few n who ran over just to catch a glimpse of him.
"Later, their scene will need to be reshot. President ng, if you have ti, you can stay and watch before leaving."
ng Yan glanced at the director, then at the chair his secretary had brought over. Without a second thought, he sat down. "In that case, let’s ask the director to start quickly. I have another eting later."
"Understood, President ng. Please take a seat. I’ll make the arrangents right away."
Hua Tiantian watched the director running back and forth, utterly dumbfounded.
The assistant finally found Hua Tiantian, holding an ice pack. Without a word, she pressed the ice pack straight onto Hua Tiantian’s face.
"So cold."
"Didn’t I tell you not to run around? Your face hasn’t stopped swelling yet. How are you going to put on makeup and shoot tonight like this?" The assistant scolded Hua Tiantian while curiously glancing at the upright and serious ng Yan.
"Why are you looking at ? I have no idea why he’s still here."
Facing the assistant’s curious gaze, Hua Tiantian followed her line of sight and saw the tardy Huang Shan approaching from a distance. Holding the ice pack, she muttered, "Later, I’ll have to reshoot the earlier scenes."
"What? Reshoot?" The assistant was visibly shocked.
"It’s the director’s idea."
Hua Tiantian said this, her gaze drifting to ng Yan, who seed more like a director than the actual director. Unexpectedly, ng Yan’s eyes t hers at precisely the sa mont. Their gazes locked, and even the air grew a little more ambiguous and awkward.
"Tian Tian, you and Mr. ng..."
"Don’t jump to conclusions. There’s absolutely nothing between and him. He’s just soone who didn’t have enough ways to spend his excess money, so he invested in the crew. He has nothing to do with ."
Before the assistant could finish her sentence, Hua Tiantian hastily denied any possible misunderstandings, fearing that people might think she and ng Yan had "that" kind of relationship.
"I didn’t even finish. I wasn’t implying that. I was just wondering if you and Mr. ng knew each other from before. Are you old friends? Otherwise, why would he specifically co to visit you on set today?"
"Visit ... on set?" Hua Tiantian pointed to her nose, unable to resist asking in disbelief.
The assistant nodded. "Anyone can see that Mr. ng ca here deliberately. Was he here to visit Huang Shan instead? What’s wrong with admitting you know soone like him, such a wealthy and influential figure? I know you like to keep things low-key. I get it."
The assistant’s knowing smile left Hua Tiantian no room to explain further. She could only cross her arms and helplessly sigh in ng Yan’s direction, thinking to herself: What did I do to provoke him? Sticking around so conspicuously in a place like this, I’m bound to get misunderstood! Heaven, help !
"What’s happening up there?"
Huang Shan noticed the commotion ahead, where many people had gathered. Among the cast and crew, several tall n in sunglasses and black suits stood out, looking like bodyguards.
"Sister Shan, I’ll go take a look."
Carefully, she made her way through the crowd, finally managing to squeeze her way to the front. As the assistant surveyed her surroundings, her eyes suddenly locked onto the man sitting in the center. The mont she recognized his face, her excitent and shock caused her to cover her mouth in disbelief.
