"The patient’s brain waves are extrely active, but her body seems controlled by sothing, and she can’t wake up no matter what. This condition is sowhat similar to a vegetative state."

"Vegetative state? Are you joking? Her brain didn’t even suffer any injury!"

"Due to severe trauma, she fell into a coma. While her physical functions have recovered, it seems her brain hasn’t received the signal. This condition isn’t unheard of. To wake her up, a strong stimulus is necessary—sothing physical."

Lu Qing’s expression turned grim as he responded coldly, "She barely escaped death. I absolutely won’t tolerate her suffering any more harm."

"What, you’d rather see her remain in this endless sleep?"

Lu Qing persisted, "Try other thods. She is my wife, and I won’t let her endure any further hurt."

At this mont, Mr. Jiu spoke up:

"Why not give it a try? If Little Jin’er wakes up, she might accept it. Besides, the expert I invited is already on his way."

"An expert? What kind of expert?"

Mr. Jiu said cryptically, "A monk."

"Are you ssing with ? A monk?"

Mr. Jiu didn’t explain, but he clearly understood that Little Jin’er had borrowed a body to return to life. She was just a soul residing in Qin Miaomiao’s physical form. He suspected that her current coma was closely tied to this matter.

When the monk arrived, he wore the distinctive robes of his order, yet he looked remarkably young. With lips like polished coral, teeth like jade, and a red mole at the center of his brow glowing vividly, his entire being exuded an immaculate purity, untouched by earthly dust.

Upon seeing Lu Qing, he remarked:

"You carry heavy karma from killing, benefactor."

Lu Qing’s expression froze slightly, but the monk clasped his hands together in a gesture of prayer and continued, "Benefactor, you should recite the Heart Sutra more often to release your entangled souls and cleanse the sins that weigh upon you."

Lu Qing sneered, "I already know that I’ll go to hell when I die. So what?"

Wu Jing shook his head. "Your karma is too heavy, benefactor. It’s likely to impact those closest to you. It would be wise to recite the Heart Sutra frequently."

That comnt about affecting those around him left a flicker of unease in Lu Qing’s gaze. Then Wu Jing approached the hospital bed, where Qin Miaomiao lay unconscious—her face still clouded with unease.

Her forehead had tiny beads of sweat, as if trapped in a horrific nightmare.

He extended his hand, placing it gently on her forehead. A subtle flicker of emotion passed through his eyes as he glanced briefly at Mr. Jiu.

With one hand resting on her forehead, he began reciting the Heart Sutra. It seed to calm her, her restlessness softening as she gradually descended into peaceful sleep.

In front of Lu Qing, he said nothing more. But outside the room, in private, Wu Jing confided to Mr. Jiu:

"There are two souls within that body. One is trapped, while the other is so faint, it’s on the verge of dissipating."

Mr. Jiu wasn’t surprised by his words at all. Matters of spirits and ghosts—soone like him, who had seen so much, found such revelations easy to accept.

If Little Jin’er hadn’t blocked that bullet for him, the person lying in that hospital bed would have been him.

"So, what should we do?"

"The faint soul is unstable. We’ll need to rely on the power of the Heart Sutra to free it from its predicant. And as for Lu Qing, his killing karma is imnse. Using him as a stabilizing force would help. I need to hypnotize him. Ideally, I’ll guide him into her dream."

"Then I’ll leave everything to Master Wu Jing."

Wu Jing clasped his hands together and smiled serenely:

"The young lady is soone blessed with a connection to Buddha."

Regarding Wu Jing’s plan to hypnotize him, Lu Qing did not resist. For anything that might save Miaomiao, he would never refuse.

Once inside the dream, he saw Qin Miaomiao—but stumbled upon sothing unsettling!

She was actually pregnant, and the man standing beside her was not him!
