Ye Lingran lingered at the door for a while, but the blazing sun was too much for her to endure. After hesitating for quite so ti, she reluctantly entered the password and walked inside. After passing through several doors, the cool air from the air conditioner imdiately made her feel at ease.
Seeing the house empty, Ye Lingran placed her bag and the things she was carrying on the sofa and coffee table in the living room. She walked lightly to the door of Yun Qi’s room, gently turned the doorknob, and saw the large room was silent. A familiar, handso figure she hadn’t seen for a while was sleeping soundly on the bed.
Ye Lingran closed the door, slowly approached the bedside, and gazed at his handso, sleeping face. Sitting by the bed, she gently touched his eyebrows and eyes with her hand.
Perhaps it was the faint scent of perfu on her hand, or the tender touch that caused the sleeping Yun Qi to slightly move his brows and eyes. He struggled a bit before opening his eyes, and what t his slightly blurred black eyes was a beautiful, gentle face. For a mont, he was stunned, but as his vision beca clearer, Yun Qi instinctively reached out to grasp her hand, softly murmuring, "Lingran?"
"You’re awake?" Ye Lingran was about to withdraw her hand when he opened his eyes, but he gave her no chance. She could only awkwardly smile and ask in return.
"Hmm, how co you...?" Yun Qi was a bit surprised. Such a scene had appeared many tis in his dreams. How he wished he could see her every ti he opened his eyes and enjoy the delicious breakfast she made. But he had to endure several months before this could beco a reality.
"Um, didn’t you say yesterday to co to your house today to find you? I rang the doorbell for quite a while when I got here, but you didn’t answer, so... I let myself in. I’m sorry..." Ye Lingran knew very well that entering soone else’s ho without permission was highly impolite, so she spoke with considerable apology.
Yun Qi fully grasped the situation and, seeing the embarrassed smile on her face, smiled himself, "Nothing to be sorry about. This will eventually be your ho, just a matter of ti. In the future, co whenever you want, and honestly, waking up to see you makes very happy." Saying this, he increased the force on her wrist and pulled her into his embrace, wrapping his other arm around her waist, murmuring softly by her ear, "I missed you."
Ye Lingran shuddered; his final words sent a delightful tremble through her whole body, as if her heart had stopped beating, and "I missed you" echoed endlessly in her mind.
"Did you... drink a lot last night?" Once she collected herself, Ye Lingran lifted her head to et his gaze, her face turning red as she quickly changed the subject.
"No."
"Really?" Ye Lingran squinted her eyes, genuinely skeptical.
Yun Qi chuckled and nodded, "Yes, really."
"Then hurry up and wash up! I brought breakfast for you." Ye Lingran quickly averted her gaze, intending to get up from his embrace, but as soon as she showed signs of leaving, Yun Qi pressed her waist back down, holding her tightly without a hint of letting go.
"You made it?" When Ye Lingran cast a puzzled look his way, Yun Qi smiled and asked.
"I made the sandwich. The porridge was purchased on the way here." Ye Lingran raised her eyebrows slightly, seriously explaining, "I didn’t make porridge this morning, haven’t gone to the supermarket in days, and there are limited ingredients. Plus, I don’t have a thermos at ho, so it would have been cold by the ti I brought it over. Thinking that you’ve been busy and don’t cook often, your fridge is probably emptier than mine, so I bought so porridge to bring over."
"Did you eat?"
"Yes, I ate. I got up a bit after seven, went to bed early last night."
"What ti is it now?"
"Hmm... when I left, it was around nine or so. Now, it should be almost ten! Aren’t you getting up? The porridge will be cold soon, and it won’t taste good."
"Okay, getting up."
"Then aren’t you letting go?"
"I don’t really want to."
Ye Lingran was taken aback, her face flushed, glaring at him. She never thought that soone so gentle and refined could be so shaless.
"Hurry up!" Ye Lingran gave him an annoyed look and seized the mont to escape from his embrace. Standing by the bed, she looked down at him, "I’ll wait for you outside. Hurry up and wash up."
"Okay." Yun Qi watched her retreating figure with mirthful eyes and couldn’t help but laugh. It truly was a beautiful morning; seeing the person he loved appear in front of him — what could be more blissful?
For the past half month, he had been engulfed in intense and busy work, having little ti to even have als with her, let alone see her. Talking on the phone every day was rare; he could only send her a WeChat ssage whenever he had so free ti, often unable to reply on ti. Sotis, she would send a ssage in the morning, and he could only respond in the afternoon or evening.
After getting up from the bed, Yun Qi stretched leisurely, even though he drank a bit last night, he wasn’t drunk. However, it was a truly restful sleep. He pulled back the light blanket, got out of bed, and went to wash up.
After Yun Qi finished washing up and walked into the living room, Ye Lingran had already set up breakfast on the table. She was standing by the kitchen fridge, drinking water with her head tilted back. Yun Qi lightened his steps, walked up behind her, gently encircled her waist, and rested his chin on her shoulder, "Thank you."
Ye Lingran was startled, almost choking on the water. She quickly wiped the water off her chin with her hand, turning her head to look at him, her face crimson with surprise, "When... when did you get here? Why didn’t I hear any footsteps? You scared ."
Yun Qi chuckled, "Really startled you?"
Ye Lingran playfully smacked the arms wrapped around her waist, "Go eat! I’ve prepared everything; otherwise, it’ll really get cold."
"Mhm." Yun Qi released her, only to take her hand, enclosing it as he closed the fridge door. Together, they walked to the dining table and sat down. Looking at the simple breakfast, Yun Qi unexpectedly found a good appetite, happily savoring the porridge.
