The phone rang once and was then hung up.
It still said, “The number you dialed is unavailable.”
Austin couldn’t help but frown.
Where on earth was his sister?
All he could do was send another ssage to his sister. “Sister, where are you? Mom and I have
arrived. Which floor are you on? We are coming to you!”
He was frantic with worry.
H
Unfortunately, there was still no response from the other side.
Lady Gill frowned and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Austin let out a sigh. “There have been no replies to m ssages, and she’s not picking up the phone
either.”
Lady Gill took a deep breath. “Then have soone take control of this entire building and check every
one of a
similar age.”
Austin imdiately nodded. “Okay.”
Then, he went to give that task to his subordinates.
Lady Gill said, “I’ll wait at the entrance. While you’re here, go check on Jackson.”
Austin nodded.
Lady Gill went downstairs.
Austin headed toward Jackson’s ward. Halfway there, he turned back to look at Nara, his gaze dark
and ominous as he said, “I suddenly realize sothing. Jackson must have arranged for you to be an
intern on this floor, right? Well then, co over here and take good care of Jackson! Otherwise…”
Nara imdiately clenched her fists, looking like she
was about to cry.
Keira stopped her, saying, “Nara, you don’t n to dean yourself.”
Nara tightened her jaw and waved her hands.
She had to be a doctor. After all, she had studied dicine for many years just to beco a skilled
professional.
When she and her brother were accepted to
their family was too poor to afford the
tuition, so her brother gave up his chance for her.
Her brother once said that although she couldn’t speak, she would definitely beco a good doctor and
might even be able to develop dicine to cure herself. That way, she would be able to speak and call
him “brother”.
For her brother’s dream, Nara worked part-ti and studied hard throughout the years, always ranking
first
in her class.
Now, she couldn’t allow a mont of impulse to ruin
her future.
She went straight into Jackson’s ward with a fruit tray.
Upon seeing this, Keira frowned.
She hadn’t forgotten the purpose of her hospital visit, so she didn’t follow Nara in, but instead, she
looked a
Austin. “Shall we talk?”
Austin asked, “What is there to talk about?”
He looked at Keira with disdain. “There is nothing to be said between you and !”
Keira sighed. “My brother didn’t falsify that dical
had tests done at three hospitals, all
showing azoospermia.”
Austin sneered. “And then what?”
Keira’s expression grew grave as she continued. “Then yesterday, all the doctors who tested him went
abroad, for the sa reason as your hospital’s doctor, to attend an international dical conference.”
Austin was taken aback.
Keira went on. “So there must be sothing going on. Austin, do you want to remain in the dark? Can
you get in touch with your doctor? Why don’t we get this cleared up?”
Austin stared at Keira for a while before suddenly sneering. “Do you think I’m going to believe you?
Keera, there is nothing we can cooperate on.”
Keira frowned. “What I’m saying is true…”
“Even if it is true, what of it? I’ve told you this matter has nothing to do with my family, so I won’t help
you. The Gill family and the Olsens are sworn enemies! The two families’ relations have been severed
because of
you!”
After saving this, Austin sneered and turned to walk
toward Jackson’s ward.
Keira followed behind him. “Actually, the misunderstanding between us is minor, and by now, you
should understand that Mary’s child is Ellis’s. She never lived a promiscuous life before. Don’t you think
you were wrong to slander her like that?”
Austin halted.
Keira detected a hint of change in him and pressed on persistently. “I know you’re not purely evil; you
just wanted to boast! You are different from Jackson…”
Austin and Jackson were indeed different.
Austin had a tough side, which was why he didn’t tell the truth when Ellis beat him up in the past.
Still, he usually maintained integrity in his action and dealings.
He didn’t force himself on Mary although having
boasted about it.
Jackson, however, forcefully made moves on a girl like Nara, who was barely twenty years old…
Austin found it despicable, and his pride wouldn’t allow
He could be reasoned with…
Austin sneered. “There’s nothing different between him and . You don’t need to try and drive a
wedge
between us.”
“I just want to cooperate with your company for once. Our families have always had a good
relationship. Why can’t we continue to do that?
“And besides…”
Keira hadn’t finished speaking when she heard an angry roar from Jackson coming from the ward.
“How can you be so clumsy? You can’t even handle so
fruit!”
