Once a popular and beloved princess, Elvida had lost her status overnight and found herself shackled in chains.

Her core was shattered, rendering her useless and void of mana. Her cri was classified as treason, and a day had already been set for her execution.

But just like Mike, she didn’t want to resign herself to such a cruel fate. Even if she were to die in the end, she wanted to clear her na and die nobly.

Now, Elvida had asked Mike to et her aunt and tell her she was innocent. If her aunt heard that, she would likely help.

After all, their relationship was like that of a mother and daughter, as Elvida’s mother had passed away too early.

Mike had no choice but to comply. Every Sunday was a day off for the middle guards in the Elves Departnt, while Saturday was a day off for the higher elves.

He counted on his fingers, it was currently Wednesday.

Five days from now, he would go to the Pesyr House which according to Elvida, was a hour away even if you ride carriage.

In thirty minutes, it would be his two roommates’ shift. As usual, the next team would arrive early.

Mike had already heard from Rafael that when he had lost consciousness earlier, it was Milk, one of his roommates who had taken him to the hospital. He planned to thank him.

Soon enough, the sound of combat boots echoed against the polished tile floor.

Mike slowly looked up, his gaze adjusting to the newcors.

Though he had never t them before, he could still instantly recognize which one was Milk and which was Wayne.

Mike found it hard to believe soone could be so pale, so pale he could literally see the green veins beneath his skin. The figure’s effeminate features made him resemble a woman more than a man. In fact, Mike had to glance at his chest to confirm whether this person could be a woman, but the flat appearance made it clear he was not.

Mike took in a deep breath to hide his slight shock.

"Brother Mike, are you okay now?" Why did his voice sound so high-pitched?

Mike’s heart was clouded with doubt, but outwardly he nodded with a smile. "Yes, Milk. Thanks for asking. I also appreciate your support earlier."

Milk laughed. "It’s nothing. It’s nothing at all." Then his expression fell a bit. "Haven’t I told you not to call ’Milk’ again?" He shot Rafael a glare. "At least if that moron wants to call that, I know he’s lacking a brain cell and probably wouldn’t rember that I told him to use my real na. But you’re different, Brother Mike."

Rafael’s eyes widened. "Yo—You! Who are you calling a moron?! You hussy!"

Milk rolled his eyes. "What? Angry now? Call ’Milk’ one more ti and you’ll be a dog."

Rafael stomped his foot. "Whatever! Whatever! I won’t call you Milk again, even though you act and look like one!"

"I wouldn’t call you a dog either, even though you act and look like one, always barking."

"I’ll kill you, bastard!"

"Co at if you can."

They were like siblings – chaotic as they taunted each other though it was clear that Milk... no, this alabaster-skinned young man had the upper hand.

Mike racked his brain, trying to rember Milk’s real na. He didn’t want to be scolded too.

But he just couldn’t recall it. Sighing internally, he guessed that Milk had been called that so often even he barely rembered his original na.

"Sterling, Rafael, stop disturbing the princess with your noise, will you?" a calm voice called out.

Mike finally noticed the man Milk, oh no, Sterling had arrived with. He breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, a normal person. This was his last roommate, Wayne.

However, he imdiately sensed the shift in the atmosphere as soon as Wayne spoke. Both Sterling and Rafael fell silent, exchanging only glares.

It was clear that this roommate of his held so degree of authority.

They exchanged a few more words as Mike and Rafael prepared to return to their hostel.

But before Mike could leave, Elvida, who had just woken in her prison cell stood up and called out groggily.

"Mike? Where are you going?"

All eyes turned to the beauty who had just woken up. Her appearance was refreshing and even cute, and the way her eyelashes fluttered was sothing else.

"My shift has ended, Princess."

"Oh, that’s bad," Elvida sighed, resting her head against the iron door. "Don’t forget to dream of , okay?"
