"Water Style: Great Waterfall Technique!"
Tobirama began by unleashing a massive torrent, flooding the terrain and creating a lake from nothing. This gave him an imdiate edge—after all, nearly all his techniques revolved around water.
"As expected of the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama... his water jutsu is absolutely top-tier. He picked a dry battlefield on purpose—just to show off and drown it in his own elent," Kinkaku muttered. But while marveling at Tobirama's technique, he wasn't standing idle. He quickly ford hand seals.
"Lightning Release: Gratitude Wave!"
Tobirama vanished instantly, using the Body Flicker Technique to dodge Kinkaku's attack.
"Water Style: Water Cutting Blade!"
A high-speed water jet blasted forward like a blade aid at the brothers. One of them raised the Seven-Star Sword to deflect it, while the other blocked with the Crimson Gourd.
But even with Tobirama's mastery of water techniques, they were no match for relics left behind by the Sage of Six Paths.
"So, those are the legendary tools of the Sage of Six Paths... The rumors were true. No wonder the Raikage died at your hands," Tobirama said coldly.
Without hesitation, he pulled out his signature kunai—the mark of his intent to go all out with the Flying Thunder God Technique.
"It's an honor, really... to die by the hands of the Six Paths' tools. Say hi to my brother and Aiwenhao when you get there, Tobirama!" Kinkaku sneered.
anwhile, Sarutobi Hiruzen and the others had already made it a considerable distance. Each of them had their own thoughts.
Sarutobi, chosen as the next Hokage, was deeply anxious about the war to co. Danzo, seething with jealousy, could only swallow it down. He had a chance—he just hadn't spoken up soon enough.
Still, Danzo knew better than to let his emotions show. Sarutobi was stronger than him. As for Uchiha Kagami—Danzo subconsciously dismissed him. Everyone knew Tobirama had no love for the Uchiha.
Of the group, only Kagami looked particularly troubled. He kept subconsciously touching his eyes.
If what his father had told him was true, then maybe... just maybe, he had the power to help Tobirama right now.
"Lord Tobirama said the Raikage may already be dead... That ans Kinkaku and Ginkaku are no joke. If I don't go, he might actually die out there. But with Lord Xiuyu's transcription seal, I might be able to turn the tide."
Suddenly, Kagami ca to a halt.
"Kagami? What's wrong? You outta chakra?" Sarutobi asked, mistaking Kagami's hesitation for physical exhaustion. "Bite down and push through it. We've got to get back to the village."
"You guys go ahead. I need to go back... to help Lord Tobirama."
Sarutobi's expression changed. "Do you even hear yourself? That's a battlefield where even Tobirama-sama might fall. What could you possibly do to help? Don't let your emotions get the better of you. Think this through."
Sarutobi wasn't trying to belittle him—he wanted to help Tobirama too. But he knew full well that if even Tobirama couldn't handle them, then soone like him—or Kagami—would be throwing themselves to the wolves.
"Trust , Hiruzen. Get everyone to safety. If I say I'm going back to help the Second Hokage, it's because I can help." Kagami's voice was steady, unwavering.
The truth was... he had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Yes, it was thanks to Su Xiuyu. With Xiuyu's power and the ntal strength passed down from Madara himself, Kagami had withstood the illusions that helped him break through to Mangekyō.
It wasn't sothing just anyone could do. You needed ntal fortitude and the right lineage. Without that—and without a guide like Xiuyu—trying to awaken Mangekyō ant death.
The Mangekyō, once considered incredibly rare, had been unlocked with ease thanks to Su Xiuyu's unorthodox thods. Of course, this was a well-guarded secret. Tobirama had no clue. In this tiline, Madara never died at Hashirama's hands, and Tobirama never got the chance to examine Madara's body, so he still knew very little about the true nature of the Uchiha clan.
"Take care, Kagami," Sarutobi said at last. No more argunts. Speed was everything now. If they could reach the village in ti, they might still summon reinforcents.
The group split up. Kagami turned back toward the battlefield.
"Kagami's too reckless," Danzo muttered.
At this stage, Danzo hadn't been twisted by power and paranoia yet. He and Kagami, despite the Uchiha na, shared the "Will of Fire" and were genuinely close. Danzo's concern was real.
"We can only hope Kagami has a trump card. We've got to hurry and get help."
"If even Lord Tobirama falls, who in the village could we possibly rely on?" Utatane Koharu asked bitterly.
He wasn't a direct student of Tobirama. Just a regular shinobi from a civilian background—he wasn't privy to the deep secrets of the village. The kind of news that mattered never trickled down to people like him.
"No. If it cos to that, we ask the Uchiha for help. If they step in, the problem is solved," Sarutobi said.
"Why ask them? Why not order them to go? This is about the Hokage's life!" Koharu shot back.
"You need to learn so respect for the Uchiha," Danzo said quickly, shutting him down. "They're not just another clan—they helped found this village. And don't forget, two ninja gods still walk among them. Even if Sarutobi becos Hokage, we can't afford to step on their pride."
Danzo still rembered the day they all asked their ntor who the strongest shinobi in the world was. Tobirama had answered, in a bitter, reluctant tone:
"Uchiha Xiuyu."
And everyone rembered—Xiuyu was the youngest of the three legendary ninja.
Back on the battlefield—
"Damn you, Second Hokage!" Kinkaku growled.
Despite their efforts, they couldn't touch Tobirama. He kept slipping through their fingers with the Flying Thunder God Technique, striking hard and vanishing again.
"Give it up, Tobirama. You're running low on chakra. Even your tricks have limits."
They were right about one thing—their Six Paths tools couldn't land a solid hit on him. Tobirama never gave them the chance to activate sealing techniques. The mont they tried, he blinked away.
If it hadn't been for the fact that he'd been buying ti for Sarutobi's group to escape, Tobirama might've simply fled by now. But he'd made his choice to hold the line.
Chakra surged wildly from Kinkaku and Ginkaku's bodies—red, ominous cloaks of Nine-Tails' chakra wrapping around them.
"So it's true... you can use the Nine-Tails' chakra," Tobirama muttered, smiling bitterly. "The rumors weren't exaggerated after all."
-------------
"Senju Tobirama, you can be proud of yourself. At least we didn't use this form when we fought the Raikage."
Kinkaku and Ginkaku stood tall, cloaked in blazing chakra coats. More tails sprouted behind them, and their chakra surged with wild intensity—they looked like mini Nine-Tailed Beasts.
"Legend has it that you were swallowed by the Nine-Tails for a month while trying to capture it, and you survived by eating its flesh and blood. Is this the result?" Tobirama asked calmly, trying to buy ti as he wrapped bandages around his wounds.
As expected, the infamous brothers weren't ones to pass up a chance to boast. Even on the verge of battle, they welcod a chat—answering the curiosity of the legendary Hokage was almost a form of pride.
"Tobirama, we'll admit it—you're far stronger than the Raikage," Ginkaku said. "And yes, although I don't know how you found out, we did gain the ability to take on a tailed beast form after eating the Nine-Tails' flesh. You'll never understand the hell we went through inside that beast for a month."
"But that disaster turned into a blessing. We got this power... and thanks to it, even your little Darkness Illusion Technique didn't work on us."
"I see... I was careless," Tobirama admitted.
"Brother, don't waste ti talking," Kinkaku growled. "After we kill Tobirama, we still need to get back to Hidden Cloud and rebuild everything."
"Right. Tobirama, this is where it ends for you," Ginkaku added. "Even if you escape, we'll just hunt down your disciples instead."
Their words were calculated—they were baiting Tobirama by targeting his emotional weak spot: his students.
"I don't get it. What's the point of targeting Konoha? Even if I die, do you two seriously think you can take on the village?"
Tobirama's voice was laced with sarcasm, but deep down, he was praying that Hiruzen and the others had made it back to Konoha safely.
"Konoha? Of course not. We're not suicidal. There are at least two people in that village we still can't afford to ss with... not yet anyway," Kinkaku replied.
"But you? You're not going back either."
By now, both brothers had fully transford into six-tailed beasts, surging forward like twin hurricanes.
"So fast!" Tobirama barely dodged the first strike—if he had reacted a second later, it would've been fatal.
Kinkaku and Ginkaku were terrifyingly fast, their physical movents boosted to near-insane levels by the Nine-Tails' chakra. Even Tobirama's Flying Thunder God Technique was barely enough to stay ahead.
Gradually, the brothers looked more and more like true miniature versions of the Nine-Tails. Tobirama could only evade using teleportation, his wounds piling up. Though he managed to land so heavy hits, the brothers' strength barely dipped—their chakra constantly regenerating their damage.
On the other hand, Tobirama's chakra reserves were running low. Even with the stamina of the Senju Clan, he wasn't Hashirama—chakra would run out eventually.
"Fire Style: Phoenix Claw Crimson!" a voice roared through the chaos.
It was Uchiha Kagami.
"Kagami! Why are you back?! Get out of here!" Tobirama barked, shocked at his return. The battlefield was no place for him.
"Flying Thunder God!" Without hesitation, Tobirama teleported to Kagami, hoping to warp him to safety.
"Flaw!" Kinkaku and Ginkaku instantly spotted the opening and moved in to strike both Tobirama and Kagami.
But the attack never landed.
"What the...?"
An erald green, skull-shaped chakra shield blocked their blows.
Susanoo.
"You've got to be kidding. Is that Susanoo?" Kinkaku asked, his voice mixed with surprise and skepticism.
"Huh... it looks way smaller than the rumors," Ginkaku added, unimpressed. "Guess the legends about the Uchiha were exaggerated after all."
They didn't realize Kagami's Susanoo was still in its basic form.
"Kagami, you awakened the Mangekyō?" Tobirama asked, still in disbelief. "Get out of here while you still can! I appreciate what you're trying to do, but you can't handle them!"
"Sensei... I'm not leaving. I ca back, and I'm not abandoning you again!" Kagami's voice was firm.
"Tch... neither of you are going anywhere!" Kinkaku snarled.
The brothers began drawing in vast amounts of surrounding chakra—they were charging up Tailed Beast Bombs.
"No... they can actually form Tailed Beast Bombs now?!"
Kinkaku fired first.
"Flying Thunder God!" Tobirama grabbed Kagami and teleported again, narrowly dodging the blast. As they reappeared at the next marker, Ginkaku's bomb was already barreling toward them.
"Shit—!"
A blinding white light engulfed everything.
When vision returned, standing in front of them was a colossal golden Susanoo, tall and majestic, like a god among n.
"What... the hell is that?!" Kinkaku muttered, stunned. "Is that supposed to be Susanoo too? Why is it so damn huge?!"
If safety had a form, this was it.
"Oh man, Tobirama, you look awful," a deep voice rumbled from the golden giant. "Didn't expect Kagami to use the trump card I gave him just to save your stubborn ass."
"Senior Xiu Yu... is that you?" Kagami gasped.
"Yeah. Just a fragnt of my consciousness though," the voice replied.
Even soone as proud and calculating as Tobirama felt genuinely embarrassed. So Kagami had returned because of a contingency plan from Xiu Yu.
"You don't need to say anything," Xiu Yu's voice echoed from the massive Susanoo. "Let handle this quickly. I don't want to put too much strain on Kagami."
"Damn it! Ginkaku, go all out! Don't hold anything back!" Kinkaku shouted, finally panicking.
The sheer size of the golden Susanoo dwarfed everything. It towered taller than mountains, its presence enough to make the brothers hesitate. They could tell—this was no genjutsu. This thing was real. And its chakra pressure alone was crushing.
"TAILED BEAST BALL!"
Both brothers launched their most powerful joint attack, combining all their chakra into one massive sphere of destruction.
But the golden Susanoo didn't even flinch.
It raised two fingers.
Snatch.
The colossal fingers casually caught the swirling mass of destruction. Then, in the blink of an eye, the Susanoo gripped both Kinkaku and Ginkaku like bugs, and the Tailed Beast Bomb exploded right in their faces—trapped in its grasp.
It was like watching a firecracker go off in the palm of a giant.
When the smoke cleared, silence followed.
Not a sound. No movent.
Just golden stillness.
The Susanoo gently clenched its palm—there was barely any resistance left to crush.
"It's over," Xiu Yu said. "Kagami, Tobirama—clean up and head back to Konoha."
With that, the golden Susanoo vanished, fading into specks of glowing dust.
Kagami staggered. A sharp pain lanced through his eyes. Fatigue washed over him like a tidal wave—and then he collapsed completely.
