Upon arriving in Nowhere, I took the docunts and first t with the mine workers. After checking the ledgers, I confird that the Collector had been severely exploiting the workers, so I improved their treatnt and raised their wages, which led them to accept as the new owner of the mine.
After that, I t with the people managing various shops and facilities. They too were happy to be free from the Collector and readily accepted as their owner.
While going around, I recruited several needed personnel, including Carina, who had been the Collector's slave, and Karuna, who had been one of the Collector's exhibits. The two were friends; the Collector had locked Karuna in a display box for being bad at her job.
"We greet our new master."
They pressed their hands together and bowed very politely.
"You're not slaves anymore, so don't call 'master.' Call 'Chairman Jean.'"
"Yes, Chairman Jean."
Having been severely abused by the Collector, they were deeply ingrained with a slave ntality that they couldn't easily shed.
'Well... they'll get better with ti.'
After that, while organizing the Collector's collection, I freed various beings and recruited those I needed. Among them was 'Howard the Duck,' so I recruited him imdiately.
"It seems a decent fellow has arrived. So, what am I supposed to do?"
"I'm planning to develop this place a bit. I'm going to build a broadcasting station. I'd like you to take charge of it. How about it?"
"Oh~ That's a great idea! Okay!"
I had four plans for Nowhere. First was refurbishing Nowhere — brightening up the dark mining city. Second was interaction with the Ravagers. I planned to create a guild in Nowhere, like the guilds in fantasy worlds, where the Ravagers could easily take on requests — also collecting commissions and selling weapons and spaceships.
Third was spaceship racing. To develop the economy, you need to create attractions. That would increase the floating population and accordingly, the economy would develop. But this was planned to start after the first plan, the refurbishnt, was complete. Fourth and finally, I planned to manufacture things I couldn't make on Earth due to scrutiny — for example, massive spaceships or special weapons.
After the cleanup, I gave one of the Collector's empty buildings to the staff to resolve their food and lodging. Nowhere had been run by the Collector through exploitation, so taking over didn't take long. Occasionally there were those who picked a fight, but after I physically educated them a bit, the problem solved itself.
Unable to stay here forever, I teleported to Earth to check if anything had happened in my absence. On Gundam Island, the long-awaited two Androids equipped with future technology were finally completed. They looked exactly like 2B and A2 from NieR: Automata, according to my preferences.
They had nanite-based healing as standard, and their skeletons were made of adamantium. Their hearts used the latest arc reactor combined with coronaite to simultaneously store and produce energy. The energy produced could reinforce their bodies, surround their weapons, and also generate shields.
Even unenhanced, they were very strong, but when enhanced, they possessed physical strength comparable to the Hulk. Their brains were equipped with learning AI. Additionally, they were pre-loaded with various information, including swordsmanship, martial arts, and general knowledge.
"Master, give us orders!"
As soon as they were produced, they asked for orders.
"You two are to call 'Jean.' That's my first order."
"Understood, Jean."
"And for now, I'm going to put you in my inventory, so standby for a mont."
"Understood."
I put them in my inventory. Since they were Androids and treated as living beings, I wondered if they wouldn't go in, but fortunately, they did.
Four additional Androids of the previous version were also completed. I nad them Nana, Nini, Mumu, and Myomyo. The ones with 'M' sounds were for Earth use, 'L' for personal use, and 'N' for space use. And since all the Androids were stunning beauties, I'd already commanded them to be utterly cold and unapproachable to prevent anyone from trying to hit on them.
I put Nana and Nini in my inventory, and left Mumu and Myomyo on standby. These two were going to manage Avengers Headquarters. With the Android business finished, I ordered Lala and Lulu to make the machines for the automated production line and the nanite producers needed to build an automated production line in Nowhere like on Gundam Island, then teleported to my ho in New York.
As soon as I arrived ho, Natasha and Cosmo ran up to .
"Where have you been, coming back only now!"
"Huh? What's going on?"
Natasha pointed at Cosmo and asked incredulously.
"Where on earth did you get Cosmo?"
"Huh? I just got him from soone who had him captive."
"Don't lie! I thought Cosmo looked familiar, so I looked him up. He's the dog the Soviets used for rocket experints during the Cold War! And Cosmo himself confird it!"
Having done a lot of work in Russia, Natasha seed to have quickly figured out Cosmo's identity.
"I never lied. I just didn't say 'Earth.' I rescued him from space. I'm right, aren't I, Cosmo?"
"Yeah! Right!"
Natasha looked shocked and asked again, unable to believe it.
"What?! That's true?"
"Yeah. I went to another realm from Asgard and found him. So alien had him locked up."
"I... I see... I feel like things are getting more and more beyond common sense."
"Cosmo probably ended up there drifting through space after the Soviet experints."
"Then what about his telekinesis?"
It seed Cosmo had used telekinesis while playing with Natasha.
"Well... he probably drifted through space and got hit by cosmic radiation or sothing. Wanda uses telekinesis too."
That was actually Cosmo's original backstory.
"Sigh... I'd like to get hit by radiation like that. I don't even know anymore..."
Holding her forehead, Natasha went to her room. I asked Cosmo.
"Any food left?"
"No, there's almost none left."
"Really? Then let's go buy so."
"Okay!"
I took out a Talaria RV and went around New York with Cosmo. He picked out several items from pet shops — food and treats — and after returning ho, I had Minerva order them in bulk online. Of course, I made sure to order a balanced variety so he wouldn't be picky.
"And you — you need to practice your telekinesis. That's how you beco a good dog."
"Really?"
Cosmo wagged his tail and asked again.
"That's right. If you can't control your telekinesis properly or use it carelessly, people will say you're a bad dog."
Since I knew the original story, I already knew Cosmo wanted to be called a good dog. I decided to use that to train him.
"Then I need to practice. How do I do it?"
I decided to use the sa training thod for Cosmo as I did for Wanda. Starting with large baby blocks.
"You need to assemble these."
"I see. I'll try."
"If you get hungry, tell Momo. But I'll only give you a treat after you finish assembling. If you get bored, tell Natasha and ask her to play with you."
"Okay."
After setting Cosmo up with his training, I took the Androids Myomyo and Mumu to Avengers Headquarters. Nothing much was happening there either. With so many mbers, so were resting, so had gone to shoot comrcials, and so were out taking down criminals.
I showed Myomyo and Mumu to their rooms and gave them clothes, daily necessities, and a card each. These were standard items given to all Androids.
"Now, you two will exchange information with Minerva and manage Avengers Headquarters. If you need anything, use that card to buy it. For manufactured items, ask Minerva. And from now on, call 'Chairman Jean.'"
"Understood, Chairman Jean."
Just then, Tony arrived and, seeing Myomyo and Mumu, said — true to form — starting with a complint on their looks.
"Wow~ This ti we have beautiful newcors. Jean, you should have introduced them to us when they arrived."
"Yeah, let's do that."
I announced over the PA that I would introduce the newcors. Everyone gathered in the lounge. I introduced Myomyo and Mumu.
"These are Myomyo and Mumu, who just joined. They're sisters of Mimi, who's on the Odyssey. They'll be managing our headquarters from now on."
After I finished the introduction, Myomyo and Mumu each greeted everyone.
"Hello, I'm Myomyo."
"Hello, I'm Mumu."
After the greetings, everyone started murmuring.
"Wow~ You an they're sisters of that ice queen Mimi?"
"They really are sisters. They have a similar vibe."
"Yeah, completely emotionless, cold won."
"Right, their atmosphere makes it impossible to joke around."
As expected, Tony produced the black box for the initiation ceremony.
"Ti for initiation, hehehe."
Then Myomyo and Mumu each reached into the black box, pulled out a mission slip, and checked it. Myomyo then ca to and kissed on the cheek.
"Mission complete."
But Mumu walked over to Tony and held out her hand.
"Give your underwear."
Tony seed quite startled. Vulture must have put that in as a joke.
"What??? Vulture, you bastard!!!"
"Please give it quickly. Otherwise, I will enforce compliance."
"Whoa, whoa~ Calm down, little lady!"
Mumu ignored Tony and slowly began to draw her sword.
"After observing your pulse, body temperature, and facial expression, the probability of you giving your underwear is less than 10%. Initiating enforcent."
Saying that would reveal she's an Android — I'd have to explain that later.
"Wait, wait! I'll give it to you! But I have my privacy, so I'll take them off in my room!"
Tony was extrely flustered.
"The probability has risen to 70%. Understood."
Mumu sheathed her sword and followed the grumbling Tony. She waited outside his door and successfully collected his underwear. The mbers who had followed along to watch were busy laughing uncontrollably.
"Pffthahahaha~"
"I knew he'd get it one day, hahaha~"
"Yeah, that's right! Kehehe!"
"Ah~ this is insane."
Tony said to the mbers with an angry face.
"Are you guys really going to do this to !"
Hahahaha~!!
Tony's angry expression only made the mbers laugh harder. Honestly, the situation was so amusing that I was also watching from among the mbers and laughing along.
Two months passed. During that ti, there were no significant events on Earth aside from Cosmo's telekinesis improving. Nowhere, however, began to change beyond recognition. I built my production line, house, and office in the highest part of Nowhere. Employing the drones from Earth and nurous workers, I brightened the streets and widened and paved the roads.
Hospitals, a broadcasting station, and the Ravager Guild were also built large and began operating. Regarding the guild, Stakar, the leader of the Ravagers, helped actively since they would be using it, so there were fewer problems than expected. Additionally, a large spaceship landing pad was built, and next to the guild, a weapon shop and spaceship shop were opened.
Not many people were using them yet, but custors were steadily increasing, so it was only a matter of ti. And since many people would likely be coming and going, I started building a large hotel and a bathhouse. It was my first city-building sim in a while, so I really enjoyed designing the city.
One day, Stakar, the leader of the Ravagers, visited and asked to build so bars with hostesses (entertainnt establishnts) since they had nothing to do but gamble. Because they had helped , I promised to build them near the guild. The Ravagers being space pirates, this part seed inevitable.
Pouring money into large-scale construction, I could see the economy gradually activating. People's faces were much brighter. That said, I wasn't wasting money. The materials for the construction were all supplied by using [Matter Manipulation], so only the workers' wages were being spent.
That was what had happened in Nowhere over two months. My secretaries Carina and Karuna had helped actively. At first, they tried to co into my room when I was resting at ho to attend to at night, but I told them there was no need for that in the future. It was another glimpse into how they had been treated. But now, I could feel that their expressions were genuinely improving, not just put on.
anwhile, the Androids Nana and Nini had recruited personnel to form a security force and handle public order. As the population grew, it was necessary. There were often large fights they had to go break up, and they'd co back injured. So I upgraded Nana and Nini's skin tissue with nanites for automatic healing and also ard them with energy shield bucklers. They were the first ordinary Androids to receive upgrades.
"This won't do..."
The population was clearly increasing, but the security personnel were insufficient. I thought about bringing out the 2B and A2 models I'd made for use in other creative worlds, but instead decided to create separate Androids for security duty.
I started producing male-type, large-frad, strong defensive Androids. Ten of them. They were programd with basic gun kata and martial arts. In addition, I continued producing drones — the ones made in Nowhere were combat drones equipped with plasma cannons and energy shields as standard.
As soon as the production facilities in Nowhere were complete, they worked hard.
"Phew... I'd need two bodies at this rate..."
I was definitely too busy lately. Hardly any ti to rest. It couldn't be helped until Nowhere stabilized.
"Man, I need to go to Naruto or sowhere and learn the Shadow Clone Technique..."
Another month passed, and the security Androids began being completed one by one. They were equipped with energy shield bucklers and plasma pistols. Each security officer was assigned two drones. This brought so slack to the security situation. So I had Nana and Nini help with my work.
Now the hotel and bathhouse were also nearing completion, and I built the promised entertainnt establishnts, making them quite flashy. I wondered how to recruit hostesses, but the Ravagers said they would handle it, so I left it to them. With things sowhat settled, I finally started building the racetrack.
'Why are the buildings going up so fast? Is this China?' One might ask, but this is space. Construction technology is on a different level from Earth.
"Now, just need to organize the residential areas a bit."
Just then, Carina said to .
"Chairman Jean, I'm told the Ravagers have recently been unable to keep up with the guild requests."
"Really? Alright, I'll go take a look."
I went straight to the guild to see what the problem was. Word had spread about the Ravager Guild in Nowhere, and requests were coming in from various planets. But with a limited number of personnel, they couldn't handle them all. So I discussed it with Stakar.
"Hmm... So you're saying we should divide requests by rank and assign easy ones to newcors?"
"Yes. Isn't it a bit much for veterans like you to be doing pet retrieval jobs?"
"That's true."
"Right. So let's give those to the newcors to help them build their skills too."
"Then the Ravagers will need to have ranks accordingly."
As expected of a skilled and experienced leader, he caught on quickly.
"Exactly."
"Alright. I think that would be more efficient too. And reduce risk."
Stakar, also having been extrely busy lately, readily agreed to the ranking system.
"And I'd like to recruit more personnel. We can't handle the incoming requests as is."
"True, we haven't had ti to rest lately. But if we bring in weirdos, trust will only drop further. I'll look into that issue."
"Got it."
Taking in Yondu's family would solve it imdiately, but that was hard to bring up.
