Chapter 15: Chapter 15 No Contact Information for Her
The boy was stunned for a mont, then realized what was happening, feeling sowhat disappointed, “Ah? They said it wasn’t necessary anymore.”
Sheng Xian said sothing to the boy, uninterested, and left the money on the keyboard before walking away.
The boy dejectedly stared at the change on the keyboard for a while, then got up and chased after him.
Sheng Xian had long legs and a quick stride; in just a short while, he had gone quite a distance.
The boy raised his voice, “Professor, Professor Sheng.”
Sheng Xian stopped, turning his head to glance at the boy running towards him.
His gaze was sowhat cold; the boy shrunk back for a second, then mustered the courage to ask, “Professor Sheng, the young lady at lunch, she’s your friend, right?”
Sheng Xian said nothing.
“Could you give
that young lady’s contact information?” The boy felt a chill down his spine under Sheng Xian’s gaze and subconsciously explained, “There were two extra dollars…”
Sheng Xian’s expression was calm, his tone indifferent, “I don’t have it.”
The boy was taken aback, “Ah?”
“I don’t have her contact information.” Not giving the boy ti to react, Sheng Xian lifted his foot and descended the stairs.
As he ca out of the dormitory, Sheng Xian’s phone in his pocket vibrated several tis.
He didn’t have many friends; his phone was usually quiet, often going half a day without a new ssage.
The only person who would send him a flurry of ssages like this was her.
Sheng Xian really wanted to ignore it, but after walking a few steps, he still pulled out his phone.
The ssages weren’t from her.
They were from Mrs. Chen.
“Sheng Xian, I’m sorry.”
“I can’t co to see you this ti.”
“My son is coming back from a business trip tomorrow, I have to rush back to see him.”
Sheng Xian was silent for a mont, then typed a few characters: “Okay, Mom.”
Two seconds later, he deleted the word “Mom” and sent just “Okay.”
…
Even though running into Bo Mu was quite upsetting, encountering Sheng Xian afterwards had eased Lu Jingyan’s irritated mood slightly.
Feeling up to working, Lu Jingyan returned to the company. As soon as she got out of the elevator, her assistant imdiately started reporting on the pile of disarrayed items next to them, “This bouquet of flowers was sent by Mr. Lin.”
Lu Jingyan didn’t even bother to lift her eyelids, “Throw it away.”
“This set of costics is from Mr. Xia.”
“Throw that away too.”
“They look quite expensive.”
“Then… sell it on a second-hand website, and donate the money.”
“…”
The assistant fell silent for a mont, then said, “Mr. Yang ca over again, he’s in the pantry right now.”
Lu Jingyan, “Which Mr. Yang?”
Assistant, “… the one who drives a Ferrari, the Mr. Yang who has been coming to our company whenever he has ti in the past half a month.”
Lu Jingyan couldn’t quite place him, but it didn’t matter to her which Mr. Yang it was. She nonchalantly “Oh”ed and walked towards her office. After a few steps, she looked back, “Has he been coming often these past half a month?”
“Yes, almost every day.” The assistant thought Mr. Yang’s sincerity had touched Lu Jingyan, and she was finally willing to grace him with a eting, “Would you like
to invite him to your office?”
“No need, I just wanted to tell you, he shouldn’t expect to co to our company’s pantry to freeload every day; rember to charge him.”
“…”
…
Suffering from lack of sleep the previous night, Lu Jingyan declined Chen Kai and Song Xian’s invitation to go to a bar and went ho early instead.
On the portal website she founded, she had an alternate account she used to check out gossip or ship couples when she had nothing better to do.
She wasn’t very active in updating her status, purely depending on her mood.
Aunt Sun’s epiphyllum that she had been nurturing for a long ti happened to bloom, and Lu Jingyan casually recorded a video and posted it.
Her account didn’t have many followers, so she hardly received any replies.
After posting, Lu Jingyan went to take a shower. By the ti she ca out, more than an hour had passed, and her account had a new notification.
An account with a na of gibberish comnted on her latest update, “Lu Jingyan?”
Lu Jingyan had never exposed any of her information online, and now, suddenly seeing her alt unmasked, she felt inexplicably uneasy.
Lu Jingyan didn’t respond and deleted the comnt.
Quickly thereafter, that account sent her a private ssage, “Lu Jingyan, long ti no see.”
“Lu Jingyan, do you rember this number?”
“0609.”
Lu Jingyan’s fingertips trembled, and her phone clattered to the ground.
