Lu Hanyan, the wife of Senior Mr Lu seed to be delighted to be talking to Li ZiChen. As Li ZiChen was known to be choosy on who he would talk with, and only those who are qualified enough could be on his good side. He wanted to be those people on Li ZiChen’s good side, to feel the privilege of being favored by such a wealthy family. So he was eager as he approached Li ZiChen, while Lu Hanyan, his wife had made a sneaky glance to him, telling him to go forward as she would try to soften the bridge between her and AiLin herself.

"I see," said Lu Hanyan to AiLin who had eyed the situation, "I was surprised to hear of your achievents, Miss Hua."

AiLin smiled emotionlessly. Truth is, she doesn’t know what achievents that she had done other than entering prison in such a young age. She was certain that Hua Family had pulled so strings to make it seed as if she had a great life, though all her youth, she had been locked in that prison that chipped away any youthful mories from her.

She smiled back at Lu Hanyan whose face was so similar to Lu Ping, "It is not too impressive. Everyone in my family is more impressive and had done things more morable than ."

"Oh please, not only are you so successful, you are also very humble," noted Lu Hanyan with a giggle. "If only I have a daughter like you."

"You don’t have a daughter, Mrs Lu?"

Lu Hanyan seed stunned as if sothing stuck on her throat. Usually people wouldn’t ask such question about her daughter, Lu Ping, as they knew how she had been kicked out of the family. No one would want to upset Lu Hanyan and thus brushed aside the fact that she once had a daughter who she had kicked out of the family certificate. But AiLin was different as she had just landed to Beijing and possibly knows nothing about her family situation. So taking no offense on AiLin’s words she smiled while shaking her head, "I do but she isn’t... very successful."

"Oh dearest, she is your daughter I’m sure she must have done one great thing to make her family proud," AiLin saw as she spoke the look given on Lu Hanyan’s face that was filled with embarrassnt and sha.

Eventually she croaked up, "Y- yeah."

"By the way," AiLin then crossed her arms and stared at Lu Hanyan’s earrings, "Those are such beautiful earrings. I reckon to see them before, it’s an antique isn’t it?"

"Oh!" Lu Hanyan was gladdened that the conversation topic had been steered away from her useless daughter to the earrings. Imdiately she respond, "Yes, it is! It’s amazing that you know about it, Miss Hua. This is an antique from—"

"—Dynasty Chang’s consort queen at the ti, Consort LinAn," when AiLin completed her words, Lu Hanyan was surprised as well as impressed. She nodded hurriedly.

"Indeed! I suppose it’s very morable because of the shape."

"And the story," AiLin remarked. "It’s said that the Emperor at the ti found the jade that was already in cherry blossom shape and recalled the Consort LinAn whose eyes would glimr like cherry blossom. Thus he went and picked it up for her. It’s then found and auctioned off."

"You know a lot about them, Miss Hua," said Lu Hanyan impressed. "I suppose you like antiques and auctions?"

"A little, yes," but for the reason why she knew those earrings is because... "Where had you gotten them from, Mrs Lu? I recalled that the person who had won it was a high school student seven years ago."

"Oh, well," said Mrs Lu as she touched the earrings, "My daughter had it... I suppose that person had given it to my daughter as a token of friendship and since then she had given it to ."

"I see," AiLin smiled softly, "I’d love to have that one day."

"Oh," Lu Hanyan laughed nervously, "But there is only one earrings..."

AiLin didn’t repeat her words as she smiled wordlessly. Li ZiChen then ca up toward them, placing his hand gently on her shoulders, "I’ll be bringing AiLin back with , Mrs Lu."

"O- of course," Lu Hanyan replied, looking at AiLin whose eyes were still on her earrings and then bowed her head, "I hope we can see each other again, Miss AiLin."

"Yes," she responded before turning away and walking further from the people around them.

Li ZiChen had noted the earrings earlier and noticing how AiLin’s eyebrows were furrowed as they walked from the couple, he asked, "Do you want those earrings?"

She chuckled and shook her head, "There is only one of them. Unless I snatch it from Lu Hanyan, there is no way I could have the sa one."

"You don’t have to snatch them," Li ZiChen responded which made her to stare at him and shook her head again.

"Oh co on, I may have killed soone but I haven’t gotten as far as robbing them," she then crossed her arms, "Those earrings were mine."

Back then in high school, she had managed to gather so money for herself. She also managed to enter an auction and won the earrings to her hand. It was her first ever accessories that she had bought with her own hands. Therefore she had quite an attachnt to the earrings which Lu Ping stole from her not long after. She rembered how the school was forced to take care of the problem and it seed Lu Hanyan had forgotten how she was called up to the school to take care of the problem where she strongly confird that the earrings had always been Lu Ping’s and the one who stole it was AiLin.

Yes.

Then Jiang Family was called to school as well but instead of claiming that the earrings were AiLin and helping her prove her innocence by the receipts, they had instead demanded her to apologize.

Lu Hanyan knew those earrings never belonged to her daughter.

She knew it was stolen from a poor girl.

Yet here she is, walking proudly with the earrings and even forgetting the fact that those earrings were stolen.

"Then we will get it back," Li ZiChen had bent his neck down. His whisper landing on her ears, "It’s not stealing if it belonged to you from the start is it?"
