Tu Hengsha pulled the covers over her head and tried to sleep.
However, so noises beco more noticeable the more you don’t want to hear them. No matter how much she covered her head, the sounds seed to dig into her ears, growing louder and preventing her from falling asleep.
She suspected she had slept too much on the bus!
After tossing and turning for a while, she threw off the covers, sat up, and let out a sigh of frustration amidst the sounds from the room next door. In her annoyance, she picked up her phone and dialed Ronggui’s number.
"Hello?"
The voice on the other end was raspy in the dark of night. Tu Hengsha inexplicably mixed it with the voice of the man next door.
She imdiately hung up, feeling foolish. Why did she call him about this? To ask him to knock on the neighbor’s door and warn them or to switch rooms with him? The first option was dumb, and the second was awkward. She decided to endure it herself!
She tried to sleep again.
Not long after lying down, the doorbell rang.
She poked her head out and asked, "Who is it?"
"It’s !"
"..." She managed to draw him over?
The person outside switched from ringing the doorbell to knocking, urgently pounding, "Open the door!"
She jumped out of bed, rushed to the door, and as soon as she opened it, he barged in and looked around.
"What... what are you looking for?" she asked, following him with small steps. With another person in the room, the sounds from next door seed less noticeable.
Naturally, he found nothing and turned to ask her, "Is there a problem?"
"Well..." There was an issue, but she was too embarrassed to ntion it. After hesitating for a long ti, she blurted out, "I... can’t sleep, wanted to see if you’re awake..."
His face beca as hard as a board.
"Heh... never mind... you can leave..." she said with a forced smile.
"Tu Hengsha!" It was the first ti he almost gritted her na through clenched teeth.
His expression of having been teased suddenly made her feel a foot shorter, and she lowered herself to respond ekly, "Yes, yes... Mr. Su... I’m here..."
Perhaps her deanor amused him, as his stormy expression cleared up considerably, and he looked at her with interest.
At this mont, a loud cry ca from next door, followed by muffled murmurs...
Alright, that was it...
Tu Hengsha looked resigned and indifferent.
Ronggui also understood what was going on, looking even more nonchalant than her.
Tu Hengsha secretly humd to herself several tis, showing displeasure. This reaction was clearly not from a good person! At least soone else had already reaped the first crop from this plot of land! Although it had nothing to do with her, she couldn’t help feeling unhappy!
"Tu Hengsha!" He enunciated each syllable of her na, "Next ti you call, please at least say a few words! Let know there’s no murder happening! Or at least take a breath to show you’re still alive!"
She scrunched up her nose and responded with a couple of "uh-huh" sounds.
"What does that an?" Was she dismissive?
"It just ans ’uh-huh’!" Expressing disdain!
He looked at her silently for a few seconds, "If you can’t sleep, go sleep in my room."
He handed her the room card.
"Oh... alright... thank you!" She really didn’t want to be disturbed by the noise here, so she took the room card without hesitation and ran. When she reached the door, a thought struck her, and she asked, "Mr. Su, if you listen to that stuff for a while and can’t sleep, what then?"
"..." He glared at her. The implications of her question were too many, what exactly did she an?
"..." She seriously nodded. Her eyes spoke to him: Exactly what you think! It’s said that n find it harder to control themselves?
He raised an eyebrow and asked directly, "Do you have a solution for that?"
She shook her head vigorously and dashed off...
