Wait a minute...
Ann Vaughn suddenly raised her eyes to look at the wall of the maze in front of her. Could it be...
Is the entire maze wall covered with her photographs?
With indescribable expectation and nervousness, Ann Vaughn started to walk deeper into the maze.
Just as she suspected, every section of the flower wall she passed was filled with her photographs.
And behind each photo, there was a sentence handwritten by Cyrus Hawthorne.
Ann Vaughn couldn’t help but quicken her pace, circling around and around, until she finally reached the end of the flower wall maze—
"Boom—"
As Ann Vaughn stepped out of the maze, beautiful and resplendent fireworks rose into the night sky, illuminating the heavens instantly.
Not far off, a vast and vibrant sea of red roses appeared before her unexpectedly.
So beautiful, it was like a dream.
Ann Vaughn couldn’t help but step forward to see this magnificent view more clearly.
Standing in the very center of the sea of flowers, she inhaled the faint fragrance. The coolness brought by the evening breeze seed to be offset by the fervent red, so she felt no chill at all.
Unexpectedly, when Ann Vaughn looked up, she saw a tall, graceful figure approaching her from the other end of the rose sea.
He was dressed in a pure black suit, dignified and noble, like a nobleman from the last century.
Ann Vaughn’s eyes flickered, and by the ti she regained focus, the man had already co before her.
The light from the path cast upon Cyrus Hawthorne, highlighting his increasingly profound features, and inside his eyes that looked at Ann Vaughn was a warmth that could intoxicate.
"Ann Vaughn." He suddenly spoke, extending a bouquet of navy blue forget--nots to her.
Ann Vaughn’s heart inexplicably tightened, and she nodded subconsciously, "Yes!"
A trace of a smile, along with a hint of imperceptible solemnity, flashed through Cyrus Hawthorne’s long, dark eyes, "What I am about to say next, I will only say once, so listen carefully."
"What do you have to say?" eting his focused and serious eyes, Ann Vaughn inexplicably felt a wave of nervousness.
At this mont, the night breeze gently brushed, making the flower branches rustle.
"In the maze are your distant pasts, ones I was never a part of." Cyrus Hawthorne’s voice was gentle and magnetic, accompanied by the wind, adding a sense of surrealism, "If you’re willing, I will stay with you for the rest of my life."
The mont the last word fell, it was as if Ann Vaughn heard the sound of countless fireworks blossoming in her ears.
In a daze, it felt as though her heart stopped for a mont.
A fine trembling sensation climbed up to her heart, gradually spreading to her limbs and bones.
"You..." Ann Vaughn felt a intense burning in her ears, her heartbeat accelerating to the point where it seed it might burst through her throat the next mont.
"Are you proposing to ?"
After a while, she managed to piece together a sentence, her face flushed with an alluring blush.
It was then that she noticed the bouquet in his hand, with a dazzling black diamond ring tucked in the cluster of the forget--nots in the center, impressively eye-catching.
Cyrus Hawthorne lowered his gaze, looking at her as if she was the most precious treasure, his voice laced with a smile, "So, what’s your answer?"
Staring at the ring quietly resting among the forget--nots, Ann Vaughn’s mind went blank, and under his low, magnetic and enticing inquiry, she slowly extended her hand.
"Awooo—"
Just then, a massive white figure leaped out of the sea of flowers, about to land right near Ann Vaughn!
"Watch out!"
Cyrus Hawthorne’s narrow eyes sharp, he swiftly wrapped an arm around Ann Vaughn’s delicate waist, pulling her aside just in ti to avoid the attack of the massive creature!
Before Ann Vaughn could react to what happened, she was already ensconced within Cyrus Hawthorne’s broad chest, surrounded by his cool fragrance.
She blinked, her gaze frozen for a few seconds.
"Awooo!" The huge white creature landed, its hind legs clawing at the earth, turning halfway towards Ann Vaughn, with a black bow tie around its neck bobbing up and down.
Was it possible that Ann Vaughn was mistaken, but she thought she detected a hint of disdain in the eyes of the gleaming white dog...
Is it now that even animals have beco such spirits?
Cyrus Hawthorne squinted at the white wolf, his thin lips forming a tight line, the imposing aura radiating from him in waves.
The white wolf’s sharp ears stood erect, as if sensing danger, its wolf eyes filled with intense vigilance, constantly retreating before turning to run away.
In the darkness, the white wolf’s figure quickly vanished at the far end of the sea of flowers.
Ann Vaughn was reluctant to look away, expressing regret, "That white dog looks so fluffy, it seems particularly nice to touch."
She had never seen such a big dog before, its coat snow-white and pure, clearly well grood daily.
Cyrus Hawthorne’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, but he did not release Ann Vaughn from his embrace, enclosing her between his arms, forcing her to shift her attention back from the distracting wolf.
"You still haven’t given your answer, hmm?"
The unique pheromones from the man instantly surrounded Ann Vaughn again, making her heart, which barely cald down a bit, race again.
Amidst the uncontrolled sound of her heartbeat, a sentence she had previously pushed to the back of her mind, suddenly flashed into Ann Vaughn’s head.
"My friend said that traces of birth control pill ingredients were indeed detected in the leftover liquid from the dication..."
Ann Vaughn’s long lashes trembled lightly, trying to suppress her surging emotions, she then extended her hand to press against Cyrus Hawthorne’s chest, gently stepping back a bit.
Looking into Cyrus Hawthorne’s eyes, a subtle smile playing around her lips, "Mr. Hawthorne, marrying is not such an easy thing."
Cyrus Hawthorne raised an eyebrow at this, his already tense eyes growing deeper. "Whatever you want, I can give you."
"Whatever you like to do, I will do with you."
"Annie," his voice deep and slightly seductive, "do you really not want ?"
Ann Vaughn gasped sharply, her knees weakening rhythmically.
Oh gosh...
This man is completely playing unfairly!!
If Ann Vaughn hadn’t barely held on to a shred of rationality, she might have just blurted out the word "want"!
"I..." Ann Vaughn stamred, "I just got out of a relationship not long ago, I haven’t fully enjoyed the joys of being single, can you wait a little longer?"
Just after she said that, she felt like slapping herself — it was one thing to hear Susie Somrs going on about it all the ti, but why did she have to mimic her words??
The man’s dark eyes narrowed warily, his handso face slightly darkened.
The joys of being single?
Then, who was bringing her this joy?
Many thoughts swirled around, but Cyrus Hawthorne’s face remained unruffled, as he gently cupped Ann Vaughn’s cheeks.
His eagle-like dark eyes fixed intently on her face, the glossy depths akin to a srizing whirlpool.
"Annie, do you know how much a minute of my ti is worth?"
