Upon hearing this, Ann Vaughn’s bright eyes subtly shifted as she estimated the number of people in the patrol team, her red lips curving into a aningful smile.

Secretly crushing the pill between her fingers, using the cover of night, Ann Vaughn’s wrist flicked lightly, allowing the powder to drift into the air unnoticed.

It ford a faint, nearly invisible haze of drugs, swiftly entering the breaths of these people, colorless and tasteless, almost impossible to detect.

In less than ten seconds, the patrol mbers fell one by one in front of Ann Vaughn, without even having ti to struggle, and passed out.

Ann Vaughn used a modified neuro-interference toxin on them, the effects lasting at least a week, after which they would return to normal and recall what happened.

For her, a week was plenty of ti.

The imdiate priority was to leave here as quickly as possible.

Ann Vaughn didn’t delay, leaving through a small path she discovered accidentally a few days ago.

Before she could exit the woods, Ann Vaughn bumped into soone head-on.

"Josiah’s assistant?!" Dean Master Moore looked at Ann Vaughn erging from the forest, his gaze becoming more cautious, "What are you doing here so late? Are you trying to approach the prison?"

Dean Master Moore?!

Ann Vaughn sensed sothing wrong and was about to crush the pill in her hand when a noise suddenly ca from behind her.

Soone pushed aside the branches and slowly ca up behind Ann Vaughn.

"Dean Master Moore, she’s timid, don’t scare her." Josiah Keaton naturally wrapped his arm around Ann Vaughn’s shoulder, his shirt buttons hadn’t been fastened, revealing an ambiguous mark on his half-exposed chest, looking satisfied, "If there’s anything, ask ."

Ann Vaughn’s eyes subtly startled, how could Josiah Keaton be here?!

"You..." Dean Master Moore looked at Josiah Keaton’s expression, and the marks on his collarbone and chest, evidently understanding what he had just been up to?

He glared at him resentfully, "Why are you dealing in a place like this? Isn’t your dormitory big enough for you?"

Josiah Keaton laughed self-righteously, "If it weren’t for your unwelco appearance, we planned to continue fighting in the little garden; we don’t have ti to waste here with you."

"Do you have anything else? In the dead of night, the mood can ignite instantly; if you’re not in a hurry, I am."

Dean Master Moore: "..."

What he prepared for Josiah Keaton earlier was all in vain!

Why so eager now?

Dean Master Moore took a breath and asked seriously, "Do you know what kind of place this is? Even if you bring people here, this isn’t the direction you should go. If that gentleman finds out, you won’t escape punishnt!"

Josiah Keaton sneered, "If I didn’t know what kind of place this is, what would I be doing here? I’ve been waiting for twenty-odd years for a thrill like this, and you’re not letting ?"

Dean Master Moore: "..."

Ann Vaughn: "..."

She couldn’t bear to listen anymore.

Dean Master Moore showed a disdainful expression like an old man on the subway looking at his phone, waving dismissively, "Hurry, leave now, don’t co back— next ti you do, I’ll chop you up!"

"Talk to Professor Stephen, I heard there are quite a few good tools in the prison..."

Upon hearing that Josiah Keaton was interested in those tools, Dean Master Moore’s temples throbbed violently, unable to bear it, he cursed, "Are you fucking sick?! Sumr’s assistant is so unlucky to be with you for eight lifetis!"

For so reason, he felt a bit sympathetic towards the female assistant.

Probably never thought Josiah Keaton, looking well-mannered, turned out to be a freak.

Josiah Keaton walked away with Ann Vaughn, "Giving a blueprint is also good, I’ll custom-make a complete set myself. It’s called passion, what do you know?"

Dean Master Moore: furious, cursing.

Ann Vaughn’s mouth twitched, suddenly feeling a trip at her feet; before she could react, she fell forward.

"Hey babe," Josiah Keaton caught Ann Vaughn’s slim waist, teasingly, "If you can’t walk, don’t force it, soone like you, I can still carry."

Ann Vaughn: "..."

Did he think she didn’t know who intentionally tripped her just now?

But with Dean Master Moore still watching them, Ann Vaughn didn’t say anything, cooperating with Josiah’s theatrics, letting him assist her out of the woods.

Dean Master Moore’s suspicion was already dispelled when Ann Vaughn stumbled, although he still had doubts inside.

Standing thinking for a while, Dean Master Moore quickly moved towards where the patrol team had gone earlier.

The dormitory.

Entering the room, Josiah Keaton instantly got rid of the teasing and cocky expression, frowning at Ann Vaughn, his gaze deep and heavy.

"Do you know what you’re doing?"

Ann Vaughn bit her lip, her lowered lashes trembling gently, directly admitting, "Sorry for causing you trouble."

Josiah Keaton: "..."

Damn it.

Saying sorry so obediently, how could he still be angry?

Resisting the urge to ruffle her hair, Josiah Keaton deliberately put on a stern face, "Do you know what you did wrong?"

Ann Vaughn lifted her eyes, sincere gaze, "I shouldn’t knowingly fall into their trap, nor should I leave traces for them to discover, next ti I’ll do it cleaner, I definitely won’t drag you down again."

Josiah Keaton again: "..."

He was almost pissed off by Ann Vaughn.

"Is that what I’m talking to you about?! Who cares about that shit!" Josiah Keaton said irritably, "Why didn’t you talk to before acting? Why put sleep aids in my water? Do you really distrust so much, thinking I’d ruin your plans?"

"It’s not..." Ann Vaughn instinctively refuted, "I was just worried about dragging you down..."

"Who the hell told you this was dragging down? Ann Vaughn, do you really think I’m so stupid, unable to see your intentions, not knowing you ca to this base with other motives?"

Ann Vaughn bit her lip, not responding.

Turns out Josiah Keaton realized long ago.

No wonder he happened to appear in the woods tonight.

Watching Ann Vaughn’s dazed expression, Josiah Keaton’s internal rage gradually expanded, looking at her with a deep and solemn gaze.

"Without asking , how’d you know if I’d choose the base or choose you."

Dean Master Moore compared Ann Vaughn to Josiah Keaton’s secret love.

Actually, he got it wrong.

She was Josiah Keaton’s whole heart.

Ann Vaughn was stared down by Josiah Keaton’s suppressed gaze, her mind blank, "Josiah Keaton, I..."

"If what you want to say isn’t what I want to hear, best not say it." Josiah Keaton’s eyes lowered briefly, quickly returning to his casual deanor, "Otherwise, I fear I’ll drag you to sea for a romantic suicide."

If you can’t get it, go for a romantic suicide, simply ridiculous.

Ann Vaughn’s confusion was completely dispersed by his flippant remark, she retorted, "Quite handso, but just had to open your mouth."

Josiah Keaton: "?"

Which man saves a damsel in distress and still gets scolded afterward??
