"Well, Raymond, finally I hear you speaking the truth, don’t I? You think I’m old, right? This marriage is over!" Rowan Wyatt said and was about to leave, angrily throwing her high heels at the man.

Raymond Roland chuckled, bent down to pick up his wife’s high heels, performing such a simple action with incomparable elegance, "I didn’t say that."

"That’s exactly what you ant!"

"Co on, darling, don’t let people laugh at us."

As he spoke, he stepped forward and drew the sulking Rowan Wyatt into his arms, his voice carrying a hint of amusent, "You’re a grown woman, why still throw such tantrums like a child."

"I’m just being unreasonable, go find soone else who’s not unreasonable to be Mrs. Roland!" Rowan Wyatt turned her head away, refusing to look at him.

"I only want Rowan Wyatt as my Mrs. Roland."

After decades of marriage, Raymond Roland knew that his wife always had a sharp tongue but a soft heart, never wronged in her parental ho or after marrying him—except for that incident over twenty years ago.

That was the pain of his life and one reason he grew more indulgent and fond of her.

"Always with the sweet talk."

"Only for you."

"..."

The new security officer sitting in the car watched in amazent.

At ho, this man actually had such a good temper, quite unlike the stern boss depicted in the news.

The elder next to him coughed lightly with a straight face, "Know that Mr. Roland is under the thumb at ho, don’t go spreading it around, or he will be upset."

"Oh, oh." The newbie nodded quickly, hastily asserting, "I saw nothing."

After comforting her, the person sitting in the backseat got out of the car knowingly and voluntarily sat in the front passenger seat, leaving the backseat for them.

"How was the audition today? Didn’t you ntion before that there’s a girl nad Maeve Lane who looks a lot like Ruby?"

"It was okay, just couldn’t hold back my temper." Rowan Wyatt said, sowhat regretful, "That kid even brought slippers, really knows how to show care."

"Oh? Then I must thank her next ti."

"Do you think Ruby is doing well now?" Rowan Wyatt’s eyes suddenly reddened, "If not for that incident back then, Ruby would surely be a joyful and proud little princess now... If she got blisters from wearing high heels, I wonder if anyone would care for her."

"She will, you’ve prayed for her for years, Ruby will surely find a good family."

"Any news of her?"

"...No."

"We’ll reunite like in the novels, right?"

Raymond Roland gently patted his wife’s back in comfort, softly promising, "We will."

"We definitely will."

...

Mrs. Fairchild woke up, and it was already the afternoon of the next day.

She felt a faint pain in the back of her neck, "Butler, co see what’s wrong with my neck."

"Butler?"

She called out several tis, but no one responded.

Mrs. Fairchild lifted the quilt, pausing as she got out of bed.

How did she get back?

She rembered Julian had returned yesterday and had even invited Sylvia Lane to stay at the Fairchild Residence... and then...

And then as she walked out of the dining room, she was knocked out by a bodyguard!

Mrs. Fairchild snapped back to reality, suddenly furious, "Which insolent fool dared to lay a hand on !"

The room was empty, and she stord to the door, slamming it hard!

"Are you all insane! How dare you lock in here!" Mrs. Fairchild said incredulously, "Where is Julian! I want to see Julian!"

"Ma’am, I’d advise you not to waste your strength."

"Miles Hughes?! How dare you, do you intend to rebel! Believe it or not, I’ll have Julian lock you up tomorrow!"

Miles Hughes bowed toward the door, "Miles Hughes would never do anything that goes against the young master’s orders."

The sound of banging on the door halted.

"Are you saying this is Julian’s idea?!"

"Alright, I see, Maeve Lane must have told Julian to do this!"

"That woman with a heart like a snake! Julian must be blind!"

"I want to see the Old Master! Miles Hughes, open the door for , or the consequences will be beyond what you can bear!"

Mrs. Fairchild realized Julian Fairchild was definitely siding with Maeve Lane, but above him, there was still the Old Master, and the future mistress of the Fairchild Family was not yet that woman’s decision!

However, Miles Hughes did not open the door but instead chuckled lightly, "Ma’am, the Old Master cannot manage this matter."

"You’re talking nonsense! The Old Master just went to Continent W for health care; how could he not care about the matter concerning the future family matriarch!"
