"What?"
Daniel almost believed her.
He thought she was going to reveal her true identity.
But when he saw her smile, he realized she had done it on purpose.
"Mr. Wilson, I'm sure you've heard the phrase 'love , love my dog.' I've realized I'm starting to like you recently. So, I'm also looking into the matter you're investigating. I don't think that's a bad thing."
"Chantelle, you're really a sly woman."
"Mr. Wilson, you're too humble. I'm not as sly as you. Felix doesn't have a daughter, right?"
Chantelle's arm hurt badly. She instinctively pressed the wound but kept her face calm.
Daniel looked at her without responding.
But Chantelle had already figured everything out.
"Is it fun to trick ?"
Chantelle realized sothing was wrong. It turned out to be Daniel's trap.
She wondered when she had fallen into it—whether it was this ti or back at the bar.
Chantelle was angry. She walked toward the surface while holding her arm.
She didn't notice how pale she had beco from the pain in her wound.
There was a staircase leading from the underground pathway to the surface.
Chantelle wobbled up the stairs, exhausted, having only made it one-third of the way.
As she began to faint, she felt her legs being lifted. She looked up and saw the man carrying her.
She wanted to ask him to let go, but no words ca out.
"Chantelle? Chantelle!" Daniel called out when he felt her losing consciousness.
He quickly ran to the hospital, carrying her in his arms.

anwhile, at a bungalow located in Fifth Ring Road's Hundred Acre Garden...
Kate had been showering in her bathroom ever since Ruby picked her up.
Even after multiple showers, she could still sll the sewage—disgusting and unbearable.
Kate felt terrified as she rembered the car that disappeared after speeding toward her.
She wondered if it had been so kind of paranormal encounter.
Maybe the old man from the Wilson family or Chantelle was seeking revenge.
The thought gave Kate goosebumps.
She was so scared that she didn't want to stay in the bathroom anymore, so she quickly rushed out, wrapped in a towel.
As Kate stepped out of the bathroom, she scread when she saw Jas in his underwear.
"Scoundrel, get out!"
Furious, Kate grabbed a shampoo bottle and threw it at Jas.
Then, she felt a chill. Her towel slipped off, leaving her exposed in front of him.
Jas was stunned at first, but when the shampoo bottle hit him, his anger quickly faded. His eyes landed on Kate's body.
"What are you looking at? Keep staring, and I'll gouge out your eyes!"
Kate felt Jas' stare and quickly grabbed the towel to cover herself.
"Heh, I thought Ms. Kate's body was precious. Looks like I get to see it for free."
Jas eyed Kate's body, teasing her.
"Get out!"
"Co on, Ms. Kate. This is my house. You're the one who should leave. Get out now!"
"How dare you!"
"You don't need to cover up. Your body isn't as nice as Ruby's. Do you really think I'd be interested in you?"
"Jas, you're such a jerk!"
Slap!
Kate was stunned by the slap. She couldn't believe it.
"I'll break your leg if you dare insult again! Don't even think about seducing with your naked body! I have my own principles, unlike you! Are you done showering? If you are, get out! I'm not finished yet!"
Jas threw Kate out of the bathroom.
Filled with rage and feeling humiliated, Kate was deeply upset.
She was supposed to be the most respected woman in Easthan, yet here she was, being bullied by this man.
As she imagined rushing back into the bathroom and stabbing Jas, the bathroom door suddenly opened.
When Kate saw Jas walking out, she froze, perhaps feeling guilty.
"Don't block my way! Get lost!" Jas kicked Kate before she could even scold him.
"How dare you assault ! Aren't you afraid I'll tell my mother? What do you think she'll do if I tell her you're interested in ?" Kate glared at Jas, trying to get back at him. She even ntioned Ruby.
Jas paused when he heard her words.
Then, he started laughing.
"Ms. Kate, good idea. Go ahead. I'll be waiting. Let's see who your mother will believe."
Kate was surprised by how calm and relaxed Jas was. She couldn't understand how this ugly man with no future had the confidence to think Ruby would believe him over her.
Jas walked up to Kate, wearing a low and threatening voice.
"Let warn you, brat. I like your mother. Unfortunately, you're not my child. I won't let you cause trouble on my territory. If you want to stay here, be obedient. Otherwise, you can leave right now!"
Kate felt a chill of fear. She instinctively leaned back into the corner. She tried to punch him, but Jas caught her wrist.
"You better save your strength. Otherwise, you might not even get to eat!"
Jas shook Kate's hand off and walked away casually.
Kate sighed in relief when she saw him leaving. But before she could fully catch her breath, Jas returned.
"Nothing about you is real. Do you really think soone like you could marry into a rich family? Is daydreaming a trend now?"
Kate trembled in anger when she looked at him.
"Jas, you're such a jerk!" Kate yelled angrily.
"You don't need to know if I'm a jerk or not. I just need your mother to know that. Go put on so clothes. If you get sick and die, no one will take care of you!" Jas said with malice.
Every word he spoke crushed Kate's dignity.
When she saw him walk away, Kate collapsed to the floor and passed out.

When Chantelle woke up, she found herself in Western Hill Villa.
She glanced at her wrist and saw that the bandage had been replaced.
The anesthesia had likely eased the pain. As she sat up, she stared at the bandage, recognizing the technique.
It looked exactly like the one she had earlier that morning.
Had Daniel taken her back to the lab?
The thought confused her, and she struggled to figure out what had happened while she was unconscious.
"Ms. Chantelle, you're finally awake!"
Russell's voice pulled her from her thoughts.
