After disrupting her, he actually felt like he wanted her to continue.

"Tsk tsk. Mr. Wilson, did your dicine solve all your issues this ti?"

Chantelle raised her eyebrows. She had successfully turned the situation around in her favor.

"Well, you’ll find out sooner or later."

Before this, Daniel always claid he had a physical problem, but he could not admit that it was a lie. He had even started to worry that Chantelle might think he was really incapable of being intimate.

"I’m looking forward to it. You always liked doing it in the study back at the Wilson residence. I lost count of how many picture fras you broke on the table. You always looked like you were having fun, but I was scared you would bla for breaking your things. I wanted to replace the fras for you, but you never told where you kept the photos."

Chantelle deliberately softened her voice and raised her tone. Every now and then, Daniel felt like his heart was being scratched by a kitten.

"They’re in the drawer. I never stopped you from taking them."

Without noticing, Daniel licked his lips. He had just finished drinking water, yet his mouth felt dry as he thought of the scenes Chantelle ntioned.

"The Wilson Group of Companies’ secrets are kept in your drawer. I was accused of betraying the Wilson Group of Companies before, even though I had nothing to do with it. I could have lost my life because of that."

Chantelle let out a playful hum and pouted her lips.

"Are you trying to bring up the past? What’s mine is yours now. Take whatever you want. If anyone dares to speak nonsense, I’ll tear their tongue out."

Daniel’s amused expression slowly turned serious.

Chantelle often joked about their misunderstanding from six years ago, but Daniel always felt guilty and heartbroken whenever it was ntioned.

"Okay, let’s make pancakes. The kids are waiting."

Chantelle had gotten the answer she wanted. She stopped teasing Daniel, and her expression returned to its usual cold look.

Daniel felt a little disappointed, but he was still happy that they were able to talk casually.

Chantelle’s cooking abilities, unfortunately, were not impressive. Even though he had been guiding her remotely for more than an hour, the pancakes she made still turned out burned and salty. Chantelle beca irritable because she lost her patience.

anwhile, Daniel was still enthusiastic. He said, "It’s okay. Just be more mindful of the temperature next ti. You’ll be able to do it successfully."

"Daniel, are you doing this on purpose?" Chantelle lifted her head and glared at him on the screen.

Daniel looked confused. He asked, "What?"

"Are you intentionally not explaining it properly? Otherwise, how could I not do sothing this simple?"

Chantelle struggled to accept that she couldn’t do it. She had always learned things faster than others, yet she couldn’t make a basic pancake. It didn’t make sense to her at all.

"You have no faith in ."

Daniel gave a bitter smile. His sharp eyes, which usually saw through everything, were now filled with grievance.

"Fine, I’ll stop learning. You can just fly back and cook for them yourself."

Chantelle put the pan aside. She decided to give up.

"If you do that, the kids will be disappointed."

This was not how Daniel wanted to end the call. He tried his best to persuade her.

His attempt to persuade her only made Chantelle more irritated. She blurted out, "They would be more disappointed if you didn’t co back. Did I ever say anything to you?"

The other end of the phone fell silent. Daniel didn’t move on the screen. If not for the faint reflection of light in his eyes, Chantelle would have thought the video had frozen.

After being stared at for a while, she finally felt a bit embarrassed.

"I’m hanging up now."

After saying that, she reached out to end the call.

Before she could do that, Daniel quickly asked, "Wife, are you ignoring because I didn’t go back with you?"

Chantelle rolled her eyes at him and said, "Daniel, you’re overthinking."

"In fact, if you had even said one word asking to go back with you, I would have done it, even if it ant risking my life. I thought you didn’t want to see at all because you didn’t say anything."

The two of them looked at each other through the screen, complicated emotions passing between them.

After a mont, Chantelle ca back to her senses and said, "So now it’s my fault?"

"No, everything is my fault. I should trust that you care about . How could you dislike a man as handso and devoted as I am?" Daniel teased her softly.

Chantelle couldn’t argue with him anymore after seeing his bright eyes and cheerful smile. She thought she must be beyond saving. The honey trap this man set was really deadly.

"Wife, are you thinking about it?"

Daniel looked at Chantelle, who was staring at him blankly. His previously joyful expression slowly turned ambiguous. His intense stare openly lingered on her. He seed as if he wanted to touch her through his eyes.

Think of it and think of . Even though the words differed by only one, the aning was completely different.

Chantelle’s cheeks began to heat up. She scowled at him and said, "Yes, I’m thinking about that. I should take advantage of the fact that it’s still early and go outside to deal with my needs."

Chantelle stood up as she said this.

Daniel’s expression darkened imdiately. He asked, "Where are you going to do that?"

"Where else? A bar, a club, or karaoke. I’m sure I can find soone attractive."

"Wife, are you going to ignore the option that’s right in front of you and go for those less desirable n?"

Insecurely, Daniel kept his eyes on her. It looked as if he would fly over imdiately to stop her if she actually walked out the door.

Chantelle knew he was just putting on a show. He had been in Carcosa for a long ti. He still had to deal with that mother and daughter, as well as business matters. He couldn’t co back just for her.

"Where’s the readily available option? You know I can’t hold back on things like this. Mr. Wilson and I are not the sa. You can keep a mistress and have her whenever you want."

The mont the words left her mouth, Chantelle regretted them. Speaking so bitterly wasn’t like her at all. She bit her lower lip in frustration and glared at Daniel from the corner of her eye.
