"Daniel, I won’t let you die! Please, co with !" Camille cried out while begging as she held him tightly.
Daniel was furious. Camille’s sudden appearance made his blood boil.
Then he noticed sothing strange; his bodyguards were all lying on the ground, and his body was starting to feel weak.
"Chantie, do you see this?" Joseph’s voice slithered through the air like a snake. "You gave everything for Daniel. But when you needed him, just any woman could stop him from saving you."
Chantelle’s skin prickled with chills. She clenched her teeth and said, "If you want to kill , just do it. Stop talking nonsense."
"You’re still so impatient..." Joseph sneered.
Before he could finish, a loud noise ca from the other side of the glass plank road. Daniel and Camille seed to be arguing.
Monts later, Daniel erged on the glass plank road, walking slowly toward Chantelle.
Joseph’s smile faded.
"Daniel, stop!" Camille scread. Seeing him ignore her, she picked up a heavy stone and hurled it at the glass plank road.
Camille had aid for the glass in front of Daniel, but she didn’t have the strength. The stone hit the section behind him instead.
The glass cracked with a sharp sound, and Daniel started to fall.
Chantelle suddenly scread in horror, "Lone Wolf, save Daniel!"
"No! Save Chantelle!" Daniel shouted as he fell.
Lone Wolf quickly wrapped his Gold Threads around Daniel’s waist, leaving him hanging in the air.
Daniel looked down and saw Chantelle and Kane falling fast. Blood rushed up his throat, and he coughed it out. "Chantelle! No!"
Joseph stood in shock by the window as his face turned pale. He stared blankly and mumbled, "Chantie... why? How did this happen?"
Once Lone Wolf pulled Daniel back up, Daniel turned and punched him hard across his face.
Lone Wolf hit the ground. He didn’t fight back. He didn’t say a word. He just kept staring at the spot where Chantelle had vanished.
"Mommy, I ca to save you!" a young voice suddenly rang out from above.
Daniel instantly recognized Stephanie’s voice. It was coming from a small plane flying overhead.
The plane had a unique shape, almost like a mini fighter jet. It was sleek, light, and moved incredibly fast in the air.
Daniel hadn’t dared to look down earlier. But now, he followed the path of the diving plane and saw a pink parachute drifting through the air.
Joy filled his chest. A wide smile spread across his face.
He gave Lone Wolf a light punch on the chest and said, "I knew Chantelle would be okay!"
"Hmph, as long as she stays with you, trouble will follow sooner or later."
After saying that, Lone Wolf turned around and disappeared into the flas. But before he totally disappeared, a rare smile appeared on his usually cynical face.
Daniel’s joy only lasted a mont. Right after that, he started chasing after Joseph.
Half an hour earlier, Chantelle had found Kane on the 33rd floor. At that ti, Kane was being chased by Joseph’s n. A fight broke out, and Kane managed to escape by throwing a few small bombs.
Soon after, Chantelle got a call from Joseph. He threatened her with Railer’s life to lure Daniel onto the glass plank road. Chantelle refused right away. That’s why Joseph forced her and Kane to stand there.
But Chantelle had made a plan ahead of ti. She had already instructed Lone Wolf to save Kane if things went wrong. It was the one favor she asked from him in return for the dicine she had given him before.
Lone Wolf had only agreed to work with Joseph to lure and kill Daniel. So when Chantelle asked him to save Kane, he agreed. But what he didn’t expect was that, at the last mont, Chantelle would suddenly ask him to save Daniel instead.
The truth was, Chantelle always knew she could get Kane off the glass plank road herself. But she also knew that if she asked Lone Wolf upfront to save Daniel, he would say no.
So, she ca up with a plan. She told him to save Kane first. Then, when the mont ca, she switched and told him to save Daniel.
Lone Wolf was soone who cared deeply about loyalty and repaying favors. And because she had helped him before, she knew he wouldn’t ignore her request.
In the end, she was right. Lone Wolf saved Daniel.
But what Chantelle didn’t expect was Stephanie suddenly showing up on a plane to save her. It was honestly the coolest thing ever.
She and Kane made it onto the plane safely.
"Mommy, are you okay?" Stephanie asked. She looked worried but tried to act calm as she sat in her seat.
Chantelle walked over and gently patted her head. "I’m fine. Thank you for saving us."
"Please be more careful next ti," Stephanie said, pouting her tiny lips.
"Steph, where did you get this plane? You’re amazing!" Kane had just settled down and was now looking around the plane. The more his eyes wandered around, the more excited he beca.
"Hmph, I’ve always been this cool," Stephanie replied, turning back like she was the one flying it.
Kane couldn’t help feeling a little jealous that Stephanie could fly a plane.
While the kids were talking, Chantelle suddenly noticed Rowan at the control panel.
She looked surprised. "Mr. Nelsen, thank you so much."
"You’re welco. I’ll drop you off first."
In less than two minutes, Rowan landed the plane on a lawn in front of Phoenix International. Chantelle thanked him again and got off with her children.
Noticing Rowan stayed inside, Chantelle asked, "Mr. Nelsen, are you going back?"
Rowan nodded. "My sister is still inside the building."
"Mr. Nelsen, after you find Ms. Nelsen, can you check the 34th floor too? There’s an elderly couple there."
"Okay," Rowan replied with a nod. He shut the door and quickly lifted the plane back into the sky.
Outside Phoenix International, fire trucks were lined up. Firefighters had already rushed into the building, but the fire kept getting worse.
More explosions followed, and the flas rose higher. So people had even jumped or fallen from the building to escape.
Chantelle silently hoped this was just an accident. If soone had done this on purpose, it would be far too cruel.
She sat on the grass with Kane and Stephanie. dical workers ca over to check on them. After learning they weren’t hurt, they moved on to help others.
