"Ah!!!!!!! My god!!!!!!!" Screams like a pig being slaughtered erupted, and Gu Lili felt the world spin before she fell to the ground in pain.
"What are you screaming for?"
"Big... Big brother... Ah... she stabbed ..." The man collapsed on the ground, blood oozed from his waist, and he closed his eyes.
The approaching man imdiately pulled out a gun, ant for intimidation, but Gu Lili kicked it away with a swing of her leg and swiftly pinned the man to the ground.
"Who sent you?"
Caught off guard by her skills, the man was montarily speechless.
Seeing this, Gu Lili raised her knife, "Speak now or I’ll stab you to death right here."
"It’s illegal to kill people..."
"I’m acting in self-defense. The surveillance caras saw you dragging here," Gu Lili’s voice was icy cold. "Mother’s asking you one more ti, who is behind this? If you tell , I’ll let you go without further consequences."
"Do you keep your word?"
"Of course."
"We got the job online. They said just take a few naked photos of you and we’d each get five hundred thousand. We’re just small-ti thugs. The gun is fake; we don’t dare to kill anyone."
Gu Lili picked up the gun and inspected it; indeed, it was a fake.
"What’s the na of the person who gave you the job?"
"How would we know their real na? The task was posted on the XXX website, by soone with the userna ’no-wildflower-as-sweet-as-ho-flower666666’." The man added, "You better leave quick, the person who hired us didn’t just hire us two, there are several others, just in case."
Gu Lili didn’t care if he was telling the truth or not; she got up and walked outside.
Seeing her leave, the man got up from the ground and kicked, "Stop pretending to be dead, get the hell up."
The man who had been lying with his eyes shut slowly got up, rubbing his wounds, "She’s ruthless."
"Consider yourself lucky I didn’t hit your kidney. Look, we almost had her, but then she woke up. It’s all because the seductive scent you provided wasn’t strong enough."
"Big brother, we better go too."
"Of course we go. Otherwise, she’ll figure out I lied and co back for us."
"She said she won’t trouble us anymore."
"With that ferocious look of hers, you believe her?"
...
Gu Lili had no idea where she was, just kept running as fast as she could.
On a dark night, several paths unfolded before her; she took one at random and ran straight ahead without looking back.
But as ill luck would have it, it started to rain.
The village was pitch-dark without a single streetlight.
Passing through the woods, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her right leg; her pants had torn and blood was gushing out.
She grabbed her leg and kept running until she reached a riverbank.
Facing the wide river, she didn’t know whether to go left or right, as the path ended ahead.
Going back didn’t seem realistic.
As she was pondering whether to go left or right,
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out from the woods behind her.
Startled, Gu Lili imdiately ran to the left, not sparing much thought as she feared other n might be waiting as the man had said.
Not long after she started running, a strong hand grabbed her waist. She turned around, barely making out the silhouette of the man in the dark night, "Xichen?"
