Su Mu felt awkward, so after lunch, she hurriedly made an excuse to leave Fu Shinian’s house, even neglecting Qiqi’s reliance on her and completely ignoring Shinian’s teasing smile. She believed that once she left that place, everything from last night could be treated as if nothing had happened.
Actually, her work in Jiangcheng City was already finished, and there was no need for her to continue coming to the studio. However, her return date to Shen City was not yet determined, and she really had nowhere else to go. Lin Ning was sowhat surprised when Su Mu appeared at the studio in the afternoon:
"Su, what are you doing here? I thought you were going back to Shen City today."
Considering that last night Lin Ning had delivered her like a lamb into Fu Shinian’s hands, Su Mu’s gaze towards Lin Ning always felt sowhat murderous, which made Lin Ning sowhat uneasy. But she instantly knew what was happening and helplessly said:
"Su, if you didn’t want to go back to the apartnt, you should have told before drinking; I had no idea you had sold your apartnt and you’ve been living at the studio recently. If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have taken you back to the apartnt."
Su Mu knew that no matter how much bla went around, she couldn’t lay it all on Lin Ning. But thinking about what might have happened last night made her restless, yet she couldn’t say anything to Lin Ning; she could only wave her hand, signaling for her to leave. Yet, after only a mont, Lin Ning ca back again, which made Su Mu, who was already suffering from a headache and wishing to rest, sowhat impatient:
"What’s the matter?"
"A custor has co downstairs asking to have a portrait taken."
Su Mu pinched the bridge of her nose:
"Hadn’t we already agreed? After finishing the previous jobs, we weren’t going to take any more here."
"I know," Lin Ning replied with a nod. "But the client said they know you and ca specifically."
"Know ?" Su Mu stopped what she was doing and looked at Lin Ning. "Do you know them?"
Lin Ning confird knowing the person but didn’t know how to explain, smiling awkwardly before finally speaking, "I t him once on the day Shi Lihua was arrested when he ca to say goodbye to Shi Lihua."
Su Mu frowned slightly, unable to understand how soone who knew Shi Lihua could also know her. She didn’t feel that she knew anyone else, but since they had co looking for her, it wouldn’t be right not to see them, especially since she was very curious about what they wanted.
Getting up, she walked alongside Lin Ning and casually asked:
"What’s his relation to Shi Lihua?"
"That day, he and Mr. Fu were talking to Shi Lihua in the room. I don’t know the specifics of their discussion, but I believe they were on opposing sides."
Su Mu didn’t say anything more and directly went downstairs.
In the reception room, a slender, upright figure stood with his back to Su Mu, looking at the photographs on the wall. Just from his silhouette, Su Mu felt he must be a quiet person. Because of the quietness, Su Mu felt a bit reluctant to disrupt the scene before her, but fortunately, he heard her and slowly turned around. In the next mont, Su Mu saw a strikingly handso face that was sowhat pale.
Yu Qingzhou smiled:
"Hello, I’m Yu Qingzhou."
Su Mu nodded slightly: "Hello, I’m Su Mu."
Su Mu invited Yu Qingzhou to sit, and she also sat across from him, signaling to Lin Ning at the door to bring in two cups of coffee. Yu Qingzhou smiled slightly:
"I’m slowly trying to quit coffee, but since it’s offered by Miss Su, I certainly won’t refuse."
"There’s no need for that. I’ll have my assistant switch it to juice for you."
Just as Su Mu was about to call Lin Ning, Yu Qingzhou stopped her: "No need, an occasional cup is fine."
Su Mu didn’t insist and smiled lightly:
"I seem to be eting Mr. Yu for the first ti, but according to my assistant, you know ."
"Yes, I know you," Yu Qingzhou looked at Su Mu with a calm and gentle gaze. "You’re a friend of Wei Shaoqin, aren’t you?"
Su Mu grew more puzzled:
"You know Wei Shaoqin?"
"Yes, it was he who said your photography skills are very good. That’s why I ca from Shen City, wanting to see you and also to have a portrait taken."
Hearing Yu Qingzhou’s words, Su Mu rembered that she hadn’t been in touch with Wei Shaoqin for a long ti, so naturally, he wouldn’t have known about her moving the studio back to Shen City. She smiled slightly:
"I haven’t been in contact with him for a long ti, so he doesn’t know yet about my plan to move the studio back to Shen City. My mistake. If I had told him earlier, you wouldn’t have had to make the trip. We could have done the shooting in Shen City later."
"You’re going back to Shen City?"
"Yes," Su Mu smiled lightly. "Shen City is my ho. I’ve been adrift for years; it’s ti to return."
Yu Qingzhou watched Su Mu for a few seconds before speaking:
"May I take it that you are reconciling with Fu Shinian?"
Su Mu was silent for quite a while. Honestly, she was very curious about Yu Qingzhou’s identity. She didn’t quite understand how soone who knew Shi Lihua and had dealings with Fu Shinian could also be connected with Wei Shaoqin, and evidently, their relationship seed quite good; otherwise, Wei Shaoqin wouldn’t have recomnded him.
"I may be presumptuous, but I really can’t unravel so of my doubts."
Yu Qingzhou smiled slightly, preemptively answering before Su Mu could ask:
"I am Shi Lihua’s adopted son. She ca back to the country partly for revenge and partly for my company in Italy, but she didn’t know that the losses the company was suffering were intentionally caused by . Therefore, when Fu Shinian’s people found in Italy, we made a deal. My reason for returning to Shen City was to help Fu Shinian, and after Shi Lihua’s matter was settled, I didn’t want to return to Italy anymore, since this is where I was born and raised. Later, when I was looking for a house in Shen City, I t Wei Shaoqin, and now Wei Shaoqin and I..."
Yu Qingzhou paused for a mont and then smiled: "are very good friends."
Su Mu nodded:
"It seems the world is indeed very small."
"Yes, after such a long and roundabout journey, you ultimately et the people you’re supposed to et."
Su Mu didn’t quite understand that statent, but Yu Qingzhou didn’t seem keen on explaining further and smiled slightly as he stood up:
"Since Miss Su’s studio is moving back to Shen City, I’m not in a rush. We’ll talk when we get back to Shen City."
Su Mu also stood up: "Mr. Yu, since you are a good friend of Wei Shaoqin, I should extend the courtesy of the host. How about I treat you to a casual al tonight?"
"No, thank you," Yu Qingzhou kindly declined. "I’d like to walk around Jiangcheng City more, as I haven’t been here before. Miss Su, your ti is also precious; I won’t impose. I believe we’ll have plenty of ti to dine together once back in Shen City."
