Su Mu cald herself down and explained, "I t him a few days ago at the hospital."

"Sister Su, are you going to be my tutor?" Wen Shaoyuan asked expectantly.

Su Mu smiled slightly:

"I’m not sure yet, it depends on whether your father trusts ."

"He will definitely trust you," Wen Shaoyuan said confidently. "My dad is rarely at ho, so he often asks for my opinion on many things."

Just as Su Mu was about to thank Wen Shaoyuan, a man in a black sports outfit walked over from the opposite side. Su Mu had seen military n before, but this was the first ti she had seen such a commanding presence on a man in civilian clothes.

He sat across from Su Mu and started politely:

"Sorry, I just went to take a call. I am Wen Han."

Su Mu responded with a smile, "Hello, I am Su Mu."

Before Jiang Bei could say anything, the little one beside him spoke up, tugging at Wen Han’s sleeve and acting coquettishly:

"Dad, can Sister Su be my teacher, please? The first ti I saw Sister Su, I felt a connection. She saved my life in the hospital last ti. If it weren’t for her, you wouldn’t be seeing now."

Wen Han furrowed his brow slightly, his tension palpable to everyone:

"Saved your life? What happened?"

Su Mu knew Wen Shaoyuan ant well, but she hadn’t helped him as much as he claid. She began to explain:

"No, it wasn’t as serious as Shaoyuan said. He got lost in the hospital last ti, and I just helped him find his family."

"Sister, I didn’t exaggerate," Shaoyuan replied. "Although you might think it was a small favor, how can you be sure that I wouldn’t have encountered bad people or been kidnapped during the ti you weren’t there to help? Or I might have been struck by a car if I ran out to play. No one can be sure, so your appearance eliminated all these dangers. Saying you saved my life isn’t wrong."

Su Mu: "..."

Jiang Bei: "..."

Wen Han: "..."

There was a brief pause in the atmosphere, but Wen Shaoyuan didn’t seem to notice. He blinked, looked at the three silent people, and smiled slightly, "Aren’t you speaking because you think what I said makes sense?"

Wen Han was the first to break the silence, addressing Su Mu:

"It seems Shaoyuan really likes you."

Su Mu didn’t know how to handle the situation and could only smile faintly.

"May I see your ID card, Miss Su?"

"Of course."

Jiang Bei spoke discontentedly, "Brother, even if you don’t trust Su Su, can’t you trust ? She’s my best friend in my whole life!"

Still, Su Mu handed over her ID card. She felt Wen Han’s approach was good; after all, it concerned his child and couldn’t be taken lightly:

"When Xiaobei called today, I happened to be out, and I didn’t have many docunts on . If you need academic and health certifications, I can provide them."

Wen Han acknowledged, glanced at Su Mu’s ID card, handed it back, then took out a pen and wrote his address on a napkin, pushing it towards Su Mu:

"This is my address. I would appreciate it if you could mail copies of your academic and health certificates to this address. If there are no issues, I’ll have Xiaobei call you."

Su Mu accepted, "Okay."

Jiang Bei felt embarrassed, "Brother, that’s too much."

Su Mu soothed,

"I think it’s good to be clear-cut in public and private matters, especially when it concerns a child. Mr. Wen should screen thoroughly to find the most suitable teacher for Shaoyuan."

Wen Han looked at Su Mu:

"Thank you for understanding."

...

When Fu Shinian and Qin Nianwan walked in, they saw a scene where Su Mu and a man were sitting face to face, enjoying a lively conversation. Due to the angle, they couldn’t see Jiang Bei and Wen Shaoyuan, only Su Mu talking animatedly with a man.

Qin Nianwan sensed Fu Shinian’s unease and followed his gaze, seeing only a striking woman and the back of a man. However, she had never t Su Mu and was unaware of any relationship she might have with Fu Shinian.

Su Shiyue joined them at that mont and clenched her teeth when she saw Su Mu:

"Why is she here? Brother, she’s actually stalking you."

Fu Shinian shifted his gaze:

"Did you leave your brain at ho?"

With that, he ignored Su Shiyue’s displeasure and went straight to the private room. Qin Nianwan watched Fu Shinian’s retreating back and asked Shiyue:

"She is...?"

"She is Su Mu!" Su Shiyue said through clenched teeth.

Qin Nianwan was not very surprised, having already speculated sothing upon seeing Fu Shinian’s state just now. However, she did not expect Su Mu to be so beautiful, which made her feel a sense of crisis.

"Nianwan, let’s go quickly. I don’t want to stay here and watch her flaunt herself."

Qin Nianwan smiled slightly:

"Sure."

In the private room, Fu Shinian sat playing with a lighter, his gaze fixed on the lights outside the window, and no one knew what he was thinking. Qin Nianwan didn’t ask because she knew she wouldn’t get an answer.

The dining atmosphere was harmonious. Qin Nianwan and Su Shiyue had endless topics to talk about, making Fu Shinian seem like a re companion. If it weren’t for Su Shiyue’s departure halfway through, he would have thought dinner was enjoyable.

After receiving a WeChat ssage from Su Shiyue, Qin Nianwan reluctantly smiled and handed her phone to Fu Shinian:

"Shiyue won’t be coming back."

Fu Shinian looked at the screen, where Su Shiyue had sent Qin Nianwan a ssage: "Nianwan sister, I won’t stay and be a third wheel. Take the chance."

When Su Shiyue had excused herself to the restroom, Fu Shinian had already guessed this would be the outco, and he just slightly smiled now:

"How about you? Will you take this opportunity?"

Qin Nianwan put away the phone and sipped her red wine: "If I guess correctly, the virtuous Mr. Fu will not leave any opportunity."

Fu Shinian softly said:

"I’ll take you ho."

On the way to take Qin Nianwan ho, Fu Shinian felt sothing was off. Even though it was early autumn, his body uncontrollably started heating up, making him feel out of control.

This was not the first ti he had been drugged, but he never thought his own sister would resort to such despicable tactics.

Qin Nianwan noticed sothing was wrong with Fu Shinian and reached out to touch him, but he brushed her hand away:

"I’m fine."

Qin Nianwan hadn’t expected him to so fiercely guard against her, and felt instantly hurt. However, she didn’t persist and after a few seconds of silence, she spoke:

"If you’re feeling unwell, just let out, and I’ll take a taxi ho. You should go to the hospital first."

She thought Fu Shinian would refuse, but instead, he replied:

"Okay."

He then asked the driver to stop the car.

Qin Nianwan was dumbfounded but couldn’t refuse to get out of the car, as it was her own suggestion. She had to suppress her emotions and instructed Fu Shinian:

"Call if you need anything."

Fu Shinian nodded and didn’t say anything more.

"Back to Bishui Yuntian."

When Fu Shinian entered the house, Su Mu had just co back and was going upstairs. Hearing the door open behind her, she stopped and turned around, seeing the unwell-looking Fu Shinian. However, she didn’t think much of it, considering that she had gone out to celebrate with both Qin Nianwan and Su Shiyue tonight, and it wasn’t unusual to drink a bit more.

"Should I ask Auntie Lin to make you so sobering-up soup?"

Fu Shinian didn’t respond to Su Mu and walked straight toward her. Su Mu didn’t mind, thinking about going upstairs to change clothes first and then making the soup. However, at the second-floor stairway as she was walking towards the guest room, Fu Shinian suddenly grabbed her wrist and dragged her towards the master bedroom.

Su Mu was caught off guard, her purse falling to the floor. This wasn’t the first ti such an event had occurred, and she realized what Fu Shinian wanted to do. Considering her recent physical condition, she started to resist, but her strength was insignificant compared to his.

In the master bedroom, Fu Shinian, regardless of her resistance, threw her onto the bed. Su Mu quickly scrambled up, backing away as she watched Fu Shinian stripping at the bedside:

"Shinian, I’m not physically well."

"Not well? When have you ever been?" Fu Shinian pulled off his tie and flung it aside: "I’m not in the mood for your usual teasing gas today. I advise you be sensible, or else it’s your own fault if you end up getting hurt."

Su Mu could see his resolve and sensed that she wouldn’t be able to escape tonight. Provoking him might only cause her more suffering, though she was increasingly resisting their intimate relations. Yet, as it had been almost a month since they last had intimacy, perhaps it wouldn’t be as bad as she feared.

Marital duties, she understood, were her obligations.

Seeing Su Mu no longer resisting, Fu Shinian’s attitude softened considerably. He undressed and climbed onto the bed. Su Mu tensely closed her eyes, letting him do as he pleased.

He was impatient, not even taking the ti to undress properly, tearing at his clothes, which added to Su Mu’s tension and fear. The image from the safety staircase that day ca to mind once more, bringing with it mories from the past two years.

She almost couldn’t control herself from pushing Fu Shinian away, but upon opening her eyes and seeing the person before her, she regained so clarity and tried to suppress the discomfort.

Fu Shinian noticed her trembling, propped himself up to look at her:

"Did I hurt you?"

Su Mu shook her head, her teeth chattering: "I’m fine."

"Relax a bit, though occasionally playing hard to get can spice things up, even that becos dull if overdone."

Su Mu tried to ignore the sensations his touch brought her. She kept telling herself that the person above her was Fu Shinian, the person she loved and wanted to protect, but even so, at the crucial mont, she broke down.

Fu Shinian watched as she ran to the bathroom, crouching in front of the toilet and vomiting repeatedly. His face turned completely dark.
