Su Mu had to admit, most of the ti, Wen Han was very sensitive, sensitive enough to take care of every emotion and even the drifting of her gaze. However, sotis he was incredibly obtuse, just like the sentence she had just said. She thought she had made herself clear, but Wen Han had remained indifferent.

Actually, Wen Han wasn’t clueless or slow to react. He just chose not to speak because he didn’t want to pressure her. He cared too much, so without being sure of what Su Mu really ant, he hesitated to speak. After all, he feared the embarrassnt and the rejection, so he could only feign ignorance.

At this mont, hearing that Su Mu had sothing to tell him, his face remained calm. But perhaps only he knew the turbulence hidden beneath this calm facade, how much effort it took to keep everything looking safe and sound.

Su Mu looked at him, her gaze showing no intention to evade, and whispered,

"Do you rember the words you spoke to on the balcony on Qiqi’s birthday?"

Wen Han swallowed quietly without changing his expression,

"I rember."

"Are they still valid?"

"They are valid for a lifeti."

Su Mu smiled faintly,

"What did I say then, do you rember?"

"I rember." Wen Han looked at her earnestly. "You said you needed ti to think, to consider it."

"Yes," Su Mu t his gaze, "I have thought it over."

Wen Han felt like his heart was about to excitedly burst out of his mouth, but he had to hold it in, to maintain composure. He didn’t want to let a hint of his excitent show, afraid it might scare Su Mu. It was like having a lottery ticket where the first six numbers were already correct, and only one last blue number left could make him rich overnight or not—it all hinged on what would happen in the next second.

"What... What did you decide?"

Su Mu could feel his nervousness, so she smiled gently, and said solemnly,

"I agree, let’s give it a try."

Wen Han looked at Su Mu and didn’t speak.

Su Mu looked at Wen Han, waiting for him to process her words.

Ti seed to pass very slowly, so much so that Su Mu wondered if he had even heard what she said. However, she knew he had heard her, so all she could do was wait patiently. Finally, Wen Han ca to his senses, and suddenly pulled her into his arms with a strong tug.

They had embraced before, but this ti it was clearly different. Su Mu felt slightly uncomfortable and sowhat resistant, but she did not push him away and rely smiled faintly,

"You scared ."

The usual Wen Han would have let go of Su Mu and apologized, but this ti he didn’t. Instead, he held her tighter and asked,

"Say it again."

Su Mu’s chin rested on Wen Han’s shoulder as she looked at the sky outside the window tinted red by the sunset, and she smiled faintly,

"I said, let’s give it a try."

Wen Han was so overwheld with joy that he was almost lost for words, but after a mont he cald down and slightly loosened his embrace, gazing into her eyes with such focused and scrutinizing attention that Su Mu felt a bit uneasy, chuckled lightly,

"Why are you looking at like this?"

"Why did you agree?"

"Should I not have agreed?"

Wen Han shook his head, "I’m just a bit in disbelief."

If it could be said that Wen Han understood Su Mu, then to so extent, Su Mu also understood Wen Han very well. Just by looking at his expressions now, Su Mu could tell what he was thinking and chuckled softly,

"Are you worried that my sudden agreent is just a way to repay you?"

Wen Han opened his mouth but ultimately didn’t utter a sound, which was as good as admitting Su Mu’s speculation, or at least doubting.

Su Mu looked at Wen Han and sighed deeply before she got up and walked to the window. The daylight was fading, and the sunset was almost gone. The room was dark, and Su Mu was backlit, so he couldn’t see her expression clearly, which made him sowhat panicked, but he restrained himself and remained silent.

"Wen Han, do you rember how many tis you have saved ?"

Wen Han looked at her silhouette, "I don’t rember."

"I do. The first ti was 11 years ago, I was still in high school, and you saved on a rainy night. If it wasn’t for you, I might have been reborn already; the second ti, I was being chased by those people my father owed debt to, and you ca to return my bag and helped out; the third ti, in the streets of Portugal, I didn’t see the oncoming vehicle, and you pulled back just in ti to avoid being hit; the fourth ti I was kidnapped by Song Zhengxian, and you appeared with the police; this fifth ti I was taken away by Xu Yansu, I rember every single ti."

Wen Han said nothing, just listened quietly.

"If I wanted to repay you, after you saved so many tis, I wouldn’t wait until you confessed; but I haven’t, not because I can’t, but because you would disdain such feelings, and I cannot defile your love for by repaying it. I wouldn’t have in the past, and I won’t now."

Behind Su Mu’s back, unseen by her, Wen Han heard her words and smiled slightly, "With what you just said, I can rest assured."

Su Mu turned to look at him, and although it was already quite dark in the room and Su Mu could barely see Wen Han’s face, she still gazed at him,

"I’ve thought seriously about the words you told ; even if not for my own sake, I considered them for Qiqi’s sake. But, Wen Han, before we officially get together, there are so things I want to make clear. Of course, I’ll completely respect your decision whether or not you accept them."

"Go on."

"I admit that my feelings for you are different, but even at this mont as I nod in agreent, I can’t be sure if this feeling is really love. I also don’t know when I will be sure. It might take a long ti, but since we’ve decided to be together, I will definitely treat you well, treat Shaoyuan well, treat your parents well."

"I know."

"Also, although the life we imagine together would be happy, nobody knows if it really will be happiness until we’re actually together. So, for now, we’re just trying, like you said, a ’trial period’ for a relationship. If during this period we discover any issues that can be corrected, we will address them promptly. If they can’t be corrected, then... "

"It won’t happen," Wen Han interrupted her, "We will be happy."

Wen Han’s eagerness caused Su Mu to smile slightly,

"I’m just saying ’if’. Even if you’re certain, you can’t predict things that haven’t happened, can you?"

"Su Mu." Wen Han spoke earnestly, "I am a whole decade older than you, and my state of mind is different. I don’t harbor those restless thoughts anymore. If you agree, I’m committed for a lifeti. Everything I’ve said before was sincere, with no hidden hopes or deceptions. As long as you nod, I have the confidence to go all the way with you. My biggest fear is not failing partway but that you might never agree."
