Shi Lihua looked at him for a few seconds before finally collapsing back onto the bed in a daze, as Fu Shinian chuckled lightly:

"Indeed, Xu Yansu did infect with a virus, but before that, I had already taken a preventative dication that inhibits this type of virus. We spent three years and didn’t co up with an antidote for this virus, but preventing it proved to be an easy challenge, similar to a vaccine, found through a breakthrough in Grandma’s blood. You should know this better than I do. Viruses are double-edged; if they are poisonous, there naturally exists a cure. It’s only a matter of ti before it’s developed."

"So, you deceived for two years?"

"Without pretending to be sick, how would you have believed that I too was infected with your virus, and how else could I have made you carelessly treat the old lady first?" Fu Shinian looked at her, "How else could I make you confidently remove the virus from her?"

Shi Lihua was silent for a long ti, and when she looked at Fu Shinian again after coming to terms with this news, her face was full of defeat. She laughed at herself mockingly:

"I thought I was the one setting the trap, but I never expected that from the beginning, I had fallen into your snare. When did you start to be cautious of ?"

"Even before the incident with Qin Nianwan, I was wary of you and had been gathering information about you. But I knew you were coming back when Granny first fainted. By that ti, I already knew there was a virus in Granny’s blood, but I had no idea if the people around were friends or foes, so I kept my suspicions to myself. It wasn’t until later that I found out who was the mastermind behind Granny’s poisoning."

Shi Lihua narrowed her eyes slightly:

"How did you find out?"

"When you want to know sothing, there’s always a way. Granny doesn’t like to go out, and there are only a few people who take care of her. Do you think it would be hard to figure out who it is?"

At first, Fu Shinian had his suspicions about Su Shiyue, because, after all, it was after her return from abroad that Granny’s health started to change. But later on, Fu Shinian realized it couldn’t be Su Shiyue. She might be arrogant and domineering, but she was simple-minded, and any slight thing she did would show on her face; she didn’t know how to hide it. Besides, her worried expression when Granny fell ill was genuine.

Of course, Fu Shinian couldn’t simply take his interpretation of Su Shiyue’s expressions as the truth. He thoroughly investigated her social circle abroad and didn’t find anything out of the ordinary, which finally dispelled his doubts.

But Su Shiyue was a key point, sothing Fu Shinian had never doubted.

"I don’t know how you did it, but the virus in Granny’s body was indeed planted in Su Shiyue’s luggage by you. I guess it wasn’t arranged abroad, as airport security checks would’ve revealed it. Therefore, the only possibility would be at the dostic airport, where soone had been waiting well in advance to slip the so-called virus into her suitcase when she ca out, and then she brought it back to the Fu family’s ho, all above board. Afterward, your accomplice arranged within the Fu family made their move on Granny, right?"

Shi Lihua looked at Fu Shinian without speaking, but such silence undoubtedly confird all of Fu Shinian’s guesses were correct.

"I’m very curious, Auntie Wang had worked in my family for nearly 40 years, and the Fu family has never shortchanged her. Why would she work for you?"

Upon hearing this, Shi Lihua smiled:

"Everyone has their weak points. If I hold her weakness in my grasp and make her work for , it seems that wouldn’t be impossible, right?"

Fu Shinian nodded and did not continue the topic. Instead, Shi Lihua grew increasingly curious about him. She was eager to find out what this man, who looked like a sick cat, had been doing during the three years when she thought she had control of everything.

"I can understand you feigned illness for grandma’s sake, but after all, the Fu family entrusted the company to your care. Do you really have the heart to watch it be destroyed by , piece by piece? Even though ’great strategies cannot be bothered by small grievances,’ isn’t the cost of this ’endurance’ a bit too great?"

Fu Shinian looked at her and chuckled lightly:

"Do you really think I would let the company my grandfather entrusted with be squandered endlessly by you?"

"Fu Shinian, I admit you do have so tactics, but even with all your tactics, the money from Fu Corporation was indeed siphoned by , bit by bit. Now, Fu Corporation is nothing but an empty shell. Even if you were extrely capable, what could you do? Can you bring Fu Corporation back to life?"

"Why couldn’t I?" Fu Shinian looked at her, took the last puff from the cigarette between his fingers, casually tossed it on the ground, and snuffed it out with his foot before standing up: "Aren’t you curious about where I went yesterday, to the point that even with Su Mu in your grasp, I didn’t show up? Let tell you now."

Just as Fu Shinian finished speaking, a figure appeared at the door. Shi Lihua glanced over without much thought, as she still didn’t believe Fu Shinian had the capability to revive Fu Corporation. But when she clearly saw the person standing at the door, she believed him, although she didn’t understand why.

She got up from the bed and tried to rush to the person at the door, but the handcuffs were fastened tightly around her wrists. She ignored the pain as she tried to touch the person, resulting in streaks of blood marks on her wrists. However, Yu Qingzhou, standing at the doorway, was indifferent to her efforts and even looked at her with evident disgust:

"I always forgot to tell you, my illness was a misdiagnosis by the doctor. I never had the sa disease as my father; I am very healthy."

"You’re not sick? Really?" The happiness on Shi Lihua’s face was genuine as she looked at Yu Qingzhou and laughed with relief: "That’s great, really great."

"I also think it’s great. But even if I am healthy physically, what about ntally and emotionally? No one knows better than you what I have endured all these years."

His words stunned Shi Lihua for a mont. Then, as if sothing occurred to her, she involuntarily took a step back. For a brief mont, she dared not et Yu Qingzhou’s gaze. But eventually, she gathered the courage to look at him. After her gaze shifted between Fu Shinian and Yu Qingzhou, she suddenly understood:

"When did you two start communicating with each other?"

Fu Shinian stood up and walked over to the window, looking at the scenery outside, and spoke indifferently:

"From two years ago when you took over Fu Corporation and transferred the first sum of money, Ji Nanfeng ca into contact with Yu Qingzhou. We thought it would be a tough battle, but to our surprise, after hearing our plan, Yu Qingzhou didn’t hesitate to transfer all of his company shares to us. We were afraid you would notice, so the transfer of the shares wasn’t officially completed until yesterday. So essentially, what you’ve been doing to Fu Corporation for the past two years is nothing but moving money from one pocket of mine into another. Seeing you enjoy your ga, I found so amusent in it too, after all, I’ve been rather bored and lonely these last two years."
