If it weren’t for Ji Nanfeng and Qiao Yu walking over, no one would know how long the two of them would have stood at the entrance. It was clearly a banquet, yet within less than 2 minutes of their arrival, it had beco a private show for the two of them.

"I know you two have been close lately, but do you have to make a public display of affection like this? Have you no sense of public decency at all?"

Qiao Yu’s gaze landed on Su Mu:

"I have never seen Su Mu dress up so ticulously, you look very pretty."

Ji Nanfeng had never complinted Su Mu before, but this ti, he nodded:

"A beauty from a painting."

Su Mu softly expressed her thanks, and Fu Shinian smiled slightly. After all, nothing was more pleasing than having one’s wife praised. He turned his head to look at Su Mu:

"Let take you to eat sothing."

They hadn’t eaten upon arriving, and it was alti; she must be a bit hungry by now.

"Don’t you need to go and greet people?"

"No need."

Having said that, he took Su Mu’s hand and headed to the buffet area. Ji Nanfeng and Qiao Yu, who were ignored, showed no dissatisfaction. Watching the two from behind, they exchanged glances and then smiled slightly. Seeing their good brother’s relationship resolve was indeed a delight.

Looking at the array of food, Su Mu had little appetite. After all, being stared at by so many people, she really couldn’t bring herself to eat.

"Not hungry?"

Su Mu nodded, and Fu Shinian laughed softly, saying:

"Su Mu, you will have to get used to such occasions eventually."

"I don’t need to get used to it, I don’t like such occasions."

Fu Shinian looked at her, then after a few seconds, agreed:

"I’ll try not to make you co in the future."

Su Mu looked around, and wherever her gaze fell, those watching her either remained expressionless or awkwardly averted their eyes. Even without them saying anything, Su Mu knew what they were curious about: why was she here, and what was her relationship with Fu Shinian?

There might have been a ti when she really wanted to be recognized, but now, she felt it didn’t matter. Rather than being acknowledged by everyone as Mrs. Fu, she preferred Fu Shinian’s personal recognition. What she wanted was for him to treat her as a real wife.

Gradually, people started coming up to greet them. After the first one, naturally there was a second and a third. Although they were talking to Fu Shinian, their glances kept flickering towards her. At first, Su Mu managed to maintain a smile, but slowly she felt the muscles on her face stiffening. She no longer wanted to keep up the pretense and gently tugged on Fu Shinian’s sleeve:

"I will sit over there for a while."

Fu Shinian followed the direction she pointed and nodded faintly:

"Okay, I will ask Qiao Yu to co and keep you company later."

He was worried about her, and Su Mu had no reason to refuse such care. With a light smile, she walked towards the small balcony.

What Su Mu didn’t expect was that there were already people on the small balcony, a man and a woman hiding in a dark corner, intimately embracing, scantily clad.

Her arrival startled them, and Su Mu herself was taken aback. Striving to remain calm, she apologized in a low voice:

"I’m sorry, I didn’t realize there was soone here."

Having said that, she prepared to leave in search of another quiet place, only to be stopped by that person:

"Hold on a mont."

Su Mu stopped in her tracks, watching as the person erged from the shadows. Looking at his face, Su Mu felt it seed familiar but couldn’t rember where she had seen him before.

"You think you can just walk away after ruining my fun?"

He didn’t plan to let her off easily, but Su Mu remained unyielding:

"I have already apologized."

"Do you think an apology can solve all problems? You’ve interfered with my mood, how should this debt be settled?"

Su Mu could see the tease in his eyes and offered a faint smile:

"Then what would you like to do?"

"Actually, I do have a solution, it’s not too troubleso." The man licked his lips, unabashedly sizing up Su Mu: "Just accompany to the small balcony for a while, and we’ll call it even, how about that?"

Su Mu huffed and without taking further notice of him, she left, not expecting him to swiftly chase after her. He grabbed her wrist, and she struggled to pull away, but unexpectedly lost her balance and bumped into a passing waiter, knocking his tray of champagne to the floor.

The sudden noise drew the attention of everyone present. This was the second ti tonight that Su Mu had drawn the attention of the entire room.

The man tangling with Su Mu was Qin Lang, the crown prince of the Qin family. Barely in his twenties, he was accustod to acting recklessly without any consequences. Today, his father had brought him to expand his network and to make preparations for his future succession to leadership. He could never have expected to flirt with a woman only minutes after arriving, then whisk her away to a secluded balcony to get intimate, missing the arrival of Fu Shinian and certainly not recognizing the ethereal woman before him as Fu Shinian’s woman.

Now, he targeted her solely because Su Mu was exceptionally attractive, and he just wanted a taste.

Being observed by so many onlookers, especially in such a situation, Su Mu truly felt humiliated. As she stepped away, Qin Lang suddenly shouted:

"You think you can run off with my things? I’d like to see if you can leave here today!"

If Qin Lang had known that Su Mu had arrived with Fu Shinian, he definitely wouldn’t have acted this way. But of that fact, Qin Lang was utterly unaware.

Though he mixed with the entire upper-class circle, he had never seen Su Mu before, naturally mistaking her for an escort fishing for custors at this event, and he would not give her a second glance.

Su Mu watched his ranting, her expression remaining calmly detached, showing not even an extra flicker of emotion, which made Qin Lang look all the more like a clown.

Qin Lang looked around at the audience who were enjoying the spectacle, seeing their eyes full of disbelief. Indeed, who could appear alongside Fu Shinian and still be sothing less than wealthy and of high status? Moreover, everyone knew exactly what kind of figure Qin Lang was in social circles.

What was intended to be a humiliation for this woman had, for so reason, elicited a response from the crowd that was completely different from what he had expected. Suppressing his disdain for the onlookers, he spoke with scorn:

"Dressed up like a goddess, but aren’t you still out here selling yourself? When you were seducing just now you were quite diligent, so how co now that you’ve successfully stolen my things you want to run? How can soone like you end up in such an important event?"

"Seduction? Can you take responsibility for what you’ve just said, young master Qin?"

A cool voice cut in, satisfying everyone’s craving for drama. Su Mu looked towards the newcor, maintaining a calm facade, but she inevitably felt a bit guilty inside. In front of all these people, although innocent, she was still tarnishing the face of Fu Shinian.

The arrival of Fu Shinian caused a noticeable shift in Qin Lang’s expression, as if undergoing a Sichuan face-changing act, he swiftly switched to a fawning visage:

"Mr. Fu, you’re here? I didn’t see you just now, I thought maybe you wouldn’t attend today."

"You haven’t answered my question yet."
