"You dare!"

Wei Shaoqin sneered, "She’s standing right in front of ; what do you think I wouldn’t dare to do?"

Having said that, he bent down and scooped Su Mu into a horizontal carry, and looking at her face which had turned pale, he laughed unrestrainedly:

"Scared now? Too late!"

Su Mu began to punch and kick while in Wei Shaoqin’s arms, but these efforts seed like re drizzles to him. He let her make a fuss, even when Su Mu scratched his face; he only hissed in pain and said no more. Su Mu finally realized the gravity of the situation just before she was to be carried into the villa, and she spoke:

"I have a boyfriend now."

Wei Shaoqin’s steps montarily halted, and he looked at Su Mu:

"So what? I only want you for tonight. After tonight, if you don’t tell and I don’t speak, how would he ever know?"

Su Mu was shocked by his mindset:

"Junior President Wei’s views are truly unprecedented. What? Can you also accept rely if you don’t know, you would allow your girlfriend to be with another man?"

"Having been my woman, whether materially or in bed, how could she possibly fancy another man?"

Upon finishing, Wei Shaoqin put Su Mu down, casually shut the villa door, turned the lock, and then tossed the keys out of the window. He then looked at Su Mu:

"Now, no one can disturb us."

Su Mu had given up on finding any clue from Wei Shaoqin; his thought processes were unlike that of normal people. She couldn’t expect him to understand reason, but seeing his determined deanor, Su Mu knew her prospects were grim. She wondered if bringing up Fu Shinian would be seen as a joke in Wei Shaoqin’s eyes:

After all, how could soone with only 3007 yuan in their bank account be the lady of the Fu Corporation?

Wei Shaoqin ignored Su Mu and walked over to sit on the sofa:

"You’re free to look around; we can start after we’ve eaten."

Even though Su Mu knew her chances of escaping from the room were slim, she didn’t resign to fate. She explored every room thoroughly, but each window was securely locked and she couldn’t find any ans of communication. It seed at that mont, other than resigning to fate, she had no other choice.

When she ca downstairs, Wei Shaoqin was still in the sa spot, idly watching TV. Seeing her co down, he looked up and smiled slightly:

"What? Given up?"

"Wei Shaoqin, let’s talk."

"Sure, but I’ll say it upfront, no matter what you say, it won’t change my decision."

Su Mu walked over, sat on the sofa across from him, and looked at the boring variety show on the TV, which unexpectedly featured Qin Nianwan. She had actually gone to participate in a talent show. Watching her energetically sing and dance on cara, Su Mu said:

"A month ago, I refused your offer to drive ho. That day, I was almost raped by a man. I thought it was just an accident, but only yesterday did I learn that soone had paid a huge amount to have him assault . I’ve never done anything morally wrong in my life. Even when my father had an affair and neglected us, my mother and , I held no resentnt—it was just that fate had its course and feelings faded. But yesterday, when I learned the truth, I truly wondered if I had unknowingly hurt soone so severely that they chose this thod to ruin ."

Wei Shaoqin looked at Su Mu, silent, as if weighing the truth of her words.

"But I’ve racked my brains, and I still can’t recall such an incident. The one thing that might not be understood but had good intentions ended up like this. I thought that would be the last ti, but after she failed to succeed, you continued to destroy in the sa manner."

"Telling all this, are you trying to gain my sympathy?" Wei Shaoqin spoke, "Su Mu, I’ve only ever had a physical desire for you, no feelings. Don’t you think saying all this is superfluous?"

Su Mu laughed lightly, self-mockingly:

"Perhaps you’re right, maybe I shouldn’t say these things. Maybe I should ask what exactly you see in ? This face? The won Junior President Wei has been with are all more attractive than . Why use such despicable ans to coerce a woman—what’s the point?"

"You’re right, I do like your face; but I’ve been with won more beautiful than you. Maybe it’s not your looks I care about but your attitude towards . I’m tired of won who flatter and read nuances; your deanor rather appeals to my desire to conquer."

"By ans of abduction?"

"That’s just the process; I care more about the outco."

The TV show finally ended, and Su Mu turned her gaze back to him:

"So today, you must have no matter what?"

Wei Shaoqin smiled, looking at Su Mu:

"Su Mu, perhaps you could think about this from another perspective. If it’s destined that you go through this ordeal, at least I’m much better than the man you encountered before. He did it for money, while I genuinely want you from my heart. Thinking this way, maybe you’ll feel a bit better?"

Su Mu scoffed:

"Wei Shao’s thinking really is different from ordinary people."

"Thanks for the complint."

The villa’s doorbell rang, and Wei Shaoqin stood up and said, "Dinner must be ready."

Fu Shinian rarely finished work on ti to co ho, but even in Bishui Yuntian, there was no sign of Su Mu. His mood inexplicably soured:

"Call the wife and tell her I won’t be back before dinner today, and she need not bother with dinner at ho anymore!"

Auntie Lin was startled and then responded:

"Yes."

But before the call could be made, the landline rang. Auntie Lin answered, her expression somber. After a few responses, she hung up and glanced at Fu Shinian going upstairs before deciding to speak:

"Mr. Fu, the sanatorium called to say that the wife’s mother is not doing well, and she has now been transferred to the city hospital."

Upon hearing this, Fu Shinian stopped in his tracks and turned to Auntie Lin:

"Why tell this? Shouldn’t you call her instead?"

"The sanatorium said they’ve been unable to reach the wife’s phone, and I just tried calling too – it’s turned off."

Fu Shinian frowned. His wife really was becoming more capable by the day.

He ascended two more steps, but ultimately stopped. A few seconds later, he cursed under his breath, turned around, and hurried downstairs while making a call to Qiao Yu as he walked towards the door:

"Su Mu’s mother has been admitted to your hospital. I believe it’s the neurosurgery departnt. Go check on her first; I’ll be there shortly."

At the private farm, a lavish dinner was already set on the table. Su Mu and Wei Shaoqin sat opposite each other. Wei Shaoqin ate with great appetite, but Su Mu hadn’t touched her chopsticks from the start. Wei Shaoqin didn’t press her but instead chuckled:

"What, afraid I might drug you?"

"With your tricks, I have to be cautious."

"Can you really defend yourself?" Wei Shaoqin leaned back in his chair, setting down his chopsticks. "There are only the two of us in this room. The drug doesn’t have to be in the food. How can you be sure it’s not in the air? Even if you manage to guard against all possibilities, what must happen will still happen. If I were you, I’d eat well so you’d have the strength to escape when you need to."

"You’re right, but with your face in front of , do you think I can swallow any food? You might as well enjoy it yourself," she replied.

After speaking, Su Mu stood up and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, standing there, gazing at the sunset that reddened the sky outside, lost in thought.

Fifteen minutes later, Wei Shaoqin also stood up. He walked behind Su Mu and gently wrapped his arms around her. Su Mu was caught off guard and startled, and when she tried to struggle, he tightened his grip. His arms were like chains, fiercely restraining her, making all her efforts to escape seem feeble and ridiculous.

"Wei Shaoqin, it’s not even dark yet. Are you in such a hurry?"

"The outco will be the sa sooner or later. Doing it earlier will spare us from prolonged agony," he whispered nibbling her earlobe. "Would you prefer it gentle or violent?"

Su Mu shuddered in disgust:

"I’d prefer you stayed far away from ."

"Afraid that’s not possible."

Just as Wei Shaoqin pretended to take Su Mu upstairs, his phone rang. Su Mu sighed in relief as Wei Shaoqin glanced at the caller ID and released his grip on her:

"Wait, I need to take this call."

The call seed important, as Wei Shaoqin wouldn’t have otherwise headed upstairs. Seeing his figure disappear at the staircase, Su Mu imdiately went to the dining room, grabbed the cutlery in front of her, and fiercely smashed it to the ground. She crouched down to pick up a shard, and without any hesitation, she slashed her own wrist!

When Fu Shinian arrived at the hospital, Su Mu’s mother was preparing for surgery. A nurse holding the consent form stood in front of him:

"Are you a family mber? Please sign here."

A cerebral hemorrhage required surgery. Qiao Yu, standing beside him, glanced at the indifferent Fu Shinian:

"Where is Su Mu? Why isn’t she here? Without a signature, no one can take this responsibility."

Although the hospital was under Fu Corporation’s na, he could not use his identity to coerce the doctors into conducting the surgery without a family mber’s consent.

Fu Shinian didn’t speak or take the consent form. The nurse was growing impatient:

"Are we performing the surgery or not? For a cerebral hemorrhage patient, ti is life. If you keep delaying, our hospital won’t take responsibility if sothing happens."

Jiang Bei, having heard the news from sowhere, rushed to the neurosurgery ward and overheard the nurse. She ca over, glared at Fu Shinian and Qiao Yu, and then took the consent form from the nurse:

"I’ll sign."

"Are you a family mber?"

"Yes, of course I am." Jiang Bei was about to sign when Fu Shinian grabbed her wrist. He looked at her:

"What kind of family mber are you?"

Saying this, he didn’t give Jiang Bei a chance to speak, took the consent form, and wrote his na down in the informant’s section, then handed it back to the nurse:

"Proceed with the surgery."
