He confined himself just to make himself pregnant, such behavior was hardly like treating a person. Perhaps in Fu Shinian’s eyes, the value of Su Mu at this mont was rely that of a production tool, right?

On the first day, she didn’t eat anything and locked herself in the bedroom all day, continually calling Fu Shinian. He never tired of adding her to the blacklist or turning off his phone to show his attitude. Su Mu’s calls could always reach his cell phone, but they were all t with the sa result: never answered.

That evening, Fu Shinian didn’t show up, and Su Mu was not surprised at all.

When Auntie Lin reported Su Mu’s situation throughout the day over the phone that night, he just replied indifferently,

"Find a way to make her eat."

The next day, Su Mu didn’t co downstairs. It wasn’t until Auntie Lin went into the master bedroom that she noticed Su Mu’s severe dark circles. She had maintained the sa position as the day before, no doubt having not slept the entire night. Auntie Lin called out with concern,

"Madam, breakfast is ready. Shall I bring it up for you to eat a bit?"

Su Mu’s voice was hoarse: "I’m not hungry."

"Madam..."

"Tell Fu Shinian if he wants to eat, let him co back and say it to personally."

Auntie Lin had been serving Su Mu for over two years and knew that the lady appeared soft and easy to talk to on ordinary days. But when she was stubborn, she was no different from Fu Shinian. At this point, her words ant that no matter how Auntie Lin tried to persuade her, she would not eat a single bite.

After going downstairs, Auntie Lin called Fu Shinian. At that ti, he had already had breakfast and was practicing shooting at the range with Ji Nanfeng and Qiao Yu. When the call ca in, he just glanced at it and picked up, then heard Auntie Lin’s voice:

"Mr. Fu, why don’t you co back once? Madam hasn’t slept or eaten anything since last night. When I just went into the master bedroom, she looked considerably haggard."

"She still refuses to eat?"

"Refuses. Madam said, only if you co back and tell her personally."

Fu Shinian snorted lightly,

"Then let her starve."

Auntie Lin was taken aback and didn’t say anything for a few seconds, but Fu Shinian just hung up the phone.

As Fu Shinian put his phone back into his pocket, Ji Nanfeng and Qiao Yu’s gazes both settled on him. Fu Shinian was in a bad mood and couldn’t be bothered with them, so he just fired his gun, hitting the bullseye. Ji Nanfeng looked on perfunctorily and clapped his hands in praise of the good shooting, then walked up to Fu Shinian:

"Don’t be like that. We heard the call, if you don’t tell us what happened, it makes us uncomfortable, too. Haven’t you made up from last ti’s issue yet?"

Ji Nanfeng also knew all about Fu Shinian’s car-smashing behavior through Ji Nanfeng, and although he didn’t quite understand Su Mu’s behavior, he felt there must be her own reasoning. After all, no one is born a masochist and would refuse to spend money.

In the past half a month, Fu Shinian occasionally initiated gathering with them for drinks, which was a rare occurrence before. This indirectly proved that the issue between him and Su Mu was unresolved. The displeasure between them, JI Nanfeng and Qiao Yu hadn’t seen 1000 tis, but at least 800 tis, they initially thought it would gradually improve. Who would have expected it to beco even more severe?

Qiao Yu looked at Fu Shinian,

"From what you’ve just said, did you lock Su Mu up?"

Fu Shinian neither admitted nor denied it, so Qiao Yu knew the answer and rolled his eyes blatantly, while Ji Nanfeng appeared extrely excited:

"No way, you really did that? What on earth did Su Mu do to warrant such asures from you? Weren’t you just consulting Qiao Yu about whether it’s suitable to have children recently? How co there’s such a huge conflict all of a sudden, whose problem is it?"

Just as Ji Nanfeng had managed to avoid ntioning children, the topic of Fu Shinian reignited his anger:

"Do you think it’s possibly my problem?"

"Su Mu’s?" Ji Nanfeng couldn’t help but laugh. "That makes even more curious. What could soone with Su Mu’s personality possibly do to make you so upset?"

Qiao Yu couldn’t help interjecting:

"Even if it’s Su Mu’s fault, do you have no responsibility at all? Don’t look at like that. You know , I always stand for justice, not kinship. It takes two to tango, and there’s no need for to preach that to you. Although Su Mu may seem weak and easily bullied, the softer the person, the more extre their reactions can be when driven to a corner. She might end up doing sothing you’d never expect."

Fu Shinian was dismissive, however:

"Let her be."

"If sothing really happens to Su Mu, I hope you won’t regret it."

Fu Shinian paused for a few seconds, but ultimately he didn’t change his stance. He practiced his shooting, while Qiao Yu wanted to say more. Ji Nanfeng stopped him, whispering softly:

"Forget it."

"But Su Mu..."

"Su Mu is Shinian’s wife. We can’t, and shouldn’t ddle in their affairs. Besides, when have you ever seen Shinian treat any woman like this? Despite what outsiders say about him not being a good person, what he’s really like, you and I know very well. He has his limits; he won’t let anything happen to Su Mu. Didn’t you hear that it was Auntie Lin’s call just now? Soone is always watching over Su Mu, what could possibly go wrong?"

Qiao Yu looked at Fu Shinian’s silhouette in the distance and sighed lightly:

"I’m genuinely worried that the two of them might actually end up separating."

"Then that’s fate." Ji Nanfeng viewed it lightly. "If a simple conflict can lead to their separation, then it only proves that there wasn’t much affection worth clinging on to. What’s the point of being so fixated on a loveless marriage? Better to end it sooner rather than later."

Qiao Yu looked at him disapprovingly:

"I really hope you never encounter such a problem in the future, otherwise, I could use what you’ve said today to shut you up."

Ji Nanfeng laughed lightly:

"Are you kidding? , fall in love with a woman? Maybe in my next life."

Qiao Yu snorted lightly, "Don’t speak too soon. I’ll wait for the day you eat your words."

——

Fu Shinian seed like he had made up his mind and would not rest until he achieved his goal, insisting on forcing Su Mu to back down in this standoff. However, once Su Mu’s stubbornness surfaced, she had cut off all paths of retreat. Her stubbornness reached unprecedented levels due to Fu Shinian’s pressure.

She refused to drink a sip of water or eat a grain of rice, causing Auntie Lin great distress. But when Auntie Lin called Fu Shinian, his response was still the sa indifferent: "Let her be."

Su Mu thought about calling for help, but what she hadn’t expected was that Fu Shinian would cancel her phone number the next day, making it impossible for her to make any calls. The landline downstairs was also unplugged. Su Mu, dragging her weakened body, braced herself and looked towards Auntie Lin. Her words were on the tip of her tongue but she chose to remain silent.
